I watch this in the Philippines back in the 80's. But my favorite character from The Munsters today is non other then Hilary van dyke on 0:24. I just have a dream about her during my childhood :-) I watch this on PTV 4 here in the Philippines every Wednesday
I vaguely understood that this was a remake due to the "We went to sleep 20 years ago" line. We never had the original one in my country. And the first thing we saw from the Addams Family franchise was the movie. The original was shown much later. Mid 90s or something.
The new series was shot on BETA cam and 20% of the colour was removed with a fog filter lens used to give the show a "gloomy" effect to match the old series which was also distributed by MCA at the time. They of course dropped this look for the second and third series where it looked brighter and a little more "90s" which some fans liked and some didn't. :)
Thought this was a great sequel. The original should've gone more than two seasons. This show gives it a full five seasons. It should be added to the original's syndication block. Besides, if you ever see John Schuck out of his Herman make-up, he looks like a bald Fred Gywnn.

Fred Gwynne is a much better Herman Munster. And Al Lewis is a much better Grandpa. I prefer the original. This version sucks 👎
