That issue saying not responding Chris, mine did that the same on my Win10 x64, what cured mine was I now use a USB 3.1 socket on the PC. Works faultlessly now. I also think if you have several COM ports that have been used (in the device manager list I mean) it can throw up errors at times. Hope that makes sense. I also turned off 'suspend USB power' in Win settings.
Thank you for taking your time to put information like this on your channel for all to see Chris. I have been a ham since 1957 but brand new to DMR. Your information has help me tremendously. K9LDO
Will this same software work on the Anytone 778, because myself and some other buyers of the 778 have had no luck with computer programming, and I chalk it up to either firmware, or maybe a password that was put on the firmware.
Hello again. Is there any downloadable software for the Anytone 778. I've been to they're site like most buyers/users, and I either missed something, or had no luck. Thanks
On your display it shows all info for the I'd of calling station, and it looks like you have one band turned off? How do you turn off the second band, to get the full information from an ID I have both bands turn on and it only gives me partial information I have the anytone 878 plus
@@digitalanaloguehamradio it did previous , radio has been reset by a Arse , n lost all previous settings the pmrs and the Scan freqs it had it ,wasnt a code plug installed by request , what was the name of that programme ?

Cheers mate. Will do that tomorrow night. Helpful as ever. 73’s for now M7AHE
Excellent - Thank you.
Thanks Chris! Works very well :-)
Thanks Chris.
How does this work if you just want to update an existing contacts database?
Hi Darren. You would run the software and generate the file. And you would upload it to the radio. It will override whatever you have on there.
Digital Analogue Ham oK thanks for the reply. That’s good to know that you won’t end up with duplicate entries. 👍🏻
I am a bit confused. What is the advantage of using this app verses just going to radioid.net and downloading the .csv dump file?
Dave Wickert AE7TD Hi David it’s free. Some sites charge. Some go down. It’s just an alternative.
The database has all the full data. Also from Europe. I updated the database Two to three times a week. 73 Wilfred PD1WP BM Database Team
I was thinking the same thing - radio.net is free and has all the full data - still trying to figure out the difference
a lot more data for each operator, especially in foreign countries

Carl Pickel No sorry this is 878 only
@@digitalanaloguehamradio Ok, well, at least I got it programmed using the mic.

Thank You again Chris. I’m always getting some good hints from you I appreciate your time Thank You Jim in Georgia K4YNA. 🍑.
Okay great. Some companies charge for this database. So this is a good find
This seems kinda sketchy, distributing zip / rar archives from github. I'd normally expect to find, you know, source code in git repos, not zip files.
I have the same problems with the com port nearly everytime. only with my anytone radios.

Robert Taylor Hi it is in settings radio set and it’s called sub channel hide
@@digitalanaloguehamradio found it thanks so very much for your help, appreciate it much
Will this work on the Alinco DJ-MD5 which seem to use a similar codeplug. It also shows "not responding" when saving the file.
They are 99% the same radio with slightly different firmware it should work just fine
@@digitalanaloguehamradio Not on any Retevis, I suspect?
Cool, thanks
Can that be used to input the PMR Channels and Alpha Tag them ?
Anytone 868 878 will not transmit on pmr by default
