I don’t normally yell at the tv but I’m yelling, “Queen Elizabeth”, “Gone with the Wind(looks like Scarlett’s huge hat)”, “The Sound of Music doll”, “Hummel doll”!!! Alex is not excited by all the dolls but those are all highly collectible. Some of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. Love you to find a doll expert and talk about them. They’re incredible. And to have all those complete sets.

It reminded me of the Beautiful things
my Beloved Grandma used to find me
at Goodwill in the late 1960's and early
1970's and some of those dolls were
from the 50's and early 60's, were also
packed in pretty older suit cases in
pink, blue and one was black with flowers. Socks Shoes Clothes and Hats were there and Shoes with stockings.
One year for my Birthday (1971) she gave me an old Army shoulder bag
full of Paperdolls from the 50's and 60's.
They had came from an American Base in Germany! I still wished I had them!
    I miss them!

Agreed. Rather than guessing, Alex can just google the words on the index cards and find out what he has bought. This is how he learns stuff. Remember back in the early days of this channel, he had no interest in costume jewelry. Then people in the comments gave him some tips and now he knows to pick out the valuable items. Same with Pyrex.

It's so fun listening to Alex's reactions, he so obviously was once a little boy who played with matchbox cars: "It's like the fanciest little dress ever." It's a lovely dress, but all the sewing notes are what has my attention. My hobby is making journals decorated with vintage paper (postcards, receipts, ledger pages) and my fingers are itching to make a keepsake journal out of all those hand-written fashion notes and the sewing patterns -- what a treasure!

I would love to dig through each and every one of their suitcases, their accessories, and their provenance. Heavenly! Also, Little Red Riding Hood was instantly recognizable as a Hummel, but who knew there were dolls?! (Can't believe I'm so excited about the dolls. When my grandmother visited, she always got on me about my dolls and their sad state of undress. She insisted I get them all dressed. Quick, take a picture Grandma, it won't last!)

Fascinating. I am not a doll collector and would not buy a doll but I am very tempted by this collection due to ephemera that comes with them. It is like they lived their life and have their own story to tell. I think that their value is in individual collection of stuff. So make sure that everything is where it belongs Alex. Collectors will love all that.

I suspect each suitcase is a specific doll and it's accessories. And yes, thought that was a Hummel doll, they have a distinctive face. (Collectors generally removed clothing when storing a doll but kept parts together.)😊 The collector obviously loved her collection and stored it well. The amount of time and research is evident. Enjoying this!!!!TFS.

Think this lady was an avid doll collector. I think that each doll wrapped with all her stuff was what she played with like the country doll and all her belongings. My Great Grandma used to talk about when they "went visiting far away family she would pack her doll suitcase and that is what she played with while away". Never thought about how they did that but it would make sense like this. Have a great day

This reminds me of when I was a child, my family lived in a flat in St. Louis and in the 4 family flat next door up stairs was a woman named Susie, she had an old doll collection in her living room and bedroom. All of us girls in the neighborhood took turns going to visit her and fix her lunch for her.( never did know who did it through out the day) she was bedridden, Had a large piano in the living room and pictures of her sister in the coffin at the foot of her bed. We were all scared of the dolls and a little scared of her. Before she died she offered us a doll of our choosing, I don't think any of us took one. They were old and scary and this was in like the early 60s
