Man this race got me so hyped up what an absolute ball buster that we didn't get to see it. The build up, the atmosphere. the music and Dom in his American Muscle. Till this day I wonder who would've actually won that race
This scene with Dom is the most badass scene in the franchise, the transition from Tokyo drift to Bandoleros and seeing the Road Runner with the glowing red gauges just gives me goosebumps.
Honestly reality the S15 would’ve won, but knowing Fast and Furious they would make it a tie and have Sean ask why did Dom let off at the end. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Same here, I could tell that it’s likely the very same S15 that Lucas Black originally had used when he first raced against Takeshi aka Drift King, but seeing more pictures of the car, just warms my heart and it’s just so unique.
My personal head canon for this car has been Sean rebuilt Han’s Silvia like we see it in the end and even put the RB26 back in there too truly embracing the drift culture as his own and yeah he won hands down.
Man after being left up in the air at the end of Tokyo Drift as to how that race went down, I was so hype to see how it actually would play out in Furious 7, only to be extremely disappointed they just don’t show it period and just have a few lines of dialogue saying how it went which really didn’t explain much at that. I’m glad to know the S15 would drift rings around dom cause I really liked the look of that car more. Also the queue up of “You’ll Be Under My Wheels” playing as the countdown to go was happening was to me one of the hypest moments in all the franchise.

It feels weird, usually these cars had a story before the films, then they where recustomized for the big screen, after that, they where used back as before the films, and finally, these days are considered valuable movie cars and restored to their movie condition. With this one, its movie car status hasn't been restored still, and I like the fact that it's doing its thing and being enjoyed by his owners, but I'm kinda scared that it might get damaged or even destroyed before it becomes the movie gem that it also deserves to be.

I always thought the Silvia would have won. I wish in F7 they could have shown us the race between the two since we never actually got any footage of it. All we know is that Dom somehow won against Sean :P
he never should have wone aganst sean, but then again Dom always wins. one of the reasons why he's such a boring character after the first film. i liked the not knowing who won between him and sean. but F& ruined that, but then again they wend down hill fast after 3, 4 was bearable but 5 onwards were crap
That S15 reappears in Furious 7. According to the storyline, there’s a scene where it shows Toretto and Shawn talking which is after the race from Tokyo Drift. They actually couldn’t find the s15 from Tokyo drift to use in Furious 7 so they reached out to a few s15 owners including me to recreate that car for the Furious 7 scene.
not gonna lie, i liked the idea of sean getting an s15 since han gave him one in the movie (to pay tribute but hey han is alive now). and it looks nice.

It is not. That particular S15 is more a street-styled car. Fun tidbit, if you freeze-frame you can see that the car has some truly atrocious wheels on it that don't fit at all. Those wheels ended up on a red S2000 from Bulletproof Automotive that was supposed to be a background car but got nixed because it had no trunk and they couldn't fit in the fake drug chests for F&F4. They didn't fit there either.
I know Matt and was in Iwakuni at the same time he was. I'm sure he saw the movie but just didn't notice the car, because the premier was a pretty big event on base. There were awesome cars setup at the theater, including my mint Icelle Blue Pearl Evo VI and a Taniguchi S15 clone. I watched the movie and didn't remember it. At the time, I think Matt was driving his Sileighty. If not, maybe he still had the Prelude.

In 2008-2010, can’t remember wich year exactly, there were 2 wise square s15ˋs in Germany on the drift gp at Hockenheim ring . One was white with yellow wise square graphics and the other one was grey.
Matt used to live one town over from me in Connecticut, he actually did a small drift expo with that car at a show we put on while it was still in movie trim prior to the 2j swap. Cool car and small world
I had a chase to see the Wise Square silvia parked in Los Alamitos. The property it was on hosted radio control drift competitions I attended. Nice times. Quak Ly (sorry if i butchered his name) tucked the fenders on my 240 zenki when i took it in for an alignment. There was (probably still up) a, now old, video or two of him drifting on here somewhere.

I remember seeing the S15 go up for sale back in 2011, they posted the listing on Craigslist and was begging my stepfather to buy it. At first I actually couldn’t believe it was the actual car, but I did so much research on the car to confirm it.
I'm one of those rare people that actually was interested in the history of the prop cars in the Fast Franchise. Especially 2 Fast 2 Furious. Thankfully this prop car got its 15 minutes of fame in this video. Long live the S15.
As a racing fan I always liked "Mona Lisa". It has easy replicable graphics, sponsors everywhere and looks race spec. I really like the gauges in the midconsole. It is my second favorite after Brians Eclipse RS.

When I saw this movie in cinema and when I heard Latin Bandoleros I thought 50% chance it's Dom, but when I saw a glimpse of Roadrunner, when Sean make turn into the starting line, I knew 100% it's Dom. But I thought at first it was going to be Brian when Twinkie said the race challenger knew Han.
I had that car as a wallpaper on my pc for several years.. i never reverse image search, but did wonder where it comes from! Happy to hear how cool the story is and yes, i did not knew about its role on the movie

The Mona Lisa paint scheme fits Han. He may have been a fan of a lot of classic American tv shows since he talked about the scene about the cowboy riding into the sunset.

Maybe the producers had the idea to set it up, that sean took the mona lisa s15 and rebuild it, just like he rebuild his dads mustang... this wozld be convenient because the rb engine from mona lisa is in the mustang, so the other s15 got the sr20
I actually still have a photo of this car from 2011 on my phone. A friend and I had visited the shop of the then current owner, and I remember freaking out when I saw it as I didn't even know the shop had it and it's not like an S15 was common to see in the US in general.

Ive always said while i like the 3rd film alot its because of all those cars in the parking lot and in the gararge not the star cars built just for the film...when this film came out i recognized some of the cars already that get so little time in the film (and I dont mean just the model of the car etc) i wished we say more of it but we didnt its a shame all be it they were on loan/rental props as we call it-lol just expensive valued props . Some of those cars are better then the hero cars but everybody has diffrent tastes and perceptions and some of those cars in reality arent just going to show up in garage race lol. The one thing i didnt like as much is the way they cut the drift up the ramp later in the film ( I liked it for the pace and how its done but show the mid section of the ramp not just the start and end with a bit of cg looking tail wall bit)) as a car guy the actual stunt behind it that happened isnt really shown how much skill went into it as it felt cg a bit too much and cheated out the stunt itself. There are old tuner mags that did articles on that stunt and its a great back story of how its done with the skill involved

Some of those cars are better then the hero cars but everybody has diffrent tastes and perceptions and some of those cars in reality arent just going to show up in garage race lol. The one thing i didnt like as much is the way they cut the drift up the ramp later in the film ( I liked it for the pace and how its done but show the mid section of the ramp not just the start and end with a bit of cg looking tail wall bit)) as a car guy the actual stunt behind it that happened isnt really shown how much skill went into it as it felt cg a bit too much and cheated out the stunt itself. There are old tuner mags that did articles on that stunt and its a great back story of how its done with the skill involved
