Peyton Waskey I had the VHS but I think my dad managed to steal it. LoL I need to go buy that DVD version I used to play it over and over. Especially that last minute. Still gives me chills....and I missed Dave Niehaus's voice.
@@rinoz47We drafted David Ortiz, but traded him for Dave Hollins at the 1996 trade deadline. Hollins played well here, but he was here for only two months. Also, we turned down a trade of Felix Fermin for Mariano Rivera. That would’ve helped with the bullpen.
I miss the teal, the kingdome, the games on CBS,abc and NBC,I loved the huge multipurpose stadiums, you could sit in the upper deck for $1 ahh those were the good days.
Really? I did not know that. See, i'm all the way on the east coast. And how I became a Seahawks fan was simple. My father always liked to root for teams that noone really followed and teams that weren't doing well. So when I was born in 78, 2 years after the expansion Seahawks made it into the league in the NFC, my father saw it and ran with it. And i've been a fan ever since. Now the M's on the other hand, I just went with them because they were a Seattle based team. Anyway, sorry to digress, i'm glad they went back with their old colors. Now if only the Seahawks would too... I miss the Grey and Blue and Green...
I just watched the Padres energize our city and it brought back memories of this magical season from my childhood. Ditto on the goosebumps comment. I only own two VHS tapes still (despite no longer owning a player) & this is one of them. Thank you for posting it!
During '95 mom would put out her broom and you couldn't call or visit during the games unless you came to watch. She was a true diehard fan. They had season tickets with my aunt and they went to almost all the games.
Props for putting this up man. Video of my childhood right here. Always makes me super emotional. 51:50 is incredibly bittersweet. What could've been...
I really miss listening to Dave Niehaus calling games. I didn't realize how good he really was til he was gone. The guy they have now, Dave Sims, is so bad that I would rather just press SAP and listen to the game in Spanish.
now i understand the Macklemore and Ryan Lewis song a little more. :) and i love this. Griffey is one of my favourite ball players. however Barry Larkin is my favourite. i liked Griffey when he came over to the Reds and he was brilliant then, but definitely when he was with the Mariners he was quite amazing.
They had a solid season and made the playoffs in 2022. In retrospect it couldn’t have been more fitting than clinching against Oakland. The Moneyball A’s prevented us from making a postseason in 02 and 03, and they kept us out of the wild card in 2014 and 2018. As for this year, we have a good pitching staff, but a mediocre to bad lineup. On top of a down AL West so far in early 2024 though. Also on a side note: If you told everyone before 1995 that there would be a point where the Mariners would still be in Seattle but the Athletics would not be in Oakland anymore; they’d call you nuts.
This core should have won a world series before 2001 if not multiple but thanks to the cheapness of ownership, star players left and then the Mariners are where they are now
It's too bad we never really had any one behind The Unit in the rotation. Even if we had gotten past Cle, Atlanta would've destroyed us with their 3 headed monster of Maddux, Glavine and Smoltz.
Ho many World Series did those 3 Destroy? Talk about a underachieving team. Atlanta should have won more than 1. And without Smoltz they'd have won none. The other two may have won more games but he was the best of the 3 by far.
I have this on both DVD and VHS. I watched it many times as a kid.
I didn't even know it was released on DVD. I still have my VHS copy from when I was a kid. Such great memories.
It is sold in the team store.

19 years later I still get goosebumps
Hearing Dave's voice makes me cry... this was my childhood.
Amen to that, great memories! Go M's!
Imagine if Ichiro came to Seattle in the 90's...
Ichiro, A-Rod, Griffey Jr., Martinez, and arguably the best pitcher with Johnson.
My Oh My...
We were also a freckle past a hair to signing a young david ortiz
That Line up would have been insane ✅

As a kid who grew up in Seattle in the 90s this is just pure nostalgia. Brings a tear to my eyes
Thank you so much for posting this!!!! Bought this VHS tape at Eagle Home and Garden when I was 6 years old.
I had this movie on VHS. Good to see it on RUclips!
I miss the teal, the kingdome, the games on CBS,abc and NBC,I loved the huge multipurpose stadiums, you could sit in the upper deck for $1 ahh those were the good days.
You aint kidding
JGun101 Did they?

