Thanks to all of our Gold Level Patrons! Marisa Alfonso, Wendy Tran, Traci Lew, Matthew Tadros
My favorite thing about this competition is when the chef says “don’t add this” and it cuts to the guys adding it.
If memory serves it's because they film that AFTER they have made the food, so Rachel specifically asks about things she saw the guys do during their cooking time.
yeeah rachel mentioned that in behind the scenes it was so funny i also thought how can it be so connected between the chefs and the try guys XD
It’s hilarious 😂😂😂😂😂
I still love it cause it's so funny 😂the production team is so good@@sws.custom.designs
Me too😂
Keith accidentally kneading his dough properly via repeated trips through the pasta maker is just incredible
Also watching Becky and Matt on their dates lol
He thinks instant noodles is ramen and then calling actual ramen as "fancy" ramen 🤣 This is why you don't call two different food with the same name. Instant noodles is not ramen, so stop calling instant noodles as ramen
not to mention that since it took him so long to MAKE the noodles he only had a few minutes to COOK the ramen so unlike the others who cooked their ramen for way too long he accidentally cooked his noodles the correct amount of time
@@万恶共匪毒害中华 in fact in australia that's what we do, we jsut call them noodles, we NEVER called things like that ramen and i only discovered that via american media
I love how the third judge started out saying that any ramen made without lye water wasn't ramen and then just accepted that any passable form of noodles was ramen lol
I think he knew what he was going into and very much lowered his standards.
He saw what was being served and realized he had to lower the bar A LOT xD
To be fair, I think it was probably the best call for the guys to not add the water which if you use it wrong, it could be a poison.
@@KirbyGroovy
Sodium hydroxide isn't poison per se. It's caustic in large quantities and will cause chemical burns. But lots of commercially prepared foods use it or acids to balance out the acidity.
@@ypw510 still, probably best the guys who don't measure their shit properly didn't use it
Keith accidentally making decent noodles because him taking so long let the dough sort-of rest is one of the funniest twists in this episode 😂
IKR??? Those boys will learn eventually that you always gotta let the dough rest. Keith stumbled into it by accident, and made the closest broth on purpose!!!
😂😂😂😂😂 right
He rerolled the dough so much he accidentally laminated it and got firmer noodles. 😄
Only happy accidents and😂
My favorite was the pause after all the ducks just before the tasting 🤣🤣🤣 they were so confused 🤣👏🤣
Kwesi's ability to bullshit an incredible dish presentation is honestly admirable. I want like an ounce of his confidence 😂
Be that confident then! It's all just made up faith in yourself you can do it too
"feel the caribbean breeze" from the donut episode still lives rent-free in my head
Man you can bottle and sell that confidence
@@thembill8246 I think that's called "Alcohol"

So glad Rachel gave the guys safety precautions for the lye water. Can just picture one of them drinking directly from the container! 😂
i absolutely expected a cut from the expert saying “do not ever ever drink this” to zack or jared sticking their finger in there and tasting it
Probably not a good idea giving them acid. Should have given them chicken broth
I was a little worried that they weren’t going to tell them.
This is why Rachel is such an important part of the Try Guys team. She'll absolutely sit back and let the chaos happen, let the guys figure things out themselves but will step in if they're about to potentially cause actual harm.
@@Tuturial464 Base, not acid. :) Still bad haha.
“ I’m a little soup slut short and stout” is SUCH an underrated Zach line
its everything, kicked off cozy season if you will
Best quote, hoping for merch lol
@AdrianaMIpock holding out for a comfy sweater maybe ? 🤞🏽
Oh, it's an instant classic in my eyes!
Plzzzzz bring back the soup slut merch 😩
Jared: "It's not that spicy."
Keith: "I want to try it."
Jared: "Keith don't try it, it's too spicy."
He's a real one for protecting Keith's tongue from pain.
I love how Zach just forced Jared to add the whole tub of Cajun spice and he went along with it 🤣
@@furygeist he’s a sweetie

Keith's dissociated, half mumbled "Noodles :0" when the judges excitedly call his noodles noodles is everything

