I've been Binge watching all your older vids,,,,been 4 weeks😢, this new job is huge for such a slacking ground crew to handle,,so much respect for you😊 and your American Worker spirit
We've got a binge watcher on deck! good to hear man :) I hope the vids don't rot your brain
That's a pretty house. But they lost all the privacy they had in their backyard. To each their own, I guess. Lots of hard work for days there. Thanks for sharing
Yeah I think the plan is to build some fences and plant some new, healthy trees
Three things: 1. Did the squirrel turn around and go back down?
2. That was a nice looking birch to have had to cut down.
3. Your 'before' forethought was impeccably seamless, down to the exact same perspective. I always forget to take any before pictures, let alone work them into a video shoot...lol.
The little squirrel ended up doing down ... then down some more ... and ultimately hunkered down at the base of the tree. The next morning s/he was gone so I'm hoping mamma stopped by to save the day
I like the new mechanical "ground crew"!
yeah gets the job done and doesn't take naps in the truck :)
That's fuckin awesome congrats on the new mini . That's what I want / need next . I'll be watching the rest of this video with tomorrow's morning coffee.
Coffee is a must!
Impressive, also compressing 8 days of work into a 25 minutes video... VERY impressive! ^^ :) Thanks for the not how-to video. Inspiring for sure! :)
Thanks for checking it out buddy ... definitely an experience out there on the job
My good man, watching your videos makes me want to tow my mini excavator up there and lend a hand so badly! Watching so much labor occur manually… oof. Done that, and you have my sympathies.
Mini excavator! Oh man those things are great. At least I had a chipper on this one … big time sa,ver
Congrats on the new skid steer- and the new goatee
haha ... if only the new skid steer was a cheap as the chin music :)
The Chinese mini was good for the money, but the new Wacker one sounds so smooth and looks powerful!
You still need to design a chipper+dump trailer combo. That would be an awesome project.
yeah you said it about that trailer ... the biggest challenge is getting everything to the job at once
I thought you was going to have a word with your ground crew Spencer nice job there bro your a man that's not afraid of work 💪✊️
Yeah when I catch up with the crew we're gonna have to talk! thanks man
Chipper. Nice one. Your working life will be sooo much better, All the best, Rich
Thanks buddy
Enjoyed the video. That was a big job for sure. You're becoming mechanized....like it or not. Nice chipper you rented. Couldn't do the job without it (unless you wanted to take forever and haul for days😁). You are a worker, that's for sure. That's good, cause keeping busy at things you enjoy is what keeps you going.
Yeah the mechanization is hard to fight ... gotta roll with it. With the chipper I hauled 13 loads of chip out of there. Without it I'm guessing it would have been 30+ trailer loads of brush. Gotta go with what works. Thanks man
This is a deeply satisfying video. Thank you.
Good to hear!
I was wondering when you were going to put walls in the trailer. Didn't think it was going to be 4 foot walls. Lol.
Somehow that dang chip box worked out! I was surprised every day
Nice clean job. Sure would have helped if the ground crew showed up. Chippers are dangerous but ever so much fun
you said it: dangerous but amazing tools
Wow, new equipment, that's awesome! That looked like a fun Job, I like those jobs. Once you have a chipper it's hard to go without one. It was a game changer for me! Thanks for the video, I always enjoy seeing what you're working on! Later! 😉
I can see now what you mean about the chipper ... I'm not set up in a good way to get it to-and-from the job efficiently, but once there it eats a lot of stuff
@@metaspencer Yeah, it sure saves on the body!
Now this was worth the wait...hot dang she turned out nice Spencer!
Big thanks! Yeah, I had some fun with it for sure
absolutely remarkable Spence... well done dude. that looks amazing. I am sure the client is extremely pleased.
It definitely worked out, so pretty satisfying all around :)
Dang Spencer!
Ran slap into some work.
Awesome job as usual
one man band!
you said it man ... if you're not careful, that work will FIND YOU :) good stuff though
Awesome job Spencer u definitely a go getting stay safe
Thanks buddy
I'm impressed you're doing this solo. Here in the DC area, companies send out entire teams to do this.
Yeah those big crews are common here too … just not how I roll out
Excellent job ! Thanks for taking the extra effort and time to video ! Job was hard enough
Good times out there for sure ... always nice to have work
Great video and fair play on the hard work.
Thanks buddy
Great job Spencer. Lot of work for lone man.
yeah it was a big one but pretty satisfying along the way
Oh man- what a gnarly batch of trees! I sat so close to the edge of my seat I nearly tumbled off! 😂 You're a beast to get so much done in one day (wait - it took 14 days! oh wow, still amazing) - and I bet the ground crew is a bit envious of your capabilities! More than once I tensely whispered "watch out for your line!" Whew - Great video, thanks as always for sharing, Spencer!😊
I'll have to talk to the crew ... when and if I find them. :) Thanks for the enthusiasm Gina! :)
Huge job!!! Huge Huge difference!!! Once again great work!
Thanks buddy. Yeah, it was a big one ... nice to be done
Do you still do any handyman work? Or strictly in the tree business? Keep up the good work love the videos!
Strictly trees these days ... it became hard to hold both kinds of insurance so I made a choice
good ole bills.... Do you have any tips on who to go with for insurance? @@metaspencer
That was an awesome transformation! Great work! I love those kinds of jobs. Do you want a chipper now?
I do have some chipper envy, but I'm just not ready for that price tag :)
Excellent video! Thank you for taking us along!
Big thanks!
Wow that was a big job.
yeah crazy big :) but nice to have it done
Nice video
You know how happy I would be if you got a grapple for that skid
Let the happiness flow ... cuz it's on order :)
@@metaspencer woooohoooooooo!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊
All i see is free firewood. Awesome videos new subscriber
You and me both! so much good firewood to bring back to the farm ;)
incredible job!
