Saw this as a child, the original. Couldn't catch half the dialogue...no captions back then...but was the funniest thing. Here it is on an episode of Flip I somehow missed.
I think his appearance on the Flip Wilson show may be my favorite version of this sketch that Marty does. Also this whole episode is hilarious. The banter at the top between Cosell, Marty, and Flip is epic.
Whenever I've seen a wicker basket since I first saw this aired back in the 70s, it always reminds me of this skit. Love it.
Exactly the same for me. This version was better though.
I laughed so hard. Especially when Howard showed up! Thanks for sharing this with the world. 🧡
I swear every time I see a picture of an owl I get Screeching Giggles remembering this. I'm so glad I looked it up.

I have been looking for this skit for so long.
Had he been born in the era of silent films, Marty would have been one of the legends of that era.
...Well, He WAS in Mel Brooks' SILENT MOVIE !
...Is that Sandy Duncan? Yes, It is! Season 3. Episode 17. 1973. She was in 5 episodes.