Jared caught it 😂😂😂

I deeply enjoy that even though they have poisoned Rosanna Pansino she still comes back with a smile everytime
She’s so sweet
When did they poison her?
@@Naataalliie one could argue that it happened in every episode in some way or another
She's the MVP of Without a Recipe.
@@Naataalliieevery time they feed her 😢
Kwesi and Keith cheering each other on at the end vs Zach and Jared looking like they just left a warzone is sending me
The contrast of Keith and Kwesi high fiving and cheering then cutting to Zach and Jared in complete silence, both with a thousand yard stare, smoke rising from one of the pots that's about to bubble over and Zach covered in flour was hilarious 😭
amazing editing.
It really tells you how much they've all grown that ZACH is somehow the voice of reason in a kitchen space
Thinks back at zack's cookies that even he didn't know what was in even if he made them
After everything that happened last year. Makes sense
Zach has rapidly made his way to being my favorite.
How much they’ve grown? Or how much the others regressed…👀
@@juliaboskamp96660+00+
The ghost of Eugene compelling Zach to just dump the spice onto the water and Keith to make his dough feel like a butt is so funny to me
I wish he could be here for all of this series
Zach has evolved to Keith, Jared is now Zach, Keith has replaced the good energy Eugene, and Kwesi has become the "FUCK IT!" Eugene energy.
It's not that I'm new but I don't watch try guys often anymore but where is Eugene?
@@Gamd0102he’s focused on a ton of other independent projects

Honestly I love the rotation because the try guys isn’t just Keith Eugene or Zach it’s become the try friends/family.
And Zach and Keith have said after the departure of you know who that they don’t want a 4th try but they’ll bring special guests aka “their friends” on if any of them are busy

@@zeroruno yah, if you think that the Mr. Beast thing was a really big deal, then you must think everything in your life is a big deal. She didn't go through trauma because of a competition where it looked like she was placed further than 3rd. Everyone in the tv and reality industry literally goes through it where something was twisted and altered for certain entertainment 💀 Silly little drama common now lmaoo .saying the women been through so much is just overdramatic
Duck duck duck had me in TEARS when Keith introduced it. Like we know why but the judges were just waiting for Goose 🤣
When they announced the winner I thought they would say duck duck duck 😂
@@ZaynMalik-sq2li same 😂 p.s Keith’s ramen looked amazing
Keith missed the chance of calling it Duck Duck Gray Duck which is the only correct way to play the child's game.
Coincidentally or not, Keith making duck soup with scallions is reminiscent of a famous Japanese proverb: “a duck comes bearing scallions” (鴨が葱を背負って来る) which means “a stroke of good luck” or “things becoming more convenient”. How apt, considering he managed to win the first Without a Recipe episode of the season, and while making a Japanese dish to boot.
Excuse me... is that what pokemon farfetch'd means?!?!
I always thought that lil duck was carrying a leek but... this makes more sense
@@kimeee2 Yes! That’s where Farfetch’d comes from!
Should've gotten Keith a goose egg! He could've made a soft boiled goose egg for his duck duck goose ramen.
YES
Matt and Eugene have some quails, so they've been giving out the eggs like crazy so they don't go to waste. (To be clear, I agree with the goose egg idea! I'm just providing context of why they have the quail eggs, for those who don't listen to the podcasts.)
Yes, also foie gras is produced by straight up force feeding goose until they get a super fatty liver. It's banned in a lot of places as it's pretty straight up evil.
@@TechnologyFMLman I gotta catch up with YCSWU cuz I had no idea wtf

while everyone else kinda played it safe, I love how kwesi immediately just went for DICKS IN A BOWL and I think that really embodies the chaos of earlier seasons when none of them knew anything and I just love that, ty kwesi ❤
It was bringing Eugene thematic energy and I was there for it lol
Eugene would have been proud
He really fit the chaos well 😂
“This is the pubes”
I thought it was overdone and just obnoxious. Clear just grab for attention, yawn
(Spoilers) the fact that Zach actually looked like he knew what he was doing and still got fourth was hilarious
I know I always root for Zach in these and every time I think wow he has such a good idea and he’s doing such a good job then he still gets fourth 😂
Great ideas! Mixed execution 😂
they did Zach so dirty though!!
you have to consider who he was next to when he looked like he knew what he was doing lol. if his matzah or noodles were edible he might have even won though. those two things really hurt him
Yeah :D He should feel proud though! Fourth for a delicious meal with some unfortunate raw elements that would have been fine with slightly more time is much better than fourth for an inedible dish (looking at you, bread...)
I love how Jared truly cares for Keiths tongue. Hes so aware of Keiths actual limits and its so aware in every video hes in. I love their friendship its so pure.
That’s what friendship is for. He’s a sweetheart ❤
I so badly wanted Keith to call his Ramen "Duck Duck Soup."
I wanted duck duck grey duck since I’m from Minnesota and that’s what I played as a kid.
@@FifthAveAtFiveit turned into duck duck grey duck, cuz they didn’t get him goose foie gras lol so you kinda got your wish :3

