    ARKEN SH-4J GEN II 6-24x50 Full Review
    In this video, we review the ARKEN SH-4J GEN II 6-24x50 an optic that surpasses everything in the sub 850$ (that we have found so far) with its big ticket features that you will be looking for for your long range or ELR build at this point we have found nothing that remotely comes close to this in terms of quality. if you are going to spend anywhere between 400-850$ this is the optic I would recommend. with its 34mm tube it houses 32 mils of internal adjustment (yes it tracks Excellently) with Japanese HD glass that you can nicely tell impacts on your target (out to 750M was easy) backed with a zero stop makes this optic irrefutable the optic of choice, hence why there is like 7-8 weeks backorder. I don't give this much praise to almost any optic. this one is exceptional

    I have the EP-5 and I love it. Also it's mounted on my Ruger P .338 LP. So far it has held up pretty well.

    I have the one you're reviewing right now. I ordered it a few months ago, the first one would not zero, so I sent it back and got another one so far it's doing great.

    I own three of these. Before I bought any of them I scoured the scope market trying to find another Brand but I kept coming back to this. A known quantity. I agree on the "eye box" comment. It is otherwise a very impressive unit @ the price!

    Have not used a sh4j. But went from their gen 1 ep4 to their new ep5. Turrets are still the same, excellent btw. But the glass difference is substantially better in the ep5, better parallax and added illumination. I'd imagine it's the same step up with the sh4j over the previous sh4

    Wow! Glass is mint in this one! My first ever proper scope I bought was the SH4 Gen2. Was amazing for bench shooting! Only gripe I had was the 3 lil silver grub screws that lock the elevation turret down, the hex heads would strip out! And I wasn’t even putting much pressure on them when tightening back up. They need to either use stainless steel grubs for this or change the design to lock the cap down.
    Other than that it was hard to let it go.
    Also, Arken need to do a scope with high magnification ie x28-34 😍😍😍

    I recently purchased this optic. I took a Precision Rifle 1 class (for the second time, two years from the first time i took it) and shot about 108 rounds of .308 Win with it in one day. I felt better behind it and liked it more than the Vortex Diamondback 4‐16 that i was running before. I agree that the eyebox is very tight which is good for training and getting centered behind the gun for me and building consistency. But it did cost me in a shoot off when i did not get perfect behind the optic and took too long to reposition and went over on the timed run. It is quite large and heavy, which i like, but others might not. Because of the tight eyebox, you may have to spring for a couple sets of scope rings to find the perfect height and comb height position. If i can get that dialed in perfect, and become more consistent with the eyebox through training, i will buy a second one of these. I really like the reticle. I like the big turrets. It tracks well. Great experience so far.

    I have this one on a 22 mag. It's a great scope. I agree about the eye box, and I wish the entire reticle was illuminated but they had to cut cost somewhere. Neither one is a dealbreaker in my opinion. It's a great scope at its price point.

    J'ai le Sh4 et le Sh4-j (6-24), je les ais mis un à coté de l'autre pour voir s'il y avais une différence. J'ai pas vu de différence, je voulais savoir si à 500m je pouvais voir mes impacts, et non. J'ai aussi regarder le soir avant la brunante et ils sont identique.

    So now the question is "how does it compare with the discovery ED PRS 5-25 " ?

    • @EpikArms
      @EpikArms  4 месяца назад +8

      The discovery is more comparable to the Arken EP5. This Arken has 8 mils per Rev while the discovery has 10 mils. The discovery has 36 mils and this one has 33 mils (not a big deal) but the fit and finish on the Arkens is better. Glasswise is a bit in favour of the Discovery

      @@EpikArms Thanks for that, much appreciated. Then I'll stick to the Discovery as my next scope.

    Wasn't impressed with the glass in the Gen 1 EP5 and SH4 but would be interested to look through a J series EP4. How does the glass compare? Is it significantly better?

    1:25. Correction for you bud. The optic (not the J) IS made in China, but they use Philippine glass... not Chinese glass. Good video.
