- 2008 BMW E93 M3 Convertible Review and drive out. Like the E92 only with no roof! This is me talking you through and having a drive around in my '08 BMW E93 M3. It's a great car with a super sounding V8 engine. It's almost too good at everything it does. The only thing it doesn't do particularly well is in the looks department, it's not a million miles off looking like a normal 3 series. I don't mind that though and it gives it extra stealth appeal! For the money though, a V8 engine, rear wheel drive, back seats, convertible hard top, dual clutch 7 speed transmission - I'm not sure of any car that matches up to this, I don't even think there is one, let me know if you think otherwise...

Hi. I also have an E93 M3 on a 98 plate, and judging by the video footage, we don't live that far apart, a few miles at most. I enjoyed the footage but I would want to add that the M button is programmable to the level of 'mental' that you want. I am guessing that you must know this but it wasn't apparent in the video. The only mode you can't seemingly access outside of M mode is Power Plus, everything else can be dialled up. One thing I would like to know from you is how you got your roof to close on the key. I can open mine on the key but not close it.
Press and hold the lock button if I remember correctly.
I have an 2011 E93 325i M Sport in space grey with same int colour trim. It's a nice drive and sounds great but its not doing it for me. I think its time to find an M3 with same colours as i love the car shape, roof, comfort etc.....

Hi, this is my old M3, I fitted the wheel/spacers and did the exhaust modification,I sold it just over a year ago to auto100.
Can you ping me your e-mail? Keen to understand the exact style of wheels and how much the exhaust was modded i.e. 2 2.5 or 4 etc. cheers

Pedal Loud what a great video. I’m a big fan of these V8 M3’s. I have the pleasure of driving an E90 M3 back in 2010 and won’t forget the neck prickling sound of the V8 on an empty midnight road. Did you find out what the exhaust mod was?

I’m gonna buy this car in like 8 months or something. Not sure if I’m gonna get cab or coupe, I think I’m gonna go with the cab cause it’s really nice to be able to take the roof down

Hi, late to the party here I know. Would love a M3 E93, I've got a 2010 320i E93, i love it, annoys me Apple don't allow phone connection.
I use a blue tooth adaptor and just connect up my phone that way. Simples.

2.5 mod (see my other vid), it's the best of all worlds, no real drone at motorway speed and decent noise when you want it. Cheers

Thanks for the video. I used to own an e46 convertible and I loved that car. I'm getting the itch for another m car. Is your car lowered or do the wheels give it that effect?
+Michael Greco it's a good question. Embarrassed to say that in all honesty I don't know the answer. The wheels were on it when I bought it, I do think it has slightly different shocks than standard so it probably is a bit lower that combined with the wheels gives the lower look. The later style wheels do help to keep it fresher looking.

Never noticed a whining sound to be honest.

Mine was very realiable. Get a well serviced one. Check on the rod bearings and you should be good to go. The V8 in this is one of the best race derived V8s out there. It also sounds incredible.

I speak Spanish but I have been watching videos of this car because my dad has a friend who will sell it to him at a good price, the point is that it will be a gift, I still don't know how to drive, I'm 17 years old, and I'm nervous about Maybe after trying it they won't want to give it to me because maybe it's not an easy car to use. Any advice?
It's a clunky drive to get used to if its a DSG. They are easy enough though. They feel very solid and well built. It is a big engine though but it needs to be worked hard for things to get really scary. Just take it easy and you'll be fine. 17 is young for 414bhp though!!

Hello ! I’m ready to buy a 2009 e93 M3 ! Has 172000 Kms on ... do you think I might regret it in terms of reliability, issues , service cost etc ??? What should I be aware of?? Thanks
Not if you do research and are happy with the history that comes with it. Regular oil changes, tyres, brakes etc. Rod bearings can be troublesome if it's been used too hard from cold. You can get it checked to see how many launch controls it's done, average miles per journey etc. That will help inform you. So long as you're happy go for it.

@Dinami Ena If you're that worried then don't buy the car. It's a car. Things will break, perish and expire. Don't expect to have to pay nothing in garage bills. Factor in some contigency budget to get things sorted. It's an M3. It won't be cheap to fix when it does go wrong.

18mpg is normal, depends on how heavy your right foot is. It's not a 320d. 🙂
How many miles you have on it now?
Bought it with 66k on it in May'15. It's now on 76k and about to undergo a full 2 x day detail. Hoping to do a video on it.

I can see that when you're taking the roofdown your windows goes onl half way down. Do you know reason for this?
