A lion who would change our lives forever. #Mufasa: The Lion King, in theaters December 20.
“Mufasa: The Lion King” enlists Rafiki to relay the legend of Mufasa to young lion cub Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala, with Timon and Pumbaa lending their signature schtick. Told in flashbacks, the story introduces Mufasa as an orphaned cub, lost and alone until he meets a sympathetic lion named Taka-the heir to a royal bloodline. The chance meeting sets in motion an expansive journey of an extraordinary group of misfits searching for their destiny-their bonds will be tested as they work together to evade a threatening and deadly foe.
New and returning cast members were called on to lend their voices to the film:

- Kelvin Harrison Jr. as Taka, a lion prince with a bright future who accepts Mufasa into his family as a brother

- Anika Noni Rose as Mufasa’s mother, Afia
- Keith David as Mufasa’s father, Masego
- John Kani as Rafiki
- Seth Rogen as Pumbaa
- Billy Eichner as Timon
- Donald Glover as Simba
- Introducing Blue Ivy Carter as Kiara, daughter of King Simba and Queen Nala
- And Beyoncé Knowles-Carter as Nala
Additional casting includes Braelyn Rankins, Theo Somolu, Folake Olowofoyeku, Joanna Jones, Thuso Mbedu, Sheila Atim, Abdul Salis and Dominique Jennings.
“Mufasa: The Lion King,” the new film coming to theaters Dec. 20 explores the unlikely rise of the beloved king of the Pride Lands. The film has an all-star roster of talent bringing new and fan-favorite characters to life-plus, celebrated award-winning songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda is writing the film’s songs produced by Mark Mancina and Miranda, with additional music and performances by Lebo M.

I’m excited for it too but just going to feel weird not have James Earl Jones doing Mufasa’s voice and that light colored lion was probably his brother Scar So I’m intrigued So we shall see in December I’m hoping for Disney’s sake that’s it’s a success Cause they need a win ✨🏰✨😊

I think they put a lot of effort into making this movie look epic, touching emotions, spiritual... I think that the spirit of the 90s, where there was more amazement at these stories of family and tribe, no longer exists.

Though part of me is nervous about how this prequel will turn out, most of me is also excited about it as well. Honestly, after seeing this teaser, I think Mufasa: The Lion King looks great thus far. So yeah, we shall see!

Lion King was my favorite as well and my wife is the little mermaid. Fun fact my wife is about to have the Guinness book of world records record for most Little Mermaid things 😂 Her stuff is submitted and just waiting for the plaque. This is one of the movies that was not what I expected it to be. Some of the movies include,(which I would also like you to react to) are: Real City Heroes: Sergeant Cooper, My Little Pony 2017 Movie, A Lullaby For a Princess/The Moon Rises. I really want you to react to Sergeant Cooper, my sister loves these series. This is a kid series, but I don't mean like little, I mean like 10 or 12 years old.

Contrary to what y'all are Constantly trying to say, Disney does not shove those types of characters into every movie. There are no 🏳️🌈 characters in Soul, the Little Mermaid remake, Quantumania, the Bad Batch, The Mandalorian, the Book of Boba Fett, Guardians of the Galaxy, Andor, Echo, Moon Knight, Werewolf by Night, Shang-Chi, Encanto, Secret Invasion, etc.

Awesome video, I personally don't want this movie and this trailer is AWFUL shocked by the number of people looking forward to this. The 2019 remake was a disgrace to the original animated Lion King which is practically my favourite movie of all time and never needed to be remade. Disney is now making a CGIED live action Lion King cinematic universe for cash and I hate that. Especially as this year is the originals 30th anniversary it deserves better!
I get that, but I still want to give this a shot.
Aren’t… all movies made for cash? To be more specific, cash is always part of the goal. And it’s also what’s most important, especially since people in the Lion King fandom have been wondering about Mufasa and Scar’s backstories for a while, so making a movie about it would technically be appeasing that want. As well as it’s an original take on their backstory. Also I know people wanted this movie to be 2D animated, but that age for movies is over besides anime movies. Most movie studios don’t even have 2D animation anymore because it simply doesn’t make as much money as 3D movies do. I know that making something the fans enjoy is important, but money is the most important because that’s what allows them to make more movies in the first place.
It's not shocking that people are looking forward to seeing this. Some people like watching the same story told differently. I personally loved the 2019 version because of how it looked. To me the live-action movies that came out it only to show how it would look like if it was in a real-life setting instead of cartoon-like. That's why some people like live-action movies because of the different look. The original is always going to be there and it's understandable that you don't like change because the original is what you grew up with. At the end of the day, it's only a movie that you have a choice to watch it or not. Some will like it and some will not. We all have different likes and dislikes about live-action movies.
