  • Here's part 2 putting up our OutSunny GreenHouse 10x20x7 out back of our property.
    This Green House has 1/2 tube light weight metal framing, we did some reinforcing as you can see in the video.
    It comes with the tie down rope, PE Plastic covering that fits the frame with (Correction eight roll-up windows.)
    Four ground stakes, and tether balls to secure to tubing ,and tape included.
    We paid $209.00 with free shipping for it about 3 months ago @ this website site its already gone up to $236.99. Our total cost with all the extra supplies came to: $389.00
    You might can find it on Amazon as well and Home Depot.
    We will let you know how it holds in in the feature after we use it this summer.

    Great video, it baffles me how people do not even think they need to reinforce these greenhouses. The people who do not do the modifications are the ones who are surprised in the rain or wind rips the greenhouse down. Keep up the great work. Thanks!

      I'm looking for a bigger one like this. I have two of the smaller ones and I go overboard with rebar to make sure they aren't going anywhere 😂😂😂

    I have the same greenhouse. I however live on the Canadian east coast. Lots of snow and wild wind storms.. The wooden base and rebar is a must !!! I did frame out a door on mine and added a ridge pole for the snow we get.. I also bought a roll of 6mm plastic film and placed it over the original plastic. I do have vents on each end wall.

      Thanks Carol yeah it was a lot of work, but I don't think it would last long just putting the tubing up without any support.

      Yes that would be good to do, it would stabilize it better. I never got around to doing mine, but it's held up great still standing.

    That was a lot of work but I totally understand making sure it was more secure and framing the doorway. I think I'd like a door, maybe on both ends for when it really gets hot. Nicely done. I look forward to seeing how it holds up. I love the windows.

      Yeah it rained hard last night with storms and it held d up fine no problems, yes indeed im putting a door on the back end for sure maybe the front too. Thanks for your comment.

    You did an excellent job! I bought a much smaller one due to the size of our yard (and also trying to avoid my husband complaining 🤪), but I definitely intend to brace it as well because I know it will blow away if I don't.

      You can do it you don't need much room for these, its really been holding up really well even with the bad storms we have had.

    so how did you attach that extra strapping? do you have a closeup picture?

      You just get hooks screw them into the other 2 x 4 base and tighten them up its really simple its been holding up well for 2 years now. thank you!

    Hi, great video, I seen someone else who instead of tying outside straps diagonal, they placed the straps going straight up and over in the middle of each window/section, saved him tying up any window as the strap held it.👍👊

    Why you no put hot spot tape on the pipes, they get hot and melt the plastic won't last as long

      It doesn't need any of that type of tape the plastic is really tuff. I only put foam tape over the screws so it wouldnt catch on the plastic.

      Glad it was helpful to you! It has held up really well still standing through all the bad storms we have had in TN. I plan to do a short follow up video on it sometime this coming spring.

    This video needs an update proving these modifications were successful. I’m wondering how drilling additional holes in the pipe worked out? I would’ve used strapping to avoid weakening the conduit but I could be wrong, maybe it worked great?

    how will you keep it warm inside?

      Some people use solar and I've seen other use propane and electric heat. Here's a link to my friends that use a warming box to put plants in when cold.     Thanks so much for making this. My wife and I just watched both videos. What kind of strapping did you you? The link isn't working now.
    We just had our Outsunny greenhouse arrive yesterday. This week I have to work on cutting support posts to go in the ground a few feet. We get some pretty high winds and the occasional downdrafts from tornados in East side of-Central Texas. I knew it was light but didn't realize how light.
    I am so glad we watched your video first to see how it went up. I definitely need a few more supplies to make this happen. I want to put it up with all the support the first time.

      I will have to fix these links netsuke why they aren't working.
      You can use any kinda of strapping look at Lowes or Home Depot.
      You can also use rope to go through the eye hooks.

      @@OurBackwoodsHomestead Thank you 😊 I have a ton of rope on hand. I always find something that needs thin and thicker jute rope out here. I got posts to put in the ground to secure our greenhouse to. My wife and I are going to work today to get this beast of a greenhouse up. 🤞

      @@OurBackwoodsHomestead We are videoing the process. It turns out I had to take down a couple of dead trees before we can finish putting it up. The frame itself was not too confusing thankfully. We had to move it out of the way before I attach it to the posts, so when I felled the dead trees they didn't destroy the frame.
      I have one more tree to fell before I can finish. Severe weather is coming in a day or two, so I probably won't get to finish the greenhouse setup until closer to April with our schedule hampering when I can get stuff done.
      Your videos were really helpful in our assembly of the frame though.

      We have flaps to cover the windows on ours, we leave them open in the summer for air flow & closed in the winter.

      Over 2 years now and it's still standing! Through many storms, snow...
      I'm amazed how well the bracing has held up.
      I need to do a follow up video.

    Is it still holding up? I'm thinking of building a greenhouse out of cattle panels. It would be cheaper to buy one of these but I have a bad feeling about them being a waste of money!

      Ours just went through a bad storm here in Nashville and its still standing no damage at all. We will at sometime do a follow up videos on the Greenhouse. Its been through many storms since we put it up and has helded up due to the reinforcing we did in the video. Thanks for your comment!

      @OurBackwoodsHomestead I had too I live in Oklahoma and we get 80 mile an hour straight line winds that come with no warning my greenhouse has survived a few of them already its only because of the J hooks

    Do you have to use the rebar to hold in place? I just put mine up and secured to 2x6, but the ground is full big rocks, more like boulders. Was hard enough putting in stakes for fence, had to keep pulling up and trying different location.

      Yes I did use rebar as well to reinforce the bottom wood frame.
      Its really strong we've had 45 mph winds and its still holding up.
      I show putting down rebar in the video.

      Yes still holding up no problems at all. I will do a follow up video soon just been too busy with my business right now. Still the same plastic as well.

    Can these greenhouses withstand snow? Would it need more steadying?

      Yes they can, we had 5 inches this past winter. You will need to do the reinforcing as in my videos, I didnt brace the frame at the top but we've had no problems with it holding up. Its been through storms, wind & snow I'm really amazed that it has held up.

      The quality is not bad for the money the tubing is only 1/2 inch tubing so you will need to reinforce like we did.
      We have only had it up for about 3 days will let you know how it holds up in the wind.

      My husband and I just purchased our outsunny 20x10x7 greenhouse, and we watched both of your videos. Loved them. However, we didn't see the link you mentioned about the people who showed you how to frame it or use the braces. I couldn't see the types of staps you used for the top. Could you please let me know. We live here in Missouri, and we get pretty good storms here . I don't want my greenhouse to blow away 😂. Thank you for any help and for sharing.
