- The final round of this epic bout. Ali continues to land punches to the head on Foreman. Ali finally manages to knock Foreman to the ground. In one of the biggest upsets in boxing history, Muhammad Ali regained his title on October 30, 1974 by defeating champion George Foreman in their bout in Kinshasa, Zaire, hyped as "The Rumble In The Jungle.
It’s hard now to articulate how amazing this was. I had been and was a great Ali fan, since the beginning. I was worried for him going into this fight, not that he might lose, but that he might get killed! Ali had fought famously hard fights against Frazier (to whom he lost on points)and Norton (to whom he also lost on points). Foreman had walked through and destroyed both Frazier and Norton, knocking them out in two rounds each! It looked so easy for him, where Ali had struggled and lost. I was working nights when the result came through “Ali knocked him out”! I thought it must have been a mistaken announcement! Incredible!
This Is Why He's The Absolute Greatest Of All Times 😅 🙏💕
Not just a great boxer but a great humanitarian.
It was watching these fantasic fights as a kid that got me into amature boxing
Best days of my life.
2:49 look at the greatness of Ali...
You can see very clearly Ali did not hit George when he was on his way to the canvas, Ali knew the fight was won and did not inflict more punishment on George, Ali is the greatest of all time and he knew when to stop
This fight will be remembered forever in boxing history Rip 🏆 champ
Most skillful boxing ploy ever...ROPE A DOPE!!
FOREMAN THE LION ALI THE RINGMASTER,ALI WAITED GOT HIS CHANCE AND HE'S ONE OF THE BEST AT FINISHING
I understand that rope a dope technique that Ali invented, but, that was dangerous because ref could've stopped fight as Ali wasn't returning punches. Ref didn't know Ali was baiting George
And thats why he's the greatest ever!! Played foreman like a violin!
Ali'❤️😢RIP.
Foreman wasn't hurt,he was out of gas and he knew it,thats why he let the ref count him out.He was already tired by the 5th round.Ali predicted this before the fight that Foreman would tire, styles make fights. Both great legendary boxers.R.I.P.Ali.
Ali hit Foreman about 6 times in a row, with the knockout punch coming last.
Ali could have hit Foreman 4 or 5 times as Foreman was falling but had too much class and sportsmanship for that. Foreman used hit all his opponents while they were going down.
Ali lets Foreman tire himself out then launches a devastating attack - remember he was 32 then, past his peak, but still too good for Foreman, who was considered unbeatable,( they said that about Liston too ).
THE GOAT
After seeing Foreman destroy Frazier, people must have thought Ali’s chances of winning were pretty low.
I highly recommend watching the 1996 Documentary, "When We Were Kings" to truly appreciate how great Muhammad Ali was in this Fight
Best heavyweight boxer in History vs Second Best Heavyweight boxer in history
