Awesome car. Got one with 1.4 BoosterJet engine and it's fabulous to drive. Entry level SUVs from other manufacturers cost 5k+ more and have much, much weaker engines. Who cares about harder plastic on the doors while having such a wonderful engine. Fun to drive and comfortable car.
Yes. 2008 is really good looking car but way too small for my needs (I needed a family car). If you are looking for a fancy 'city SUV' then 2008 is a good choice. Also you may consider Renault Captur in that range. It's a bit spacier inside and very nice from the outside (2008 has nicer interior though). I did not dig deeper because I wanted a bit larger car.
Hi Richard, what did you think of the S-Cross? Thanks for your input too Johnny, we agree with you on this, it's a decent entry level SUV. If you guys want a more in-depth look at the 2008, here's our review: ruclips.net/video/Gkk1vnJ7UqQ/видео.html
Peugeot 2008 is waaaay too small I am 1,84 and could not fit in the drivers seat. Has the same space as 208. On the other hand I was impressed by this car's space and comfort. Between the 2008 and this one defin. SCross! The peugeot 3008 is another chapter.....
Purchased mine new in 2008 iawd 140hp 2.0 litre auto 4spd , 26 mpg , pwr windows, pwr dr locks, remote key fob, popup garmin nav 12" in disc brakes , got it as my everyday grocery getter. , legendary reliability nothing ever breaks to date , nothing flimsy about the dash or anything else. Solid , makes me smile when civics and little acuras are stuck spinning their tires in the snow and I can blow thru a foot of fresh snow without spinning a tire. Not for a big family. But its just right for a girlfriend a dog and some grocerys. I got my Sony 60" LED set in the box home from best buy in it laying horizontal right to the back of my front seat and the back door closed perfectly. Its not supposed to be a hotrod , the idiots at top gear apparently did not understand that. I think they were just trying to get a free ride from Suzuki and Suzuki told em to take a walk. I'd buy it again ! Not even a lightbulb has needed replacing in 10 years.
Just like their motorcycles, totally reliable, bullet proof, economical, well built and underrated, Purley because they aren't publicised enough!!!!!!!!?!!!
This is not aimed at the reviewer. We now have a generation of people obsessed with image and the "whos looking at me in my fancy car" brigade, and I really do think its completely pathetic. If you like a car then buy it, regardless of what anyone else thinks. If it bothers you that much and you only choose a certain brand because you worry what others will think then you are a very sad person with confidence issues. Ive had Audis, GTIs, allsorts of cars in the 32 years since I passed my test and I drive a cheapo Suzuki Celerio at the moment. Its a shopping car mainly, its fun to drive, very economical and very very reliable. It will do long journeys if required, although not at high speed :D. Do I give a shit what the neighbours think, or people on Facebook, or workmates ? No. I dont talk to the neighbours, I dont have a Facebook account and I have a van for work :D. Get over yourselves and drive what YOU want. Stop trying to be something youre not, be an individual and not a sheep. What would I get if I needed something else ? Maybe a Kia Ceed GT, the new Subaru Impreza hatchback or this S Cross with Allgrip. Thank you. Now its time for bed, with the good lady, been on the Westons cider keeping out of the bad weather all day. Cheers.
We were sitting in an xcross mmming and aaahing, this good honest review secured the decision and sale. Thanks for the great vid. Short and strait to the point.
Hi! I am Ansh from India This thing exists in India too, I have one for around 5 years now! The pros of this cars are- 1) it gives a very very smooth ride even going at good speeds like 120-140 (kmph) 2) it has a light steering and takes turns like a beast like you can go 80-90 kmph on a like sharp cut!!! 3) it’s breaking are so good that from 100-0 it does that in 6 seconds 4) it’s 0-100 is 8.6 seconds (fully loaded) 5) it’s a light weight car 6) it got 180Kmph+ top speeds (perfect for high speed runs) 7) the horsepower on this is too good (140 hp) even when fully loaded it still touches 170 Kmph on highways 8) it is diesel powered so it doesn’t cost as much as petrol *the cons* 1) Has a little bit of turbo lag 2) reverse camera is a little laggy(may not be in other s-cross but mine has it) 3) gear shifting is not that good 4) the rims don’t look good on the car 5) they didn’t give volume knobs to control volume of music 6) accelerator pedal is hard to push fully… But overall it’s worth the price and if you were wondering it cost me around ~15,000 dollars (₹14.2 lakhs) for the second top variant (zeta) don’t know if you all have that in UK but we have a lot of options in India
Just got a 2016 (66)S-Cross SZ5 diesel auto TCSS (twin clutch). Like it very much. Seems a lot of equipment for what I paid. No complaints whatsoever. Comfortable and, seemingly, with a good mpg range.

