Listen, it is hard for everyone to maximise their upgrade when they are brand new. Now Ferrari has a lot of info about their upgraded car on where perf window is and how far it can be pushed. We can only conclude after three races from now if they have worked or not.
Well McLaren started the weekend with a very skinny rear wing, and RedBull switched to something similar for FP3. Perhaps Ferrari missed the opportunity to do the same. Lower drag paid off more than more downforce.
How is launch related to sector 1?

Launch from the last corner onto the straight, which is where the flying lap starts. So it's acceleration in a straight line that is costing them, along with less tyre grip, which means his exits are more understeery. Hope this helps.

If look well charles was on the same pace specially on the 2nd stint the 7 second gab came from the 2nd stint so, we could say Fred did his job of delivering a competitive car now its about the drivers don't forget Imola is very difficult track to overtake
They underestimated their opponents severly it seems
