Great video. Its good that you have helped Jasper out and vice versa. That render system has a lot of stages and variables! Enjoyed your talk at the end. Take care.

Shae, this is my first message aimed for you! You need to pay attention to being on a roof like that. As I learned the trade, my dad was older, slower and less agile. When it came to doing the cheeks of dorma widows, it'd always be me laying at a near impossible angle on a high-up roof, stretching to get in the corner using either a brick trowel or pointing trowel and it had to be curved out along the bottom because of the render drip bead just to make it extra fun. That'll you doing things like that soon!!! My tip of the day: A short scaffold board with a few long nails in one end. Rest the board on the main scaffold handrail and then bend the nails (hit them with the hammer!) round the handrail tube. Safe as anything and lovely to balance on especially on a cold, windy day!! 🙂🙂

    That
is a good system, but after the mesh and scratch are done ,it can be doubled up with any # of top coats, bag products or s+c
The mesh in the scratch will stop cracking the top coat can be trowel up and left smooth, primed and the acrylic finish put on.
Spongeing it causes the finish too drag on the wall ,have been doing acrylic finishes here in the states for over20 years,lv the channel lads 👍

You seriously don’t need to mix all these bags renders together, just use ms20 OCR from start to finish on block work. The fact that weren’t scaffolded out and you had to work off all that shite at your age.

So what is the point of this stuff when you have to deal with the "ghosting" issues and other trades f;'''king the work. They have made a paint to go over it.. ??? Am I missing something..? Sorry i dont mean to be rude.

Na totally, I’m with ya. It’s really difficult to Make good to the silicone finish as well.
Some one commented on another silicone video, what’s this stuff going to look like in 20years time?

@@Plastersmurf74 Does it bleach in the sun after a long time..?

@@anthonybroom Not sure if 'bleaching' is the right terminology but in my opinion (for the little it may be worth!) it doesn't take too long for the colours, especially the blues, to look 'washed out'. Some buildings near me were done several years ago- looked alright to start with but now just look awful. The blue just looks like faded, worn out paint and the redish/pinkish colour doesn't look much better. Longevity was mentioned in Smurf's previous video about this job.
