Rita was just a little better. I’m glad she was able to have this since Katy Perry was already very established by 2014. This song helped Rita Ora expand internationally.
@@gummy5862 Agreed! That was like peak Katy Perry- Roar/Dark Horse era + Prism tour + Super Bowl. It’s great that Rita got to be on such a huge banger when she needed it more
@@gummy5862Rita also had the time to have the song worked over until she had the perfect sound and vocals on the song. Katy literally just didn’t even have the time. What you hear did a demo she made that was barely even put together properly
This in my opinion is the answer. There were 2 Dark Horse clones that did not make it to Katy Perry's album; I assume her label discarded it because they didn't think Dark Horse had potentional(There are like 2 Roar clones on Prism); the label only released it as a promo single but not even Katy wanted it as a second single however it was made the 3rd single. Black Widow and Get on Your Knees by Nicki Minaj ft Ariana is the other Dark Horse clone. You can hear Katy's vocals on Get on YOur knees.
Here they sound similar but with Katy strong voice and big high notes she would take it to the next level especially in live performances way farther than Rita tho I love them both and Rita was great but still imo Katy would Rock it more if she just hadn't dark horse at that same period.
I had no idea this was originally a Katy Perry song but as soon as you said it I was like "THAT TOTALLY TRACKS." It's always hard to do these side by side comparisons because the final tracks have the benefit of the full studio production vs the demos which often have little to no production. But honestly? I think this song would have been an absolute banger regardless.
Both sounds amazing but theres just something about Katys voice that sounds emotional, raw...or maybe its just the scratchiness of her voice lol but would love to hear the full version!
I originally thought that the girl singing was Katy Perry when I heard it on the radio until I saw the music video and ONLY THEN read the title and saw Rita Ora. That's when I discovered who she was
It’s so true about them saying they’re okay with one thing but actually expecting something else to happen. I went out with a guy and was clear it was just as friends. But he brought me somewhere with strong drinks and knew the bar tender. When I was drunk he said he already had his couch set up for me, so I knew what he was planning. Immediately I texted someone else near by and he picked me up instead. The first guy was so pissed I didn’t go home with him but I was creeped out thinking he could and was probably planning on taking advantage of me.
It’s funny because the chorus follows the traditional KP energy and still sounds more like her than RO. I wonder if they kept that from the original recording and just used RO for the other vocals? It’s all still just heavily studio-brushed up.
Katy Perry for sure because she has more power in her voice and I like that little yodel that she does at the end which is such a signature sound for her voice.
They sound the same tbh. Both versions are equally good

It has a similar sound to Dark Horse, that's maybe why she didn't keep it
She said yes but Rita fits better as you can hear I didn't say Katys version was bad bat Rita sounds better and with spice.

My thoughts exactly
@@gersdiam....cuz Katy’s version was just a demo and Rita’s version was the final version?
@@dojakitty1189 okay babe
Now imagine if it was Rita Ora, Katy Perry, and Iggy Azalea on the same song
Yes.
10th Anniversary collab
Gives off the same vibes as Bang Bang with Jessie J, Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj
YES
@@Lemonade7712bang bang was THE song when it came out
It being written by Katy makes so much sense. It literally has her sound especially when you hear her sibg
I completely agree
It's giving dark horse's sister
that's why katy didn't release it actually
That sting of Katy's voice would have been a big bang
This song was AND STILL IS a ABSOLUTE BANGERRR
I like Ritas version better. She has a great voice.
Ha.
Yes❤
implying katy doesnt is crazy

I think Katy would have overpowered Iggy. Rita and Iggy mix better.
I like rita more, Idk has more vibe to this song, sexier deeper voice
Watch the Live performances you will understand why Katy is more appropriate as voice , I love Rita but she was a disappointment in most of lives
This is SUCH a katy song 😢should’ve gone to her tbh
Same opinion especially in live performances she would've been 🔥
Katy should’ve been a feature on the version that was released
Now that you said it I realized this is such a Katy's song! I love Rita's version too
Black wittle bwaybway 😂😂😂
Rita has more spice for this
I just like Rita better on principle 😂
What do you mean?
@@RG_EphMeans he likes the lesser artist and the least relevant, thats all. I like her Radioactive song though...
@@RG_EphI’ve heard Katy do some weird stuff, weirder than what I’ve heard Rita do
I like Rita’s better because her voice is richer and it’s gorgeous with the song but it does sound like a Katy Perry song.
honestly katy perry is so underrated in terms of pop songwriting and vocals like she actually writes a lot of her own stuff