I can not believe that Suzuki pulled out of the North American market. With the small CUV market lead all other segments, it was a major error on Suzuki's operations. They could have wiped Mitsubishi with out trying too hard. All they really needed to do was get a decent dealer network.
Ask them to bring in 6 airbags too, they have been cutting on safety. All others brands have started giving multiple airbags and other safety tech in India. Only suzuki has been ignoring this, 6 airbags and a auto gear box .....win win combo.
I have had many suzuki over the years 2001 ignis, and my current 04 liana 1.6 to name some. There very reliable up until about 120k miles then they fall bits and become a money pit which is why im unsure about another suzuki now. Shame i realy like this car.
Just bought one picking it up in two days, I own a vitara 1.6 szt all grip 2017, lovely motor ,but lacks the power of the s-cross ,I had the chance to drive this engine a couple of days ago it is like chalk and cheese you instantly feel the difference
Hi thank you for a straight forward competent car review.I'll be changing my Moka 1 4.turbo elite at the end of 2019.And as a pensioner, i think this Crossover maybe a nice comfortable car to think about. I know you can't show bias to-wards other cars. But as my wife and i need a higher exit & .entry car with front and back sensors, with heated seats. Owing to the fact that both of us have severe back pain problems. I would just like to ask you, if this would be a suitable car for our needs. If anyone on here has driven or owns one of these cars. I would appreciate it, if they could advise an 80 yr.old pensioner if this could be the car for me.? Ps. I receive my car via the Motability scheme, so i'll probably go for the top spec. Thanks in advance for your advice.👍
Hi Vignesh, there are some spec differences as Johnny said above. Aside from that, we think the Vitara is a touch more stylish, whereas the S-Cross is more of a rugged SUV. You can take a look at our Vitara review here and decide for yourself, let us know what you think: ruclips.net/video/jCQYHzFLGw4/видео.html
Car Keys UK thank you very much for the response. i too agree, Vitara is a tad stylish, has a better engine choice (1.4 turbo vs the 1.0 on S cross). What scares me about Suzuki is the thin sheet metal which seems to be the only major difference/weight saving initiative among their whole range compared to the rest of the competition even though they are NCAP 5 star. What are your thoughts on this aspect? easy to dent, potentially less safe?, more prone to catching Cross winds etc.?
You can always buy an old heavy model). Now completely different standards. Less metal, but it is alloyed steel. Wings of thin metal, but its competitors are generally made of plastic!
@@vigneshn.y3048 The S-Cross is available with the 1.4 turbo engine as well as four wheel drive. Furthermore, the S-Cross definitely looks more attractive than Vitara (whose design is quite awkward).
I don't know whether this one has the same system as the old one (pre-facelift) but the all-grip option came with auto, sport and snow-lock. Most people don't know but sport mode on the old one made it rear-wheel drive. However i don't know if this one does or not.
Dont underestimate the 3 cylinder 1.0 Boosterjet engine I was impressed enough after a test drive to order one (coming in March), to say I was surprised by its performance is an understatement considering its engine size.
Its a cross over not a full on SUV, majority people who buys cross over never take it off road or towing... if you want it for towing obviously you need the bigger engine.
Ofcourse, and that's my point, if you're going to use it as a hatchback, you might aswell get a real hatchback and get better prices and fuel economy. That's just my opinion ofcourse.
I do see where your coming from but these cars are basically hatchbacks but with loads of space inside, small families may want more space.. Most cross overs are fuel efficient and this one is cheaper most family hatchbacks.

Hi Firasat, we are taking the Ignis out on February 6th, so check back sometime in Feb for a full review from the guys. What did you think of the S-Cross?
Dazza Isaac Lancia were good cars back in the day, although maybe they rusted a lot, but your point is what exactly ? They were also sports cars. This is an SUV type car, totally different. I bet your car has some similarity to an older model in some way. Does it matter ?

Hard plastic is also a lot easier to clean than fancy upholstered material.

Best "bang for buck" small SUV hands down.. I drive diesel and it great car. One of those cars that grow into you with time..
With the petrol engine upgrade, and the nicer exterior I think the S-cross got a lot more interesting...

You should have tried an S-Cross instead...;)
Hi! I am Ansh from India
This thing exists in India too, I have one for around 5 years now!
The pros of this cars are-
1) it gives a very very smooth ride even going at good speeds like 120-140 (kmph)
2) it has a light steering and takes turns like a beast like you can go 80-90 kmph on a like sharp cut!!!
3) it’s breaking are so good that from 100-0 it does that in 6 seconds
4) it’s 0-100 is 8.6 seconds (fully loaded)
5) it’s a light weight car
6) it got 180Kmph+ top speeds (perfect for high speed runs)
7) the horsepower on this is too good (140 hp) even when fully loaded it still touches 170 Kmph on highways
8) it is diesel powered so it doesn’t cost as much as petrol
*the cons*
1) Has a little bit of turbo lag
2) reverse camera is a little laggy(may not be in other s-cross but mine has it)
3) gear shifting is not that good
4) the rims don’t look good on the car
5) they didn’t give volume knobs to control volume of music
6) accelerator pedal is hard to push fully…
But overall it’s worth the price and if you were wondering it cost me around ~15,000 dollars (₹14.2 lakhs) for the second top variant (zeta) don’t know if you all have that in UK but we have a lot of options in India

Great car. Very reliable brand. You get a lot of car for your money with Suzuki.

