    Imagine how successful the Sith would've been if Vitiate put the Empire first instead of himself. I know the nature of the dark side is to seek one's own advancement, but it gets to a point where its counterproductive to their success as a collective. If every Sith is only thinking of themself, how can an empire of Sith ever function? Vitiate could have been the leader who changed the Sith, but he never saw them as his people, only his slaves, fuel for his power. Rip to Darth Marr who did what Vitiate couldn't.

      It is because the fact is that sith ideology is simply incompatible with a stable society and empire for that matter .A sith empire is simply not capable of having a stable and prosperous society .And whilst capitalism has its faults ,at the very least it is nothing compared to the depravity and degeneracy of the sith ideology .It simply is ridiculous to compare the

    Playing the Sith Warrior, I always saw Malgus and The Wrath as tragic. The latest story update, Old Wounds, cements this. Two warriors, both of whom recognise the Sith Empire is it's own worst enemy. Two warriors that genuinely respect each other and have a lot of the same values.
    But while the Wrath is willing to work inside the boundaries to bring about reform like Darth Marr and Darth Acina, Malgus is a true revolutionary. He needs a clean slate, right now.
    And in the end, both Warriors are doomed to forever hold true to similar values, whilst constantly fighting each other.

    I hate how people say SWTOR ruined Revan. I'd probably go on a galaxy wide purge if I was tortured for 300 years in stasis and not being able to see my wife and unborn son ever again.

I'm basically rewriting SWTOR for my friends and setting it 300 years earlier. I read Tales of the Jedi, the KOTOR comics, Dark Empire (It has a lot of Old Republic lore and is the foundation of that era), and played KOTOR 1 and 2 for inspiration on what could be done in this unexplored time frame.

      @astercat49 Год назад +15

      @michaelandreipalon359 It’s called having a canon storyline. Revan and Meetra Surik are their own characters outside of KOTOR, so of course they don’t play around using their actual names, because they were too impactful to remain the anonymous player character. Plus the only reason player characters are given titles in the first place is so that dialogue can make sense because the voice actors can’t record every possible name the player could choose.

I’m pretty sure that occurred not long after the Great Hyperspace War. The Sith Empire founded by Darth Vitiate deserved better. It was the best of the Sith Empires. Sure, the Galactic Empire finally won the Republic and the Jedi. But when it comes to the functions of the society, the Empire that Darth Vitiate founded is way more progressive, especially after Darth Marr became the de facto leader of the Empire and after Darth Acina issued what basically is her own version of the Tanzimat Reforms on the Spheres of Influences and the Imperial society. With the other species are welcomed into the ranks, the humanocentric culture has been greatly curbed and slaves most likely have certain rights and the ability to climb up the social ranks, the Sith Empire of this era has become the Republic's equal. If there is a great galactic polity that deserved a fair share of the galaxy, it will be the Sith Empire founded by Darth Vitiate and reorganized by Darth Marr and Darth Acina.

      I don't know much about this True Sith Empire, but it seems to be a civilization that was initially founded on an evil religion and morally corruptive magic, but which was made up of real people, and was large enough and stuck around for long enough that the efforts of those people to improve themselves and their society actually led to positive change. People began realizing the practical values of virtues and eventually pushing for their large-scale adoption, while other people took the religious idea of believing in something greater than themselves and shifted it until the thing they believed in was actually worth believing in, and still others decided that true patriotism meant trying to correct their nations flaws, not blind loyalty. All of this makes the system less hostile to those people with some understanding of morality, leading to them growing in numbers and in power, further transforming the society they live in.
      Maybe I should play this game at some point, because that seems like a pretty interesting setting.

      If you're a republic character and freed Revan, in the Shadow of Revan Expansion your character can respond :' he/She freed Revan from the Maelstrom Prison and heared he died not long afterward.' so the Empire beaten Revan anyway in the foundry, he swore he would crush the Sith Empire, but he din't live long enough to even try... • @shaydowsith348
      @shaydowsith348 Год назад

      (Although Revan doesn't stay dead. He comes back in Story of Revan, and yet again in the finale against the Emperor. Just as Malgus originally dies in "False Emperor" Flashpoint after Ilum, and comes back on Ossus and is imprisoned on whichever Fleet your character is from and still is there as of 7.3 updates). And Vitiate/Tenebrae/Valkorian also have a nasty habit of returning from the dead. And... in the movies.... Somehow Palpatine returns. At least in EU, Palpatine's return is explained in a way that doesn't make Vader's sacrifice meaningless.
      So... in Star Wars, people have a way of popping back from death. Not to mention Force Ghosts (Jedi) and Force Apparitions (Sith tho are usually confined to areas near their tombs).

    Wait wait wait why’d you change the ending here? 😂
    Revan was successful in resurrecting the emperor though. But he did still decide to rest afterwards and leave the rest of the galaxy to clean up after his mess

    To be blunt, utopias even by folks who are true and pure of heart are just impossible if not foregonely inane. Heck, though they may actually succeed in the initial short run, will they ultimately succeed to last for, say, ten thousand years if not forever, such a concept?
    Then again, this is just a blood knight, occasional jingoist, and well-intentioned benevolent templar speaking, so don't mostly take my word for it.

      And they usually come with a hell of a lot of morally questionable, often outright heinous, deeds that make the falling apart of these systems even worse.

    I am not a good person so i would not be a jedi and I truly believe in that state ment that the Sith are their own worst enemy always! If I was to be in a situation where I had the powers and the decision I would make it just 1 Sith alot of collaborators but with no real power and they would never know my true power...and then pass on all my knowledge by searching my entire life span to find the perfect pupil...Manipulate the situation and have him trained...Then when I was finnally ready to die I would give him a sith Holocron with all my knowledge to do with it as he pleased...Then noone to bicker....no different factions...each sith that rises to the title of dark emporer is alone in that and would kill all others even trying to be come sith as well with all jedi...But there would no in fighting...no backstabbing by ppl with equal power...Democracy is any more like a council is almost against the way the sith is supposed to think!

    Why would you resurrect the Emperor just to kill him again?