Katy was better
Make yourself believe.
I always think of this as a Katy Perry song 🤣
They literally sound the same...i imagine Iggy asked Rita because she sounded quite similar to Katy...possibly
Both sounds amazing but theres just something about Katys voice that sounds emotional, raw...or maybe its just the scratchiness of her voice lol but would love to hear the full version!
behind you? That's an Ava Max album, right? heaven and hell 😭✨ huwaaaa i hope you have the diamond and dancefloors album too 😭💎
You can still hear Katy’s vocals layered in the Rita version.
Cannot believe that this song is 10 years old🥲
Rita is the best choice ❤ I love the power from her voice. I love katy tho.
Rita for me but they both were amazing! 😅
I always hear wittle baby like little baby lol cant unhear it
i literaly always thought she was singing like a black little babyyy !!! 😭💀💀💀
I love Rita’s sound! I wish her music wasn’t so hit and miss!
Sounds like they kept Katy’s “I’m gonna love ya” part
While they sound somewhat similar, Rita's just slaps better.
Rita has a stronger voice to carry out through the song and she did AMAZING. Loved it
Rita has the confidence in her vocal performance glad Katy given her song to them.
For anyone who doesn’t know, Rita Ora is the UK’s Jennifer Lopez
Still a banger! My local radio station wouldn't play this song as much as the other popular songs, so I was disappointed.
Yall remember when ASAP Rocky diss rita ora? Those lyrics are the first thing to came to mind when I hear her name
I originally thought that the girl singing was Katy Perry when I heard it on the radio until I saw the music video and ONLY THEN read the title and saw Rita Ora. That's when I discovered who she was
Katie is so talented!
Heard on the radio and I was like… why is she calling herself a widdle black baby?
😂😂 Thats all I hear when this song comes.
Both are so good I can’t say which one I like more.❤❤

Honestly they’re equally as good as each other, they sound really similar ❤
They're both really good. 😮
Katy Perry will always write a hit song of inspiration
2014 Iggy was popping everywhere😂👏👏
They sound the same both artists are incredible tho
She reused the verse in Same Old Love by Charli XCX btw
It's because it was her same old love
Taylor would've been done if katy had released black widow as the response for bad blood im 2015.
I’m sorry Katy is just superior, I wish she’d release it herself 🥺
Black "Little" Baby! 😂
Woah... this was katys song..the energy
The way i had this song on repeat 😂i was going through shiiiite 😮😮😮😮
Rita ate this one, good fortune
When I was younger and this song came out I thought they were saying “like a black little baby” 😭
Sounds like they kept Katy's backing vocals!
This would have been a great response to Bad Blood had Katy kept it.
Wow this honestly just makes sense. It totally sounds like a Katy Perry song.
LOVE the vinyls in the back!
I loved this song so much, real bop
And the Kill Bill vibe of the video
I can imagine the song could’ve been more popular if Iggy and Katy were able to make that song together.
Love your new haircut…. Looking 👌🔥
Katys has more soul in it. Probably because she had involvement in the creative process
Perry has a writing credit on the song but it was written by Sarah Hudson who wrote most of the Dark Horse album.
Sounds like ET by Katy as well
Lmao they’re basically indistinguishable
brat vinyl in the back >>>>>>>
🔥🔥
Makes sense because of the style and adlibs like Katy perryr vocals.
I like Katy’s voice on it more
Of course tho it's original version rita its still Katty is original for this song
Definitely the notes on Katy Perry is smoother
Both are great
In retrospect this makes so much sense! It sounds so much like Katys style.
Love the queens, LOVE them all
Rita sounds better to me
They actually do sound similar. Its a tie
I like how more punchy Katy’s voice was
Rita adds more spice and dramatics
I think that's called melodyne
Katy sounds more crisp. I like hers more.
Katy for sure. No question.
The Rita Ora version hands down ❤
Katie definitely nailed that song, sorry Rita
Let’s see Katy perform that live 😂
No wonder it gave katy vibes dark horse and wide awake vibe
Katy and Iggy?? Would have been iconic
The instrumental sounds better in Katy’s tbh
Rita Ora is criminally underrated

Their voices almost sound the same!!
Wow, both versions sound pretty stellar. Thats rare where one version isn’t remarkably better than the other.
Love Rita's version better. Her vocal style has more 'oomph' for this song, imo
Carti's baby mama makes music 😂😂
Rita was def who was the better fit and i love katy and her borh but rita did an amazin job
I definitely would’ve preferred the song if it was Katy
Ugh I remember blasting this in my early 20’s in the shower after I got cheated on 😂
Katy
i thought it was actually Katy Perry who sang it 😅 they're both good too!
They used the original backing vocals for the rita ora version, that or they both sound very similar