I love mine! 1000 3 cyl auto-- 43-46 mpg ... i had an A3 flying skateboard.. suzuki anyday!! nice high driving posision
I have the 14 plate diesel and I love It
Looking at this and comparing it with the Indian Variant makes me cry.
SB The Pikachu loved this red color, hope they introduce this in our country.
Ask them to bring in 6 airbags too, they have been cutting on safety. All others brands have started giving multiple airbags and other safety tech in India. Only suzuki has been ignoring this, 6 airbags and a auto gear box .....win win combo.
which one would you recommend between this and the vitara regarding drivability and comfort?
Nice review bro
I luv my 2013 SX4 ... insanely reliable so far.... alas, I live in USA... and Suzuki cars are no longer sold here .... I'd buy a new one.... damn.
Hi, thanks for the review. Is it a quiet ride?
I have had many suzuki over the years 2001 ignis, and my current 04 liana 1.6 to name some. There very reliable up until about 120k miles then they fall bits and become a money pit which is why im unsure about another suzuki now. Shame i realy like this car.
Is there any m,uch difference beetween 2014 and 2016 version? Body wise interior?
Good review. It seems there is no spare wheel with this car though. What are you supposed to do if you get a flat?
Just bought one picking it up in two days, I own a vitara 1.6 szt all grip 2017, lovely motor ,but lacks the power of the s-cross ,I had the chance to drive this engine a couple of days ago it is like chalk and cheese you instantly feel the difference

James Ure I see pensioners drive them here in Hungary all the time. Youngins tend to go for the Vitara where I live
The looks are definitely better than the previous version. When does this come to india??????
Can't wait to get my hands on this boosterjet engine .
1.0 booster does 111bhp not 109. 170nm torque performs like a 1.8 non-turbo.
Great car suzuki!
Does it comes with LSD (limited slip differential)?
"hi5 namaste" very cool video buddy:-*
1.7L would be more of a fit. 1.0 is too small. Good design and visibility. High price tag for a Suzuki!
great video shot in a pretty location. what's the difference between the SCross and Vitara. Both seem to be city crossovers to me?
S-cross is around 15 cm longer and that resulted in more leg space and bigger boot. It also has nicer interior with some soft plastic.
Hi Vignesh, there are some spec differences as Johnny said above. Aside from that, we think the Vitara is a touch more stylish, whereas the S-Cross is more of a rugged SUV. The 1000 cc one ..does that mean cheap tax ???
It's not really that cheap though when you select a decent engine..
Dont underestimate the 3 cylinder 1.0 Boosterjet engine I was impressed enough after a test drive to order one (coming in March), to say I was surprised by its performance is an understatement considering its engine size.
but it'll never be a good towing- or offroad car because it has no torque, which kind of defeats the purpose of having such an 'SUV' doesn't it
Its a cross over not a full on SUV, majority people who buys cross over never take it off road or towing... if you want it for towing obviously you need the bigger engine.

Nice
It's like someone microwaved & chromed the front of a Dodge Dart then stuck it on a Suzuki
In india it comes with only 2 Air bags

Suzuki Ignis review plz
Hi Firasat, we are taking the Ignis out on February 6th, so check back sometime in Feb for a full review from the guys. What did you think of the S-Cross?
Car Keys UK Well that's a good car & the host explained every point clearly. On the whole , a good review 👌
OK
does uk people buy suzuki cars ???
Some do!
Some does.
I do.
Mk11 Grand Vitara
price in India is 20.78 lacs
Ask suzuki if you can have 1 for free if you let them give you 20 lashes
Why are all car presenters so scruffily dressed to present
looks like the illegitimate child of a couple of 90's Ssangyongs...
Ant & Decs car lol
Mercedes GLC counterfeit
Same bad quality interior....some one tell thus suzuki..not to loot people money...give them all of their money...
Porsche 911 turbo S is better.
Not a fan
What puts you off *****?
Car Keys UK the front looks like it's a left over part from something like a Lancia

Hideous. They totally spoilt the admittedly bland original, with something that's offensive to the eyes from the front!
Already looking pretty dated. And that front-grill is FUGLY!
And I like the car mostly because of that grille. Something is wrong here :P