I really enjoy Jared’s presence. He is so JOVIAL. It’s just so nice.
I want to be his friend.
@@EsotericEmpress me too and Zac they seem like emotional types like understanding people, a listener.
The look into the camera after the shrimp shell question 😂😂 too funny
Jovial. That's a really good word to describe his energy lol
I love that he always takes care to tell Keith when food is going to be too spicy for him. Kwesi and Jared have a great attitude for WAR
Jared is such a treat, and I'm thankful that he's been included more in the try guys videos. He always brings a chaotic but incredibly kind energy? Not sure how to explain it.
I would describe him as Santa on cocaine
I can explain it in one simple image: him pouring a whole pot of cajun seasoning into the pot or the face he makes after saying he left shell on the shrimp
Agreed! I love him
He's just pure, childish joy
Very chaotic good vibes 😅
I felt the pain in Zach's eyes after helping jared and getting 4th place himself 😂
Lol
Everyone: Without a Recipe is back!!! YEAHHH!!!
Also everyone: I wonder which Eugene will turn up this season
Also wondering WHEN he will show up😂
Yes he will! He was in the promo and he said that he dedicated his "dishes" to his Mom and sisters. This was filmed May so he's probably not in all of them.
purgatory eugene: fixing his past recipes
I'm scared and excited.
Hopefully: All of them
I am obsessed with Jared's vibe in this video! When he said he left the shrimp shell on and stared right into the camera with a look of sheer terror... I have not laughed so hard in years.
LIKEWISE 😂😂😂
Does anyone else just ADORE Jared? He looked so genuinely thrilled to be third place and his personality is just so amazing 😂 I could watch him all day. What a GREAT addition to the show!
I so badly want them to do a series of cooking lessons with him. Do it in the style of some of the older tries stuff where they go to an expert, learn, then try on their own.
He sounds like po from Kung fu panda, and has similar vibes
Yeah he's always happy and yet clueless. Good energy. Positive
The moment where Zach was like "To make the broth? You don't make broth. Broth is made. It comes in a box!" Those are essentially the same words my mom said to me when I was making ramen broth from scratch a couple years ago. XD
I'd be like, "Yeah, but where does that box of broth come from? Hm? How do they make it?"
It was ridiculously hilarious to watch him trip about it; I honestly did something similar when attempting to make a soup for the first time 😂
That moment horrified me. I remember asking my mom if we could buy premade stock once and she went on a 10min rant 😂
In the episode where they got makeovers from little girls it blew Zach's mind that Roman was able to just make a pair of pants.
I'm just remembering the number of times that I've walked into the kitchen and seen my mom's massive stockpot on the stove because she was making vegetable stock. Chicken stock can be made simultaneously with a nice plain chicken (not bland, just plain- it's great for picky eaters), which is a trick I learned from my grandmother.
The energy in this is so much better than previous seasons, it honestly shows they did the right thing changing things up! Can’t wait to see Eugene too!
YES!! It’s chaotic, creative, still high stakes and serious, but also they are having fun. And the best part is they are taking big swings / creative risks (like just adding ALL the Cajun seasoning, and each guy’s concept). I loved this episode!
Definitely! My first time watching an episode all the way through. I do think Kwesi and Jared made the difference. They have infectious energy. Other episodes seemed too much fake energy. Those two newbies were just so genuinely happy to be in the mix on this.
I miss Eugene
What happened to Eugene?
I honestly prefer it without you know who’s vibes. It’s just so chaotic and fun, but a lot less… agressive haha I see a lot more teamwork and I’m so excited to see how this season is going to unfold!
“For sure, I got the water taste” is such an incredible line. Thank you, Jared.
So excited to be a part of this new season, WAR is one of my favorite shows of all time to film! I was excited for last season because the guys have actually started to get fairly good at cooking/baking... but now there are new contestants and... I dont know what to expect...
Here we go... wish me luck!😅
We love you Rosanna Panasino 💗
Good luck Rosanna, here’s to hoping everything is cooked from here on out this season
Always a joy to see you in these videos. For me, you're as much a part of what makes WAR great as the guys are.
We love you!!!
❤️ I am always so excited to see you as a judge. I do feel for ya though..... I would be so scared to eat anything from them, except maybe Keith 😂 he seems like he can come fairly well.
I love the pairings because Jared is Zach pre-WAR and Kwesi is Keith. Also the fact they keep referencing what they’ve learned from Eugene
Kwesi has been the most Eugene like with the wiener ramen
@@Rinno-sempaibut Eugene would have used actual balls for them 😂

Jared and Kwesi are brilliant! Happy whenever they're in a video so together? Perfect

the way that zach and kwesi asked for rosanna's opinions first because they knew she'd be the gentlest 😭
“I’m a little soup slut short and stout” my new favorite Zach quote
Love that even tho Eugene isn’t in this episode, Keith and Zach bring his spirit in by quoting or enacting how Eugene would be like in the kitchen 😂😂
And then Kwesi decided to do a dick-theme which is very in character for Eugene! Lol
Kwesi really honored him
Mixing up the cast with new unexperienced cooks was the perfect idea! Very excited to see more of Jared and Kwesi this season, hilarious