Thanks buddy!
Nice work
Thanks buddy
That was a lot of nasty wood to cut down. How many hours/days you needed?
As always good and clean work! I had to leave an untidy workplace today, cause of massive rain. Felt bad in the gut....
Greetings from northern Germany
It's always nice to leave things clean at the end of the day, but not always possible. 14 days in all on this job, so a long one. I haven't been to Germany in a while ... good hearing from ya!
@@metaspencer Two weeks! That is for sure a long job! But it is always a satisfying feeling to really earn the money.
❤️👍👍👍
Your ground crew is a bunch of slackers😂😂
That's what I'm talking about! :)
Great job. At the beginning of the video "he bought a chipper" then you mentioned the rental. Expensive and a bitch to maintain. Rental may be the way to go....
Yeah I kinda fear the maintenance on a chipper if I ever bought one -- at this point much better to rent. Money up front but fewer headaches
Wow nice job, looks much better. How many days did it take you to complete it?
14 days of work, all of them rewarding
Yer ya doin the work of three people'
It kinda felt that way :) but good times for sure
Hi Spencer, Those chops would make great ramial chips for apple and chestnut mulch once they are rotten down in a year two. How are those chestnuts doing.
I didn't realize they need to rot down -- but they have been steaming and composting, so I guess the process is underway. I pulled 12 loads of chips out of there so about a million cubic yards :) the chestnuts are doing good! we walked the orchard a few days ago and there are just a few dead ones out there ... so I'm optimistic
If you can add grass and leaves into that mix you'll have a great pile of life to put around those trees. The late Michael Phillips believed in the mycorrhizal fungi from the ramial hips had a great effect on his apple orchards. All I know is after a year or so there's hundreds of worms working the soil that has the rotten chips. I'm very close to having my land logged so I'll be having 3-4 open acres for new chestnut and apple orchards. They'll be leaving 15 ton of chips. Lol.
@@nhmountains5683 That added organic material/energy to the pile makes perfect sense ... exciting about your land! open acres! our apple trees haven't been doing that great so (odd logic?) I think we'll plant more in the spring
I dig the saw rotation. is that a T435? just got one yesterday. almost instantly regretted not going with the 194T but oh well, add to the collection.
I used a bunch of different saws on this job ... maybe you're talking about the 200t at the end? I've run some 194ts over the years and have been happy with them
Nice bro. Ya do like the solo stuff. I like have some help. Otherwise start talkin to myself like a utube vid. But it aint. Power to ya. Thanx
hahahaha! I hear ya man ... when you start going nuts out there it's never a good thing :)
So you now also own a chipper?
Just a rental for jobs like that ... too dang expensive to buy and maintain, from my perspective :)
Looking like a new man….. new bigger machine, using chipper and grew out a goatee…
the goatee was the biggest new thing haha
Great Video. If you are a sole "owner/employee of your own tree service, besides liability insurance, would you also need workmans comp???
Workmans comp is required by law, as I understand it, when you hire even one employee. In addition you need liability insurance and coverage for equipment. With employees ya might want to carry other benefit packages as well
@metaspencer thank you!!! Keep up the great work, brotha!!
Great Work Spencer, I read it took 14 days, not bad for not being superman, is that a 16'' on your stihl?
Yeah I recently got a new stihl 200t and put a 16" bar on it for bigger stuff ... it runs pretty well but I still prefer the 14" for most trees. just less to swing around :)
@metaspencer Awesome, I just put a 16" on my 201tc cause I keep having to cut limbs that are 16 plus, makes it much easier though you lose a little bit of power.
@@dqmc07 yeah the 201 and 200 can handle it
Chippers are expensive to rent!
you said it man ... big $$$
Solid job- how long did it take? I’m surprised you didn’t get everything on the ground first, then rent the chipper, but I’m sure you have your reasons.
14 day job … I see your point but I kinda wanted to clean up as I went. Maybe I’ll try that next time
Ok - didn’t realize 14 days- that’s some job. Makes sense if that’s the case- thanks
Are you still running the haulit conveyor trailer?
No I only had a demo for a few months…you thinking about getting one?
@@metaspencer it’s on our mind for sure. Working with the machines we have, the conveyor design would help with loading purposes alone, much less filling the gap we currently have of not being able to unload with the press of a button.
OMG... ok you leave for a few weeks and the small yellow bus is gone😮😮.. and there's a chipper and a large yellow submarine in You're Arsenal..OHHHH THE HORROR... Probably next time you'll have a ground crew...😫😫😫...
And a crane and a chip box and and and ... no, the reality is that I'll always run with a lightweight setup. This job was just an exception :)
How long did the job take
14 days from beginning to end ... so not what I'd call a quickie :)
Where is our ear plugs???? dammit......... and i was expecting some chipper action, another dammit on this vid, u shudda had ground crew on this job :(
You joking mate?
@@metaspencer joking about the ear plugs?? no, joking about chipper action ..... no ....... and not joking about ground crew cos it was a big job and ur not superman..... atleast ground crew can swing the camera for ya :)~
@@OffGridAussiePrepper I'm a religious ear-protection wearer -- either foamies, a banded set of plugs, or the integrated system with my helmets ... gotta do it! I'll have to find that crew some day :)
@@metaspencer Ahhh i see the mis communication now, When I said where is our ear plugs I meant the audiances earplugs.... it sounded like the mic was put right next to the machine and it was double the volume of when u spoke..... I do see u wearing ear plugs all the time and ur various designed helmets...lol
@@OffGridAussiePrepper hahaha ... I GOT YA now mate! totally understand. thanks for the clarification and keep it real my bro!