The last comment I read talked about goosebumps......I can't believe it's been 25 years. I actually teared up watching this.
I watched many of these games while on ship. I miss these days of baseball.
I just watched the Padres energize our city and it brought back memories of this magical season from my childhood. Ditto on the goosebumps comment. I only own two VHS tapes still (despite no longer owning a player) & this is one of them. Thank you for posting it!
I'm a Yankees fan but I stumbled onto this video and really enjoyed it!
I use to fall asleep to this VHS every night when I was a kid. I still dream about a Mariners season as exciting at the 1995 season.
God bless you for posting this! I have been looking to see this again for ages!
Had this video for years and lost it during a move. I would watch this everyday after school.
During '95 mom would put out her broom and you couldn't call or visit during the games unless you came to watch. She was a true diehard fan. They had season tickets with my aunt and they went to almost all the games.
OMG I have look for this video for years!!!! Your Awesome thanks for posting.
Props for putting this up man. Video of my childhood right here. Always makes me super emotional. 51:50 is incredibly bittersweet. What could've been...
Such an amazing video, it brings back so many wonderful memories!! Thanks for posting it!
The greatest person and baseball announcer of all time. Dave Neihaus RIP
thank you for uploading this! my mom bought this video on VHS for my 9th birthday and I have not seen it in years. THANK YOU.
I really miss listening to Dave Niehaus calling games. I didn't realize how good he really was til he was gone. The guy they have now, Dave Sims, is so bad that I would rather just press SAP and listen to the game in Spanish.
Dang they had a scary heat of the order. Jr, Buhner, Edgar, and Tino Martinez. Cant get much better than that.
Unfortunately, Griffey missed about half the season with a broken wrist.
Mi equipo favorito, merecian ser campeones de la.serie mundial, ojala y algun otra ocacion hayan ganado y arriba LOS MARINEROS DE SEATLE
Been lookin for this video for years since I lost my VHS copy!
Although the 2014 squad doesn't have the same depth and talent that the 1995 squad had, I feel the same tenacity and fight.
I completely agree. Something feels special about this squad. And everyone is so young. Anything could happen!
Ray Marquez They missed the playoffs by one game. Even though the M's are off to a slow start, I still have a good feeling about this crew.
Amazing.. My Oh My! Go Mariners!
Get out the rye bread and mustard grandma, it is GRAND SALAMI TIME!!!
i love you for uploading this
As an Indians fan, I always hated playing the Mariners, they were good team in '95. Put up a hell of a fight.
Ken Griffey, Jr. was, is, and will always be the greatest Mariner of all-time!
In 95 they had arguably the best pitcher in history, the best hitter, and the best overall player.
Thanks for posting, OP Dude!

LOL at that mullet on Randy Johnson!
seeing joey cora crying at the end makes me have to fight back tears everytime I watch this
The Glory years
AWESOME!
That Alex Diaz catch at 15:05 is just awwwwwesome!
57:29 the best my oh my ever
Holy crap that's the craziest defensive play I've every seen 15:18.
Robert McAdoo The catch at 15:02 was an unbelievable. Better than the famous Willy Mays catch. He dove on the warning track.
My cousin Candice was IN LOVE with Joey Cora
MY OH MY
Anyone watching because it's been a generation since they last made the playoffs, and it a the only positive thing about the mariners?
They had a solid season and made the playoffs in 2022.

home run at 48:54 is so damn epic
matt gade I know. Paul O'neil didn't even move he just watched it.
There wouldn't have been a team without Lou!
Man when the Mariners use to be good and LOADED with talent.
This core should have won a world series before 2001 if not multiple but thanks to the cheapness of ownership, star players left and then the Mariners are where they are now
i miss lou!!!!!!!!!!
Baseball players have hearts. If you don't believe me, go to 54:52, and watch Joey Cora crying while A-Rod consoles him.
I still have this on vhs..wasn't this sold at eagle hardware stores? ??
Wish I would have made one of those games the problem when your 13
We need the freaking 12th man to save the Mariners from another decade of disappointment.
Fuck the Mariners give me my basketball team Back FUCKERS!!!!SSSSSUUUUUPPPPPPEEEERRRR SSSSSOOOOONNNNNIIIIIIIICCCSS
That makes no sense.
In baseball it would be a 10th man. Nine guys in a lineup.
When will the Mariners have their year?
Soon Enough

Mariners, bring back A-Rod!
I don't think people were coming to the Kingdome to see a Mariners game...they just wanted to see Lou yell at umpires for three to five hours!
EDGARRRRRR
Do you have JR's 1997 MVP year????
I consider the Indians win an upset because Cleveland teams usually choke in the playoffs
35:00
just give me a team of Rich Amaral's and I win the west every year
Goodbye Baseball
Ken Griffey, Jr. was, is, and will always be the greatest Mariner of all-time!
MY OH MY
