You gave us AWESOME ideas to secure our green-house from blowing AWAY..... In the WINDY CITY OF CHICAGO!💪💞
That is awesome thanks for watching let me know how yours turns out!
Chicken being nosey was cute
That's our pet chicken Pretty Girl. She was a stray that just came on to our property one day.
Watch the our video Our Stray Chicken.
WAS JUST GIVEN THIS GREENHOUSE BY MY SON AND SO APPRECIATEYOU GUYS SHOWING ME HOW TO SET IT UP... GREAT JOB..
Glad it was helpful! We tried to capture what we thought would help others do it as well.
Thanks for your
comment!
Let us know how it turns out for you.
Looks awesome. You did a great job. I think I'll buy one of these. You convinced me.
Thank you for stopping by our channel!
Great its a good greenhouse for the price, just make sure you reinforce it like we did.
@@OurBackwoodsHomestead will do!
Thank you guys for sharing. This is awesome. I just brought the same outsunny, but smaller 11.5 / 10/ 6.5. I'm in Kansas City, The unpredictable Show me state
Great video, it baffles me how people do not even think they need to reinforce these greenhouses. The people who do not do the modifications are the ones who are surprised in the rain or wind rips the greenhouse down. Keep up the great work. Thanks!
Thank you for watching and your truthful comment.
I'm looking for a bigger one like this. I have two of the smaller ones and I go overboard with rebar to make sure they aren't going anywhere 😂😂😂
You did a fantastic job I am looking forward to having one close to yours.
Thank you let us know how yours turns out with a video !
Really like how you fastened down the bottom, great idea will be doing the same thing. Thanks for the video.
Glad it was helpful let me know how yours turns out.
Good job
Very professional job!!!!! Thank you! I feel comfortable now to install our new tunnel!
Thank you yes you can do it ! Let me know how it turns out.
Hey Tony It looks really great! the windows are a plus. Thanks for sharing my friend! Thumbs up from us
Hey thanks for the comment and stopping by our channel guys!
Hope this Greenhouse holds up to the weather, gotta get the inside done now.
I'll get over to your channel here soon and check out what all your planting. We've been sick and haven't been getting over to channels lately.
Good job, great info. 👍😆
Glad it was helpful!
I have the same greenhouse. I however live on the Canadian east coast. Lots of snow and wild wind storms.. The wooden base and rebar is a must !!! I did frame out a door on mine and added a ridge pole for the snow we get.. I also bought a roll of 6mm plastic film and placed it over the original plastic. I do have vents on each end wall.
Sounds great I'm glad it worked out for you! Did you Do a video of it?
One of the best mods to these kind of green houses awesome job guys
Thank you for watching and your comment.
Great job , well done
Thanks for the comment!
Very very nice added design. Thanks a lot for the ideas
Thank you so much hope it helps!
I would love to see a quick update! You did a great job
Thank you soon as I can get time I will do an update video its holding up really well.
That was so much work! I know y’all are wore out. Looks great though. God bless y’all. Carol.
Thanks Carol yeah it was a lot of work, but I don't think it would last long just putting the tubing up without any support.
Hope it holds up.
I plan to also reinforce the arch at the top with 2x2's
Yes that would be good to do, it would stabilize it better. I never got around to doing mine, but it's held up great still standing.
What a nice video to watch. Thoroughly enjoyed both parts. You look so comfortable doing it. Thank you so much for sharing it here on RUclips. I just bought one of these and I am going to follow the same steps as you did. Hopefully the wrapping sheet lasts for at least 5 years in Toronto's weather. Thank you again. Hope to see your video on what you guys grew in it and how is it doing now after an year.
Hello and thank you for watching both videos! I hope it was helpful & able to use what we did to help guide you through yours.
Let's is know how it turns out!
I love doing these videos we'll have some new content soon on our new cabin.
That was a lot of work but I totally understand making sure it was more secure and framing the doorway. I think I'd like a door, maybe on both ends for when it really gets hot. Nicely done. I look forward to seeing how it holds up. I love the windows.
Yeah it rained hard last night with storms and it held d up fine no problems, yes indeed im putting a door on the back end for sure maybe the front too. Thanks for your comment.
Thank you so much! I,m saving to get a polytunnel and was wondering how to secure it well. Very informative and a great help to my future project. Stay safe and well.
Glad it was helpful! yeah it has to be supported like we did in the video. It has heled up really well with 60mph winds.
