    Nobody smokes today in Spain, compared to ten or fifteen years ago, people smoked inside all the bars, cafes and restaurants. There was smoking special areas on buses and trains. Even thirty years ago, high school students smoked in class during exams and some years before that, teachers smoked in class in high school and in university.

    I think the most important one is the one about not caring about the status or money of the people you meet. It is real. We value people for their personality.

      Eso, repito, si que es realmente triste. Lo otro no es triste, es solo problemas domésticos suyos propios. Así como nosotros tenemos los nuestros propios, así como otros más tienen los suyos y punto. El mundo está lleno hasta arriba de todo eso en cada territorio y país.
      Saludos.

    As a New Yorker living in Portugal, all those observations remain true. After living so many years in NYC, one notices that life could be better. The quality of life is better in Portugal. You have to live it to truly know what you are missing. It doesn’t mean that life is easier. Salaries are lower but I have to say that I am healthier and happier living in Europe.

    • @salvador9369
      @salvador9369 7 часов назад +2

      It´s naturally, because the salaries are adapted to the expenses in the country.
      For example: In USA in general, maybe the medium salary is 2-3 times more than in Portugal o Spain, but in Portugal and Spain the expensives are 2-3 more cheaper than in USA or even more. In fact, in Portugal and Spain the citizens have many more number and quality basic public infraestructures than in USA in general and many more public basic helps, privilegies, etc than in USA too (quality public Health Care, quality public transports and more cheaper, etc).
      All of this, in the end, results in a much better quality of life and physical and mental health than in the USA. People have more time to enjoy their lives, they live more peacefully, safely, happily, they can keep and take better care of their own family and friends, their hobbies, their surrounding community, etc. All of this is the true quality of life, not just money and more money. No matter how much money you make in your life, if you have only worked to earn a lot of money and have not enjoyed it with your loved ones, in the end it will have been of no use to you. You will be disgustingly rich, but completely alone and bitter, because you will have left aside what is really most important in any human life... your own life and your loved ones.
      Regards.

    Eating schedules are late, because the whole country has its timezone *WRONG* !!! This has been explained several times at this channel in the past. We should have London's time, which is GMT+0, but we are using Berlin's GMT+1, which became de facto Central European Time. In Summer we even add an additional hour to make things more crazy, so we are GMT+2 half of the year, and thus the westernmost point of Spain in Galicia over Portugal, gets its sunset around 22h. So astronomical cenit, instead of being at noon 12:00 in summer, it's really at 14:00, so everything is shifted 2 hours during summer. Nobody who is sane enough, wishes to have dinner during daylight! As we're used to be that late 6 months, we do it also in winter.

      La zona más occidental de España es Canarias no Galicia , y si está en el meridiano de Londres por eso es una hora menos.

    • @rafarequeni822

      @@oscarsantas6528 Con 15º de longitud oeste, Canarias está un meridiano más al oeste que la península. Si España pasara al meridiano de Londres, Canarias pasaría a GMT-1, que es el que le corresponde, y seguiría siendo una hora menos.

      BlackHoleSpain estas en todos los canales de habla inglesa denostando las cosas de España y sin saber lo que hablas. El meridiano CERO estuvo inicialmente en Galicia, luego en la Isla del Hierro, PERO los ingleses que se creen los mejores del mundo lo cambiaron a GreenWitch. Más tarde durante la dictadura de España, Franco cambió la hora a la misma que Francia, Italia y Alemania por conveniencia comercial, no así para Canarias. Ahora deja de estar dando por saco.

      i see some people nuts in the comments because of your explanation, but you are exactly on point. And the better example is on the lunch time: our body is regulated by circadian cycles, which they repeat everyday. We go to sleep at night, we wake up in the morning, etc. According to those cycles, whatever are we aware of them or not, lunch time is when the sun is on the zenit, on its highest point. And, lunching at 14:00, we eat at the exact same time that those who eat at 12:00 according to the solar time. Thats it, thats all the explanation needed. We wouldnt lunch in the middle of the morning, while the sun still is two hours away from midday, from its zenit point. At that hour, as much, a breakfast, which we use to do around 11:30.

      Maybe you say that because you don't have a frame of reference of how noisy they can be in the US and what you consider noisy isn't that noisy for them.

    Ok, I think it's great that there are things about Spain that you like, but as a Canarian I detect a problem (A problem that the population of the Canary Islands and Andalusia already express in public by wanting to throw out English and Americans) When an English speaker comes here, they DEMANDS that we speak English in public places how; banks, restaurants, post offices and public administrations... and they also use our public services paid for by Spanish taxes for years. *Oh, yes, we Spaniards are kind and polite, but it cannot be that entire areas are full of English or Americans and they, in their countries, complain so much about immigrants. Would it be possible for you to stop trying to get your people to emigrate to Spain to scratch their bellies?*

    People in San Sebastián are the BEST dressed in Spain, not like those bums and ragtag in Madrid.

      Madrid es muy grande. Vete por cualquiera zona de vinos de la zona norte o pasea por sus calles un domingo a la mañana. O por Barrio Salamanca. Me quedé asombrado de como vestían de bien.
      Me encanta San Sebastián y la ultima vez que fui un sábado a la tarde me quedé un poco asombrado porque vi mucha mezcla de estilos

    Dear Danielle, the food is not what it seems, all the wheat and wheat derivatives come from transgenic crops resulting in a glycemic index skyrocketing even further than when eating white processed sugar. Really really I would suggest you to avoid relying on flavours with the purpose of trying to identify the healthy and the unhealthy stuff. I am afraid that tastes and flavours don't correlate with what is or is not healthy.

    • @salvador9369
      @salvador9369 7 часов назад +1

      What you are trying to explain to her has nothing to do with what she said in her video. They are two completely different concepts.
      Also, how is it that she should avoid flavored foods? 100% natural foods have always had flavor too.
      On the contrary, in her video, she has made the distinction between artificial flavor and natural flavor perfectly. She has described very well what the real difference is between artificial (junk food that passes itself off as normal food) and real natural food. How really good food with 100% natural and fresh ingredients tastes, even if only a couple of ingredients are used, which tastes much better than a food with a lot of artificial ingredients.
      I don't know what part of her video you heard but it has nothing to do with what you are saying, with all due respect.
