The Brits seem to love the cringe humor. I dont know why. It so uncomfortable. The awkwardness of it is unsettling but they really pull it off in this series.
@@olliefoxx7165 On the whole, Brits don’t find it cringe at all, we appreciate intelligence behind satire, which is why we can instantly identify with critical comedy that is cleverly written like this - if it requires some intellect to work out its nuances, we find it much MUCH funnier. Americans tend to prefer a more direct and obvious kind of slapstick comedy, either verbally or visually, that doesn’t require much thought to ‘get’ but is a lot less critical and therefore more comfortable to laugh at. British Office is a nouvelle cuisine filet mignon medallion with a red wine jus and a lightly crisped asparagus tip, American Office is a giant tub of ice cream. Both totally different, both satisfying in their own right.
@@djanitatianaWhat he said was true tho. The British version sucks donkey sack and its so dry and bland. The US Office is actually funny and interesting. The only redeemable thing about the original is that if we never had it, the US Office would never exist.
It's crazy how much I've gotten used to American English as a German speaker. As I did when I was doing listening comprehension exercises at school, I have to concentrate extremely hard to understand or grasp British English. Kind of sad I know 😅
It doesn’t make any sense to me. I would not wish this show upon my worst enemy. The wretched accents, the Pam whose forehead could weigh herself down, the god awful looking people, bad camera quality, bad writing.
@@Anonymous_baka634I’m Aussie and I can tell you that the British version SHITS on the us version and it’s not even close. American humour is pretty shallow and bad, matches the country’s low iq
That's what america does. They are unable appreciate what's foreign, so that make remakes to match the poor familiar taste of the American audience. Their remakes are usually trash and borderline offensive to the original. The office is the exception, because they totally nailed it.
So weird, I love Ricky Gervais in almost anything (Afterlife is so beautiful and funny)... But can not stand The Office... I don't know it's just not my kind of humor I guess, the American version is also hard to watch. Something is wrong with me I guess. He's standup is freaking hilarious and is exactly my kind of humor...
How is this funny? Cringe, uncomfortable at times, awkward but not to the point of comedy. I love parks and rec, American office version and superstore so I’m happy with this done right. Here it just seems like stretches of silence and these actors performed like it was reality tv instead of satire of charactures which would have worked and did work in the American office version.

God, this show is hilarious and horribly painful- almost excruciatingly so, at times. Absolute genius writing (and acting)
0:43 Love how Brent says this sort of thing as if he's always being asked it 😂
Well. I'm angry. And not because I'm in it, but because it degrades wimmin - which I hate.
The double standards after he finds out it was his best mate and not Tim, is pretty accurate.

Did anyone else notice he dialed without look it up in his contacts? I mean, how did they remember all those numbers? Bloody dark ages.
I went out with a girl for six months in 1996. To this day I still remember her number, and would probably be able to dial it as quick as lightning
