I'm so glad you talked about this subject, it is always on my mind nowadays since I've been trying harder to work on virtue and having struggled with an eating disorder for 40 years, it is something that I started to worry about so thanks for getting into the details a bit. You guys are awesome!
7:52 “father Patrick gave a talk on lust in which he didn’t actually mention lust. Classic Irish move there”. Reminds me of something Conan O’Brien would say 😂
Are you doing all the deadly sins? The one I’m always unsure about is sloth - not knowing if I am just resting due to pain and fatigue from my arthritis or if I am perhaps being slothful and using the pain and fatigue as an excuse. There seems to be a fine line
@@bobspinelli2847 that’s the problem you think… Some places you read includes spiritual and physical. So having a definitive long form video by the fathers who have the theological knowledge would be good. Their long form discussions go into a lot of info that you just don’t have the opportunity to get from your parish Priest as they are busy and I wouldn’t even know half the things to bring up that these guys discuss in their videos due to their formal training. So they always manage to plant the seeds that mean I can then ask my parish priest more pointed questions if needed.
awesome video...I think it takes me 20 minutes to eat 10 meals. I know that it has a lot to do with finish your meal and you could go and play mentality. Even in my marriage, we don't have a kitchen table to eat at because of the junk on it, so we all eat on the couch.
I have a question. As someone who suffers from severe anxiety and depression I can go weeks or months at a time sleeping all day or not but definately not eating all day and then eating the equivalent of maybe two or three meals at once. I am a slow eater and it usually is over hours of the night until morning but this pattern comes and goes. Is this considered Gluttony? I have OCPD and my Psychologist said that my overcontrol can sometimes turn to 'leakage' and then becomes a loss of control in small areas like this. I hope I'm not being Gluttonist.
Sweatpants! Pajama pants, slippers, shorts, slouchy pants...curlers...immodest clothing ...- less respect shown - more likely to break mores and windows.
Love you guys very much, love love love the show, but before I listen to the episode I got to say thumbs down on beards. You're far too handsome father pine for a beard but that's just my opinion. You don't need to be handsome.. You're awesome! Anyway you all are! Father Joseph Anthony, ,the beard works for him though. Wait, that makes it sound like I don't think Father Joseph Anthony is handsome also. That's not what I meant at all. Ugg awkward. I am awkward. You're all wonderful, beautiful people. Love you. Love you!❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂
Fr. Gregory has one of the best laughs I have ever heard.

“Only criminals wear Jeans.” Can I request a short essay defending this point @frchapman?
Several of us on the men’s retreat did wear jeans! I have not yet confessed this sin and may withhold until Fr. Produces this essay.
Thank you Fathers for this! Hopefully you could also talk about vanity. God bless!

I think sloth is focused on our spiritual growth vice physical movement. Think Patrick on Sponge Bob Square Pants. Epitome of sloth.

I struggle with the same physical ailments and same spiritual confusion when it comes to sloth.

I believe gluttony is VERY INDIVIDUAL and needs to be seen as such.

Great podcast!
“Lolly, Lolly, Lolly, get your (gluttonous) adverbs here!”
St. FRANCIS did not wear jeans. He gave his clothes back to his Dad!
Jean wearers!🤣

You two are very funny (the jeans make you bad). Lol
This is my biggest problem i think
So Alabama Song "I'm in a Hurry to Get Things Done" is about sin?

Who wears jeans out..... Literally everyone, Brother.
Well, he's not wrong about the crime in Montana. Everyone here wears jeans, therefore all crime is in jeans.
These two guys are talking about gluttony, LOL! They don't weigh 150 pounds between them!
Umm.your point?

The jeans/crime theory sounds good. So why not stop selling extra large clothes to lower gluttony and end the obesity epidemic.
