I have a Pokemon Crater story! Back around 2006/2007. I really wanted a Lugia, but I didn't have anything to trade for one. So I went to the list of Lugias for trade, found the trainer names, then went down the list one by one until I found someone who's password was the same as their name. We would all make copies of this floppy disc containing the emulator and the rom. We'd spend hours going to each others houses and playing the game from the start until like the 2nd or 3rd badge then losing our save due to not having enough storage space left on the floppy disc and being too young to realise it would have worked fine from the hard drive!

I was 9 at this time… I literally lived on it back in the summer 2007…
It was amazing to both me and my brother because we didn’t even knew that a new generation of pokemon was coming… (well I actually knew from watching pokemon AMVs) … so when we got to it my starter was Piplup.
My team was also a Yanmega, Houndoom, Blaziken Typhlosion and Jigglypuff…
1 week before it’s shutdown they were generous… Legendary pokemon were appearing everywhere.
I was so sad … I miss my Empoleon.

I remember playing Pokemon Crater, as well as Pokemon Deluge (another Pokemon browser RPG) around 2006-2009. Other than my Gameboy Advance SP and a copy of Sapphire, I play a bunch of that site after school. You could also meet your friends online and battle them. I remember terms like "Rare Pokemon" refers to fossils, pokemon that were gifts or overworld encounters in the game, and Shinies. I also remember getting a level 5 Kabuto and evolve it with a single Rare Candy and thought that all fossil pokemon would evolve it in the real game as well. The disappointment in my face when I realized that Kabuto evolves into Kabutops at lvl 40. Then, I remember my first ever shiny in the game and I didn't even know that it shined. I just saw a weird colored Bellsprout and thought it was a glitch in the game. So I left it and never to be seen ever again. I regretted that decision when a friend of mine told me about Shiny Pokemon in their Gen 4 game. So much so that I found a Shiny Tentacool after beating Koga's gym in Leaf Green (no longer there since my save file got corrupted).
The reason I stopped playing Pokemon Crater was that it's too boring to play and unstable (it keeps crashing and not loading the site). I remember that the site went down and we all moved to Pokenon Deluge. I also stopped playing the game since Pokemon Black and White came out and I played a ton on DesMuMe DS Emulator with the anti-piracy measures of course (Pokemon unable to level up).
