been doing this on and off for a long time. with the long reach tools, it's relatively ok to go in the driver side door but I was originally taught to enter the passenger side, so I still do. I'm fairly tall but I still have trouble with trucks and SUVs at times. I started carrying a three step stool to help with the tall doors. it's one of my handiest tools.

for one thing, if you break a passenger door, the driver/owner is gonna be less worried/mad than if you break the door they use! hehe

AMY HERNANDEZ you can put insert the wedge near the key hole! But you’ll need to pump extra air since the wedge only creates an opening near where you put it.

  • @stevewest2849
    @stevewest2849 2 года назад +7

Don't use that much force when attempting access from the door frame. This will most definitely cause window/door frame damage. I know from personal experience with another locksmith. Now the window frame exceeds the body line by about half an inch, allowing water and air seepage. Time to file a claim and get repairs. Yep, better yet don't lock your keys inside or have a spare handy.

In 95% of cases where the door has been tweaked a bit, you can usually bend it back by hand. This is demonstrated in the video below around 4 minutes in.

Until you need one to rescue you when you have car trouble.
And what would you suggest the towman use when you lock your car keys in your vehicle? A close hanger? A rock?
This happens to be the best way without possibly doing minor damage to the vehicles exterior and interior.
It can be done without the pump, but this just minimizes the possibility of scratches and scrapes to the glass as well as the inner and outer door edges.
      Therefore, it's you that suck.
Only those who improperly park or don't make their car payments have such hatred towards a tow operator.
The majority of their work consists of them rescuing you, your family members, and friends and neighbors from all kinds of motor vehicle situations.
Not only that, but there are more tow truck operators who are killed while on the job than all law enforcement agencies and rescue personnel combined each year.
Suck on that for awhile, won't you?

@@timothya.olmeda7299 while I agree with the majority of this, you are very wrong about more tow truck drivers being killed than all law enforcement angencies combined.
191 tow truck drivers died in the past five years. 284 police officers were killed last year alone.

    • @timothya.olmeda7299

      @@plaguebringer420
      There are exceptions sir.
And also more police officers died on 9/11 as well, but the fact of the matter is, more tow operators throughout the world are killed in traffic accidents than any other first responders combined.
In fact, on average (again an average year) 60 + tow truck drivers die while on duty in the U.S. alone.
In fact, there is even a museum called “The Wall of the Fallen at the International Towing & Recovery Hall of Fame & Museum in Chattanooga Tennessee.
As of last year, there are 450 individual heroes whose names are up on the Wall of the Fallen, which honors those who have died on the job, and the Survival Fund, which helps the families of those who were suddenly taken away tragically.
The two programs have criteria, so not all of the deaths are included that have been recorded and not all of the families (if any) apply to have their member on the list.
Towing is so dangerous that the tow industry a death rate more than 15 times the rate of U.S. private industry, according to the (NIOSH) Nat. Ins. of Safety and Health in 2019 for the years of 2011-2016.
Most of the deaths are from the driver being struck whilst standing outside of the tow truck.
Not only that, but there are also a substantial amount of individuals who are left paralyzed, paraplegic, crippled, on life support, etc....
Therefore, the next time you pass by a tow operator or see one up ahead in the distance, it would be wise to stay clear away, and even safely move over (in most states now it’s the law) and give a brother and a hero some room.
They don’t call them Highway Heroes for nothing.

@@timothya.olmeda7299 i never knew that. i always felt when i pass them on the freeway, they're so dangerously close to the traffic, what if they get struck? if their death rate is so high, the media should make people aware of it so they would take care to slow down when they see them. by the way, are you an american? i notice you use the word whilst, which is not commonly used here.
