I'm a Canadian. The Irish Rovers are a Canadian band. The band members have an Irish background, and possibly came from Ireland. I do remember this song. Thanks for sharing this. Cheers! ✌️

The Irish Rovers are amazing. I'd forgotten this song but I remembered it as soon as I heard it. I hope there are or will be more Irish Rovers reactions. (I'm working my way through the reaction videos from oldest to newest.)

I surprised you haven't heard of the Irish Rovers, but the again you are younger than me. The Irish Rovers had a big hit in 1967 called Unicorn. The Unicorn song is a folk song and written by Shell Silverstein wrote many hits including A Boy Named Sue.

I grew up in a small southern Ontario tourist town, on the Bruce Peninsula. Every summer seemed to have weekly parties like that.😊
Not even just on weekends 😁😎

This is real party music. I even think this song is good in the middle of the week to get me through. This is a side.of country we need. Life is tough and I need to just have fun! For me this is a big part of healing!

I had such a good time with this song every time they played it on the radio that my teenage daughter bought me the 45. I never had this kind of party. I just get sick if I have too much. The Unicorn song is also a favorite of mine from my senior year of high school. They played it on the rock and roll station along with the Supremes and the Stones and Sinatra (Frank and/or Nancy) and James Brown and the Beach Boys. We were a diverse bunch.

Being a Canuck I remember this band and this song very well. To top it off one of our local bands here in Calgary modelled themselves after The Irish Rovers, and of course this song was a staple in their shows. Wish I had a buck for every time I've heard it, I'd be a rich man! Thanks so much for this request Monika, it brought back many happy memories! And thanks Don for another great reaction!

Jim Stafford had a song about a party called “Little bits and pieces”. He performed it as a video on Michael Nesmith’s Television Parts and his video collection called Elephant Parts.

There's not a single wedding reception that goes by where that song is not played for a bunch of dancing drunk guests. At least in Canada anyway.

Hi Don I had not heard this version of this song, However, I heard the original version (written and released in 1973 by Tom Paxton) yrs. ago on Radio Free Geirgia. Toms version was a much more stripped down folk song, while this rendition was a much more rollicking party song. Really fun way to start a Saturday. Great request Monica and great reaction Don---#UTRCM

@Dwayne Spatula It always amazes me how much good music is out there that goes unheard. I've listened to a lot of music but I'm still constantly discovering songs from yrs. ago that I had never heard before. Have a good day.---#UTRCM

I didn't know Tom Paxton wrote this. I just listened to it but as usual, the one I heard first will always be my favorite. Tom Paxton has a different verse about cutting down the tree.

Thats why I quit drinking when I was 29 years old. I'd drink a pint & be 6 ft. 4. I got tired of feeding the judge. I fought every night.

I never was impressed with this song; the lyrics are weak and uninspired. The only vaguely-amusing part of it was the meme pics some videos have with it.
