- Global Population Crisis: An Economic Time Bomb | Vantage with Palki Sharma
Experts say that the global population crisis is a "calamity in the making". The global fertility rate stands at 2.1, which is below the 2.2 replacement rate. Fertility is dropping for women across all levels of education and income. It is happening across nations like America, France, UK, China, Japan, South Korea, India, Taiwan, and many others. By end of this century, most nations will see dramatic drop in population, according to reports. Countries are paying a big economic price for declining populations. This is because declining population means slower economic growth. This will have far reaching implications on superpowers like China, Russia and the U.S. A smaller population can diminish global clout of such countries. Question remains, why have countries not been able to fix the population crisis? Why are birth rates declining? Palki Sharma tells you.

Our economy struggling with uncertainties, housing issues, foreclosures, global fluctuations, and pandemic aftermath, causing instability. Rising inflation, sluggish growth, and trade disruptions need urgent attention from all sectors to restore stability and stimulate growth.

Quality stocks have underperformed the S&P500 this year, My $200k portfolio is down by approximately 20 %, any recommendations to scale up my returns on investment

The only American who won't acknowledge this Administration's failed economic policies is Joe Biden. "Shrink-flation' is the least of our worries compared to rising rents and stagnant wages, but it is an undeniable indicator of how bad our inflation has gotten. I would avoid index funds, mutual funds, and specific stocks for the time being. Right now, the best option is a fixed income of five percent. Put money aside for the times when the market really starts to bounce back.
45% of Americans do not invest in the stock market because of lack of guidance. Every year you don't invest, you are falling behind. I’m hitting numbers in the stock market I used to dream of… Going from $50k to $600k in my portfolio is surreal all thanks to insights from my financial advisor.

World is big enough for even a larger population actually. We can accomodate whole globe's population in a single state if we do it properly. But we need quality over quantity. And capitalism has reduced quality of living for everyone. Those who are not working hard are poor, stressed due to less money and those who are rich are working too hard, stressed due to too much work. Both cannot have children.

I understand that if half the population consumes same amount of resources then it is equally bad for the environment but it is not so in every case.
Some things are population-based. Like, food. More people will eat more food, less will eat less.
So more animals being slaughtered which is bad for them.
Good riddens. Nobody likes each other anymore anyway.
amen.
Here's why:
Imagine there are 20 glasses of water on a table with 5 people around it. Each person would show a lot of empathy and care towards each other, asking if they'd like a glass of water.
Now, imagine the scenario reversed. There are 20 people seated, and only 5 glasses of water are on the table. Here, they might fight, even kill each other, to have that glass of water.
This highlights the concern that World War III could happen over the fight for the greatest resource of all time: water.
Moral of the story - let the population decline.
Riddance, you mean. Funny!
riddance
😂
few people, little competition, in-off food, easy rule, healthy planet, great per capita, happy life.

Schwab and Julian Huxley will control your history browser and spy your search
But bad for corporations and the ruling elites. Less profits, fewer workers, smaller GDP and less power for them.
Fewer people qualified to keep the lights on too... Bet you never thought that far did you?
It is a welcome move. Already more than 8 billion of humanity is too much for the resources on the earth. Environment crisis has grappled us like never before. More economic activity means more damage to the environment & more wealth inequality.
HMMM yeah right ageing population
yep agreed.
Then you indian get less people, your the only nation super populated 😂
India n china should decrease n few other countries, the rest should go along replacement rate
But it should be done in a Systematic Way to avoid Population Collapse
Environment: Overburden the earth and resources! Reduce population!
Capitalists: Not enough labour or consumption ! Increase population!
Palki is examining this global phenomenon in a vacuum, without considering the broader global trends. We are amidst the fourth industrial revolution, characterized by automation, AI, and robotics transforming manufacturing and production. Consequently, economies will require less human labour, rendering a smaller population advantageous. The traditional notion equating a large population with higher production is obsolete in the wake of the fourth industrial revolution. India's burgeoning population, coupled with a surplus of low-skilled and no-skill labour (low literacy rate), not only will fail to bolster the Indian economy but instead becomes a looming time bomb for an impending socio-economic meltdown. The influence of the fourth industrial revolution will surpass that of the preceding three industrial revolutions combined. Dark days ahead for all who cannot keep up with global trends, especially places where overpopulation is happening such as India.
Population only matters to businessmen, the ordinary always suffer. Population= labourers is a pathetic and insensitive equation. Men and women are much more than labourers, consumers, and products. People are finally valuing happiness and mental health and this is seriously bothering those who see people as just labourers and products.
Our lives just cannot be a story of corporate slavery.... Let there be smaller population, let this bring back calm and quaint life back
I have been, saying this... But, whenever I do people think I am being unreasonable. We have enough population already. Let's, focus on the living beings here and help them live better lives instead of bringing more humans into an already chaotic world.
Exactly
Trust me...whole world really needs to do that...Good news for mother earth...❤
Let’s focus on science, business and technology rather than improving economy by keep f’king. Declining population is a good trend..
OVER POPULATION IS MORE DANGEROUS
2 billion less people than current population will mean more space for us, less refugee crisis, more water per capita, less digging the earth to destroy it for resources and a reduced threat of global warning............. It is sad that it cannot happen in 5 years!

less population can hurt 1 or 2 generations but a blessing for those beyond that
We are already overpopulated so we don't need to maintain this population. We should encourage people to have 1 child only it is good for them and future generations.
We are not overpopulated. The question you should be asking is why you were told that for a decade while the World birth rate was in Freefall for that same decade…
The process of shrinking population makes your group vulnerable to groups that are expanding. The members of the group competing for limited and shrinking resources (because they aren’t resources just sitting there - someone needs to make them available) see you as a problem and not one of their own. That’s what happened to the extinct cultures and even the Neanderthals and other hominids whose few remaining members hide from us and we destroy whenever we can. The two species in an ecosystem that fight each other the hardest are the most similar. They are struggling for the same niche. We are the same species but we don’t see it that way so it doesn’t matter. (There’s a fair amount of Neanderthal DNA in humans.) The demographic transition has been known to geographers for tens of years. human populations eventually decline to homeostasis. It’s the height of arrogance not to care about this personally because it’s the only reason you are here. Your ancestors strove. Now, if you really identify with the whole Humans family, have a look at Farmers. They are good and in sync with nature. We are nature, nor are we out of it. (25 points if you get that allusion.)

There are more people alive on the face of planet Earth today than have existed in all prior history. A population decline would not be a crisis, economic nor otherwise. Economics is basically the science of the creation and distribution of resources to people. More people require more resources. Automation allows us to produce goods at unprecedented levels. Fewer people with more production leads to a better future.
So, the health of the global economy depends upon what happens in the most important place of all..... - the bedroom 😂😂😂😂

In India we should not be talking about this. We are overpopulated. There are not enough resources for the entire population to have a high standard of living. The population needs to halve quickly. We can start worrying about population decline after the population decreases to 700 million.
Giving Money can't bring back the situation which is happening because of altered mental reality and perceptions of men and women.

The decrease in population to a certain limit is good and no need to worry about it because we are far ahead from that limit. Decrease in population will help our mother earth 🌍 to regain its healthy environment and reduce the problem of climate change.
