We have a similar greenhouse. We over-engineered it to survive tropical storms/hurricanes up here in the Atlantic.

Praying for the greenhouse to be able to take the winds ,made a huge difference when Patrick put the wood down....Pray for the best prepare for the worst ! Hope the storm goes thru quickly! With low wind.

My GH will be here on Saturday & here is my idea to anchor it. I have a big pile of pavers
left over from a failed project. BEFORE I erect the GH I will stretch out 3 ratchet straps across
the narrow width of the GH footprint. 1 towards the front, 1 towards the back & one in the
center. Erect the GH over these straps THEN lay down the pavers for a floor OVER the
straps. Once done, bring the straps up & over the horizontal frame pipes which run along the
ground & ratchet the straps taunt. The straps will hold the GH frame to the pavers & those
pavers aint going NO PLACE. Concrete dont fly.

Why didn't you pull the plastic tight before screwing the 1x2's in place so it would not be so loose?
In my area they’re very nosy and will Karen call on you if some thing is not within code.. so I think I can by pass this issue if I don’t permanently have the cover on and take them down when winter is here , of course that’s if my tie down and weight is good enough to hold it down …
Hopefully this thing doesn’t end up a hole in the boat and keep pouring more money into it vs a actual solid frame greenhouse
Might have to attach some twist style anchors to the wood perimeter for really strong winds. Also in the future look into using Wiggle Wire, it's worth it. I had some smaller ones where I trapped the plastic like your with the thinner strips and they eventually split a year or so later. The wiggle wire holds really well and doesn't have to put holes into your plastic.
Only other thing is possibly to add a middle support bar on the inside for snow weight. I don't know where you guys live but we got our first ever 1ft of snow in one night last winter and it took out our $500 greenhouse frame overnight. I've lived where I'm at for years and never seen that much snow in one night in my 35 years.

I ordered the 25' one & planning on putting 4x4 fence posts in the middle of it for stability
If you're going to use one of these hoophouses and expect it to last any time at all you need to make a few upgrades. 6 1/2 feet isn't tall enough, Tomato's, Cucumber's and Okra will all grow taller than that, also it needs additional structural stability added or you will be gathering up a twisted mangled pile of metal tubing and plastic from the other side of the field or yard the first time you have strong winds. The provided anchoring system isn't adequate. Here are a few things you need to do. First, build a frame of some kind, like out of treated 2x12 lumber raising it 12 inches and anchor the frame to the ground then attach the hoophouse frame to the top edge of the 2x12 frame, 24 inches would be even better making it 8 1/2 feet tall. Next frame in the doors with 2x4's, then add 3/4 or 1 inch PVC ribs in between each of the metal ribs. RUclips channel Gardening in Mississippi with Jim has a great video on this and other mod's he made to his Quicktent. There are many good videos on how to modify your hoophouse to add strength and stability but his is one of the best I've seen and I've watched dozens. All you have to do is do a youtube search. I just bought a Papajet brand 28x10 that's 7 1/2 feet tall marked down from $299 to $189 from Walmart online and the above mod's are what I'm gonna go with. Hope this helps, good luck.
Great Idea. I'm purchasing one of these greenhouses next week and am worried about the wind gusts we get up here in the High Desert. they can sometimes reach over 80 mph
Last spring after we put it up there were 3 different times wind gust turned over this greenhouse. I have to say it is very sturdy! There are a few bars that were bent but each time we were able to put it back up. We recently moved and we will be setting it back up on the new property soon. I'm actually very impressed by this greenhouse .
I'm setting up same this weekend. Thanks for the video, very genuine. I'm curious why you didn't pull the cover taught as you attached furring strips? Also, I notice the gable end cover flapping as it allows wind to blow under. I guess that needs to be secured too. Probably come up with some swing door solution at one end. Thanks again!
Going to nail boards all around the bottom and front and up the side of door just the budget was not there yet for treated wood I left it loose till we get large steaks to secure the frame I'm going to nail them to the 2x4 . Thanks for watching and hope you share how your goes
Over the long haul, how did this work out?
My door cover has velcro on one side and nothing to connect it to, so is it suppose to be lose?
I got the Quictent 9x10 and made some support mods with garden t-post on each leg and a 4x4 post attached to the top and buried in the ground. My only issue with it was the much of the Velcro on the window just doesn’t line up that good. So trying using rare earth magnets which should make a difference. Problem is the poles are crap metal and are too thin. I have a similar greenhouse and did the same thing. But the wind just bent the poles while standing.

PLease roll the wood strip up in the plastic starting from the end and roll it up until its tight and screw the the whole thing. You get a better connection across the whole thing and not just where you screwed. Just saying

That way you can also roll up the plastic when it's real hot out. Also you could roll them up to the very top so that there's less surface area for the wind to grab ahold of. I live in an area where the wind blew my 40 ft shipping container full of stuff three and a half feet off of its foundation. That was not fun putting back with no heavy equipment. I did it with bottle jacks and a come along. So I know about securing things for wind. Nice job doing what you all are doing and know that you're doing the right thing because this world is going down the toilet
