  • Australia to Tighten Immigration Rules. Will This Affect You? | Vantage with Palki Sharma
    Australia plans to halve its immigration intake within the next two years. Visa rules for international students and low-skilled workers will be tightened.
    The measures will also see tougher minimum English-language requirements.
    Australia saw a record immigration of 510,000 people this year, which has added pressure to housing and sent rents soaring.
    Question is- will new immigration rules improve Australia's housing crisis? Also, the country wants to reduce immigration but it has a shortage of skilled workers.
    So how will the Land Down Under attract skilled workers amid new regulations? Palki Sharma tells you.

    Hopefully Canada will follow suit. It's bonkers here. Over the course of year 1 million people were let in and they want to have 500,000 more each year until 2026. That is a little more than double what was immigration numbers traditionally were. There is also pressure on the federal government to making requirements for foreign students stricter. This is a major issue across the western world. I think part of the reason is they want cheap labour since such a large segment of the working age population can't work due to drug addiction.

      The sad reality is only 5 percent of the immigrants enter into Canada as a skilled migrant. The rest enter as students majorly or fake claim of asylum and the worst of all they enter as visitors visa and then convert to either study or work visa. Those are the 95 percent of immigrants entering by finding loopholes which Canada needs to first stop.

    Government should look into upskilling people already in Australia to bridge the gap. For example, there is a huge demand for nurses, but the number of nurses who have a career break or do not meet unreasonably high English language requirements in the country are many. Plus I do understand it's not actually the native nurses fault per say... For eg.. In India the population n the variety of problem is so high that most of the nurses have to learn majority of things early on n they have a plethora of ppl to practically test it on ppl under someone's guidance, what they have theoretical learned. So by default they become more qualified even if they might be younger to the native counterparts.... Now all they need to do is just improve their language (I'm pretty sure these nurses would be having the basics but the finesse is what they would be lacking when they speak)(fyi the same problem happen within India itself I am South Indian who grew up in North so I can swit g between language very easily but usually more nurses come from South n they wouldn't be that good in the local language but still good enough to do the job... Australia economic are very bad now. If take in more refugees,the economic will worsen😢
    Australia need to learn from Singapore, why Singapore economic so strong and is the best country in the world; because Singapore is refugees rejection country, very sensible country👍

    • @leenathayil2039
      @leenathayil2039 4 месяца назад

      The reason is because Singapore is a very small country. That's why it cannot accept refugees even though people in Singapore and the government feel for the refugees' painful situation. There is lots of sympathy towards refugees but the country is way to small to accommodate.

    Good day,
    An immigration agent told me that all people who applied for 482 visas outside Australia are in for a disappointment as the Immigration Department is NOT prioritising offshore applications. This means the processing times are going back to the previous 3 to 6 months timeframes. People getting 482 visas in a few days or weeks is NOW A THING OF THE PAST in 2024.
    This immigration agent says he is 100% certain as he has people 'he knows in the department'. Not sure how true this is but if it is, this is bad news for you people waiting for those 482 visas. Your employers might probably retract on those job contracts.

    Australia should cut off 90% migration. And sure they will. Indian channels should worry about their own problems

    • @skar12
      @skar12 5 месяцев назад +1

      Why? Are Indian channels not allowed to cover stories outside India? Or are only subtle propaganda machines like channel 7 and channel 9 allowed to cover overseas stories? As a Lankan, you should be more worried about the problems in Lanka and not what Indian channels cover for Indian audiences.

  • @hdhnbggh8312
