    Sick 4runner man. My 2003 V8 4runner has so much more rust. Its so sad. Frame has a few holes. The front right tow hook I literally ripped off by hand. I have a horrible ticking from cracked manifold. Transmission lunges when downshifting from 2nd to 1st coming to a stop. It also has the dreaded ABS constant beep issue. I am determined to bring it back to life though.

    • @boundlessbuilt943
      @boundlessbuilt943  2 года назад +1

      Keep it alive man!!! Check your trans fluid level, my trans had demon in it for a bit after one of the trans cooler lines blew and I found that the fluid levels would drop even after a top off - I attribute this to the system “burping” and getting the air out of lines and such.

    • @SkinnySkinch
      @SkinnySkinch 2 года назад +1

      @@boundlessbuilt943 I have a CEL code that is for the transmission temp sensor or something like that. I THINK that might be my culprit for the hard downshift from 2nd to 1st but I didnt think about checking the level of the fluid. I'll try that. I have to get that ABS beeping figured out first though that beep is so loud and obnoxious I cant even drive with it. I really need to get my car lift installed. Once I get that done I will really bring this 4runner back to life.

      @@singlecabtundra0545 definitely not a knock. I’m wondering if it’s something in the valvetrain… I don’t think that’s an exhaust leak/crack either. Might need a valve adjustment but that could be a huge task.

      @@boundlessbuilt943 that’s kinda what I was thinking. I’ll give my mechanic a call tomorrow about it. Thanks for the feedback! Have a happy new year!

    How is the smell with windows up? Windows down?

      I don’t smell anything different. If you roll the rear glass down you smell exhaust vapor but that’s dependent on your exhaust tip angle