You did an excellent job! I bought a much smaller one due to the size of our yard (and also trying to avoid my husband complaining 🤪), but I definitely intend to brace it as well because I know it will blow away if I don't.
You can do it you don't need much room for these, its really been holding up really well even with the bad storms we have had.
Thank you for your comment and hope yours turns out well.
@@OurBackwoodsHomestead Can you make a update video on it? Would love to see how it held up a year later and your thoughts on improving etc!
@@elbayanela Thank you I sure will !
That bracing is great! Sure doesn't look like it's going anywhere!
Its really strong without the braces not so much.
thank you.
You really did a fantastic job. Great idea to keep it secure & steady. I'm getting ready to put mine up today. I have the 20 x 10 x 9.
Thank you so much! Let me know how it goes for you!
That what size I got good luck
@ Beverly Phillips I think its the perfect size.
Beautiful job!!
Thank you! 😊
Looks amazing!! Great job !!!
Thank you it took some work but we finally finished it!
so how did you attach that extra strapping? do you have a closeup picture?
You just get hooks screw them into the other 2 x 4 base and tighten them up its really simple its been holding up well for 2 years now. thank you!
Thank you for such a good video. How is the poly tunnel holding up?
Hi, great video, I seen someone else who instead of tying outside straps diagonal, they placed the straps going straight up and over in the middle of each window/section, saved him tying up any window as the strap held it.👍👊
Thank you for the comment! Good idea !
Why you no put hot spot tape on the pipes, they get hot and melt the plastic won't last as long
It doesn't need any of that type of tape the plastic is really tuff. I only put foam tape over the screws so it wouldnt catch on the plastic.
Thank You For The Video Sir !
I am quite ignorant! I just learned about these types of "kits" I was saying to myself, "how in the world are these stable"? Well you just showed the proper way Sir!....Thank You!
How has the Greenhouse held up over the year sir?
Oh PS:
In the part of the video, which showes you hammering the rebar in fast motion, John Henry by Johnny Cash popped into my head! L0L
Watching From Iowa 😁
Glad it was helpful to you! It has held up really well still standing through all the bad storms we have had in TN. I plan to do a short follow up video on it sometime this coming spring.
If you follow what we did I think you have good luck with getting one like ours. thanks so much!

Thank You Sir for the reply, and I will definitely check out your other vids, and look forward to seeing future ones!!
You & Your Family Have A Blessed Christmas Holiday!!! 😊
Very nice!
Thank you 😊
This video needs an update proving these modifications were successful. I’m wondering how drilling additional holes in the pipe worked out? I would’ve used strapping to avoid weakening the conduit but I could be wrong, maybe it worked great?
Hello Yes I plan on doing an update on this Green House video just haven't had the time. I didn't do the extra support yet but as of now its holding up great no problems at all. Thanks for your comment
how will you keep it warm inside?
Some people use solar and I've seen other use propane and electric heat. Here's a link to my friends that use a warming box to put plants in when cold. We don't do anything in the winter at this point as we dont have power out by our Greenhouse. Thanks for your comment. ruclips.net/video/m_11I0wgdXY/видео.htmlsi=7gfZG36fClJzm70o
Dear ,any update about your polytunnel?
Not yet I plan on doing an update in the Spring.
LAUGH and MOVE ON! :)
I just bought this and I plan on reinforcing it like you did, how has it held up?
You will like it easy to setup, it has held up really well even through the storms.
Thanks so much for making this. My wife and I just watched both videos. What kind of strapping did you you? The link isn't working now.
We just had our Outsunny greenhouse arrive yesterday. This week I have to work on cutting support posts to go in the ground a few feet. We get some pretty high winds and the occasional downdrafts from tornados in East side of-Central Texas. I knew it was light but didn't realize how light.
I am so glad we watched your video first to see how it went up. I definitely need a few more supplies to make this happen. I want to put it up with all the support the first time.
I will have to fix these links netsuke why they aren't working.
You can use any kinda of strapping look at Lowes or Home Depot.
You can also use rope to go through the eye hooks.
Thank you!
@@OurBackwoodsHomestead Thank you 😊 I have a ton of rope on hand. I always find something that needs thin and thicker jute rope out here. I got posts to put in the ground to secure our greenhouse to. My wife and I are going to work today to get this beast of a greenhouse up. 🤞
@@Haunted_Thyme Thats great let me know how it turns out. Are you gonna video it?
