I can't thank you enough. I've been sick for about a week and discovered your channel. I humbly make a request: is it possible to find the full Frazier Bonvanena rematch? Clips exist, but I would be incredibly grateful to see the full fight.
If not, please let me thank you one more time for your wonderful channel. You've posted timeless fights between warriors whose names will never be forgotten.

@@ruffknight9549 😂 exactly. Frazier happens to be my all-time favorite fighter, so I'm probably a little bit biased. I do think he narrowly won. I've never seen their full rematch, it's not on RUclips, but I've seen clips. Bonavena was a hell of a fighter. He had Ali in trouble in their fight too, granted Ali was very rusty coming back from the suspension.

I’m from 61, so I remember Ringo very well, he was a multifaceted character.
With great personality, spontaneous, friendly, enter and good-natured ...
An out of series right and lovely guy inside and outside the ring.
He lived on Av Las Heras and Salguero.
More or less on the 10th floor. An aunt of mine lived in front and at the same height. More than once I could see it from afar. I have very much in mind all his career and adventures, although I regret very much what happened in Nevada.
Anyway, I only remember the good times of this extraordinary popular idol. Greetings

Bonavena problem to why he lost decision was two fold he was focused on knock out punch instead of trying to get his jab and combinations working that lead to those knockdowns against Fraser in early rounds. Second he started to go into cruise control. Thinking he had a big enough lead on points, that he didn’t need to work too hard. That is where Fraser started to smoke and knew he had to win most of the rounds to win the bout. But that fight definitely opened the way for a rematch.

Saludos

It was evident by what George Foreman did to him twice that the super sized heavweight fighters of recent times would have destroyed him. Bonavena won this fight. And he was leading against Ali until Ali dropped him in the 15th. So many good heavyweights at this time, Chuvalo, Quarry, Boneveana, Ingo. Even Patterson was competitive. And Foreman and Holmes and Norton coming up in a few years. Wow, there should have been an international Heavyweight title for guys not fighting the big 3 heavyweights.
(Ali, Frazier, Foreman). Round out the group with Ron Lyle and Ernie Shavers and keep them busy with a lot of great fights headlining just the core talent which was so deep.
Because the money was on just these three we have some serious gaps in matchups that never happened. Think about it:
Ken Norton never fought Joe Frazier. That should have happened!
No rematch between George Foreman and Ali??? The champ always gets a return bout right?
    Foreman never fought Larry Holmes?
Because of this, you cannot rank a few of these fighters against the all-time great. You can have an opinion, but you need to prove it in the ring!
A similar thing happened during the 1950s with middleweights: Champs Robinson, Fulmer, Lamotta, Graziano, Basilio, and Zale.
All 6 were champs, But Robinson would not fight Tony Zale, even after comedian Jerry Lewis offered Robinson $300,000 dollars in 1956 money to fight Zale.
And Tyson should have fought Foreman for lineage rights.

Disclaimer: I am not Argentinian. I'm just an educated box fan.
My take on this fight: it should have been a draw. Why?
1-Oscar won 3 rounds. The second round should have been scored 10-7
Frazier was the aggressor bur he never had Bonavena hurt. Two rounds were even.
2- Frazier came back on the third the same way Pryor did after the infamous drink he had on the Arguello fight. Nobody can tell me that Frazier could come back like nothing happened on the 3rd round the way he did without some corner "help".
3- I counted about 24 intentional low blows from Frazier and just 3 from Oscar. Oscar also hit Frazier 2 times behind the head intentionally. Oscar only complained about a low blow in the 7th round. I can't imagine any of today's boxers going without complaining for 1 round after repeated low blows.
Frazier was good but he cheated big time on this fight and the scoring was old style. Oscar's corner didn't give him any special juice during the fight and that was obvious

To be honest, thought it was a home town decision. Thought Bonavena shaded it.

@branded beast Don't think race is an issue here. The fight was at Madison Square Garden, New York. U.S. boxing fans would always back their own man.

@@goyonman9655 you are on drugs. they won 5 rounds each and ringo knocked him down twice, frazier didn't fight well enough to erase the knockdowns.

Man, you are the only one i see, who got a real attention at this fight. There is nothing serious Freizer done to Oscar, but Oscar really troubled Freizer. Seems both had equal counts. So, where is advantage? Oscars side.

I'd say Bonavena might have slightly won that fight. He knocked Frazier down twice in the 2nd and Frazier won a bunch of rounds in the middle. But, Bonavena scored well in the 10th too.

Bonavena definetly won this fight. Those judges were very biased against him. He outpunched Frazier and seemed to his 2nd wind as Joe seemed to slow down and get more sluggish in his form.
