    Three classic Hindu texts:
    Upanishads
    The Bhagavad Gita
    The rig Vedas
    Dhammapada as a Buddhist text was "Hinduism package for export"

      Srimad Bhagavatam is the sum total of all Veda.
      Also known as; the spotless Puranas.

    I like Tyr more than the other gods for some reason.
    He gave up his arm for the world in order to protect it from Fenrir.
    And he is the god of righteous rule.
    I like him a lot.

      Mimir's Elixir There's some evidence that Tyr was originally the most important god in the pantheon.

    • @MrChaosAdam
      @MrChaosAdam 6 лет назад

      For good reason. While Odin fills the place of Wisdom, Tyr still holds the esteemed position of noble sacrifice. It's also interesting because him giving up his arm ties up really nicely to my own people's mythology and certain artifacts of ancient kings.

      Can you desribe why and how Odin sacrificed himself?

    • @MrChaosAdam
      @MrChaosAdam 6 лет назад

      Thank you for posting this.
      The big difference that I see between the two deities is that Tyr sacrificed for US, while Odin sacrificed for wisdom.
      Now, Odin sacrificed way more, but he came back as more, while Tyr basically gave up an arm, and never got "refunded" for his trouble.

      I think its vanity to question the motivations of a god that saved us, and did so voluntarily. He deserves thanks and gratitude regardless. And as you said he did it to save his kinsmen and we are descended from the gods.

    Anyone watch the documentary Cesar's Messiah? its been while for me but the take away was the idea that the New Testament was more a work of Roman propaganda more than a holy text.

      Look into Kabbalistic theory that say that the New Testament was hebrew propaganda to overthrow the roman empire, which it largely did

    In my opinion, I find mixing deities together from different cultures is somewhat disrespectful to those cultures. But I don't hate on anyone who does this like the Neo-Pagans. But the key is to honor the ancestors. But this is a very interesting video.

      This is my only complaint with many neo-pagans, thinking that mashing up the "indo-european" religions is a good idea.

      This is an old comment, but many historical pagan religions had no problem with syncretism. Look into how the greeks, mesopotamians, egyptians, celts, etc. would share gods and traditions on contact

    Joseph Campbell mentions that in seeing the sufferings of Jesus, our compassion is awakened and we recognize the sufferings of others. And how we ourselves suffer, similar to schopenhauer's quote of being Companions in misery

    I like how Alan Watts views Christianity and it's similarities 2 Hinduism. Also Joseph Campbell has the series with Bill Moyers pointing it's better to view the biblical text as poetry and not prose.

    Imo, I don't think it's actually a bad idea to revive our native religions.

    If you want to play a pro-European pagan game , try MYFAROG. There are lots of religious dates, deities and many other pagan aspects as well. Totally worth it, especially for people who can play with their family and friends.
    The return of European paganism is already happening, it always comes back when we are healthy. Encouraging the masses to return to Christianity is a terrible choice, especially considering what you guys already admitted. Christianity is dead, we can't send our people to the graveyard, we have to send them to the burial mounds...
    "There is no death for the honorable, only a change of bodies."

    If Christianity comes back, it's in the form of a whip slashing at the heels of the merchants.

    How the Hindus saw Brahma pouring forth from himself and making all things that's the creature who knows this becomes in this life the Creator.
    The bodhisattva is the one is awake to this but continues to wear the mask and play the game. As others may get lost in the God complex.

    I get a lot out of Varg and Marie's ideas about paganism. I recommend watching the movie they made, on Marie's channel. It felt spiritually enriching to me.