@@OurBackwoodsHomestead We are videoing the process. It turns out I had to take down a couple of dead trees before we can finish putting it up. The frame itself was not too confusing thankfully. We had to move it out of the way before I attach it to the posts, so when I felled the dead trees they didn't destroy the frame.
I have one more tree to fell before I can finish. Severe weather is coming in a day or two, so I probably won't get to finish the greenhouse setup until closer to April with our schedule hampering when I can get stuff done.
Your videos were really helpful in our assembly of the frame though.
How do you keep the windows closed so cold air doesn’t go in on freezing nights or days?
We have flaps to cover the windows on ours, we leave them open in the summer for air flow & closed in the winter.
Watched the video from 2 years ago about the outsunny greenhouse and i was wondering is it still up today
Hello! Its still holding up great! I plan on doing a follow up video after this weather gets a little cooler.
No damage at all its been through many storms we are amazed at how well its held up!
Thank you!
Thanks a lot
How did this hold up?
Over 2 years now and it's still standing! Through many storms, snow...
I'm amazed how well the bracing has held up.
I need to do a follow up video.
How did everything hold up and did you add any more reinforcements? Thank you for making these!
It has held up very well, been through many storms here in Nashville and its still standing. I will do a follow up video sometime this summer 2023. thank you!
Is it still holding up? I'm thinking of building a greenhouse out of cattle panels. It would be cheaper to buy one of these but I have a bad feeling about them being a waste of money!
Ours just went through a bad storm here in Nashville and its still standing no damage at all. We will at sometime do a follow up videos on the Greenhouse. Its been through many storms since we put it up and has helded up due to the reinforcing we did in the video. Thanks for your comment!
I used 12" long Rebar J hooks to Anchor my greenhouse down..
That's what we did good deal!
@OurBackwoodsHomestead I had too I live in Oklahoma and we get 80 mile an hour straight line winds that come with no warning my greenhouse has survived a few of them already its only because of the J hooks
Do you have to use the rebar to hold in place? I just put mine up and secured to 2x6, but the ground is full big rocks, more like boulders. Was hard enough putting in stakes for fence, had to keep pulling up and trying different location.
Yes I did use rebar as well to reinforce the bottom wood frame.
Its really strong we've had 45 mph winds and its still holding up.
I show putting down rebar in the video.
Is it still holding strong 2 years later? Did you have to buy new plastic?
Yes still holding up no problems at all. I will do a follow up video soon just been too busy with my business right now. Still the same plastic as well.
@@OurBackwoodsHomestead Thanks so much for the replay. I just put up a similar 10x28 greenhouse with the same style plastic and poles. I was really worried I was wasting my time beefing this thing up. Thanks for putting my mind at ease. Have a great week.
Can these greenhouses withstand snow? Would it need more steadying?
Yes they can, we had 5 inches this past winter. You will need to do the reinforcing as in my videos, I didnt brace the frame at the top but we've had no problems with it holding up. Its been through storms, wind & snow I'm really amazed that it has held up.
Note to self.... "Bring clamps! 🌬️
Absolutely 😆
🧑🌾🇨🇦🧑🌾Betty and I are planning on getting the sand style of greenhouse. What is the quality like? Does it stand up to strong winds?
The quality is not bad for the money the tubing is only 1/2 inch tubing so you will need to reinforce like we did.
We have only had it up for about 3 days will let you know how it holds up in the wind.
Tks Tony. Please connect and keep in touch!
What was your total cost?
Cost 209.00 for the kit with free shipping.
We already had some wood for bracing, screws, rebar and weed-block.
We had to buy the 4 1x6x10s for the base framing.
The total was about $390.00
thanks for watching!
@@OurBackwoodsHomestead Thanks!
My husband and I just purchased our outsunny 20x10x7 greenhouse, and we watched both of your videos. Loved them. However, we didn't see the link you mentioned about the people who showed you how to frame it or use the braces. I couldn't see the types of staps you used for the top. Could you please let me know. We live here in Missouri, and we get pretty good storms here . I don't want my greenhouse to blow away 😂. Thank you for any help and for sharing.

Thanks I'll check out your channel.
FYI - All you Lowe's links are broken
Hey thank you for letting me know. Looks like they have changed where they are on the site. I just said you can get them at Lowes now.