I’d love to see Ryan Bergara on this series since Shane Madej did Phoning It In😂 also I wanna see Kelsey Immpiche and Joyce Louis Jean as well
@@jenniferlopez2929 we probably all thought Zac would of nailed this episode of ramen cause he’s a soup slut but nope 😂
Loving Rosanna dying on spice while our guest judge has got his mouth full of broth and shrimp like he’s not affected 😂
That was so funny Rosanna's daintily chugging water and the other judge is tearing up those shrimp 😂
"Ok there's AP flour, buckwheat flour and bread flour"
"AP! It seems like the smartest!"
Zach, smiling like a proud father: "He's like me ☺"
My instinct would be to go for the bread flour because Italian pasta is made with high-gluten flour and soba is made with buckwheat, but apparently you're supposed to avoid developing the gluten that much with ramen- part of the reason for the lye water- so I guess they literally just chanced on the right answer.
Somehow Kwesi is giving all the Eugene energy and Jared is giving a mix of Zach and Keith 😂
I love how they were basically like "The Try Guys are getting too experienced with cooking. Lets get some total noobs in here for the really nostalgic incompetence."
How long till Uncle Roger reviews this and there is NO experience?
I love Mama Rachel just flying in when Kwesi doesn't know how to end his schpeal and just saying: "Just say thank you" LOL I died
17:20 lil eugene in the tiny screen slapping a dough butt is just precious
I'm loving Jared in without a recipe. He should definitely do it again

I love any video he participates in.
And Kwesi too!! They both have great energy. Jared is in fact poppa tho. No doubt. lol.
Definitely and he'll also learn how to cook and bake...at least a little bit lmao
I think these 4 will be in 2 more episodes and then the remaining three episodes will feature Eugene and Marissa and two others
Also I can’t wait to see Monique Chan, Mythical Chef Trevor and Josh judge too 😂
Zach being so appalled that he lost while Jared was so excited de got 3rd 😂😂😂😂
I laughed so hard at his reaction!
RIGHT, I had to rewatch that several times. He was like 'ok, at least i'm not gonna get fourth' HAHAHAHAH!!!!
Zach pointing out both Jared and Kwesi not being experienced, definitely sent me 😂😂😂😂
“AP cause it’s smarter”

I’m half Jewish half Japanese, so Zach’s ramen made me giggle.
Once again, I always love the juxtaposition of
Expert: "Whatever you do, do not do X."
*immediate cut to any given Try Guy doing X*
I always wonder about that, do they film those segments *after* the judging because it feels like its geared so specifically to what the guys did.
@@BioYuGi In the Second Try "producers react" video (which is awesome, btw), Rachel explains that they shoot those videos after the guys cook so they can specifically warn against whatever wild ideas the guys tried.
oh ok, it makes sense ^^@@ace-of-bats
everyone being surprised about Keith’s noodles being NOODLES is so funny
So actually in Hokkaido, putting butter in ramen is pretty normal. It's a regional variation thing and it's a nice little additive during winter. Also, Hokkaido is where butter comes from here. Every prefecture/region has a food thing that they're known for and often Hokkaido gets associated with potatoes and butter. There's probably some other things too, but those are the two most significant that come to mind when I'm at the grocery store.
Yeah I was confused on the guy they chose to talk about Ramen.
@@pissum420 The guy worked in a US restaurant. To be fair it probably isn't "traditional" in that when ramen was first popularized in Japan Hokkaido wasn't a butter industry yet, and I don't really expect a US restaurant worker to be aware of Japanese food trends. For the US, he's probably the best "expert" they could contact though.
Im not in charge of Momofuku in 2 major locations but I watched enough Abroad in Japan videos + other JVLOGers to know that. Even CDawgVA did it during his cycle and he can not cook for the life of him@@ReikaSensei
@@GBreezy57 That might be so, but I don't know if someone running a restaurant would watch those necessarily? Like when people work, they tend to focus on what's in front of them and in the restaurant business it's basically like an apprenticeship so he would have learned just what the head chef taught and the restaurant industry is busy, so what little time he would have had to himself I have doubts he would look up ramen trends in Japan. It's a huge miss yeah, but one I can see how a blindspot like that likely happened. He's just a guy that knows how Momofuku makes ramen. He's not a ramen connoisseur or food historian or Japanese cuisine expert.
Also, like the US in general has a problem with cultural appropriation and fusion foods, so he's accurately pointing out that it's not traditional. Whether or not It's a trend that is taking off in modern Japanese ramen circles is a different conversation let alone what different regional ramen styles are. Japan has a huge feel of locality toward "This dish is from ___", but when the dish is brought overseas and put next to other similar dishes you lose that awareness unless you really know Japan.
Butter as a topping isn't the same as butter when making the broth guys
Kwesi was really the highlight of this episode for me, him saying “I got quail eggs cuz they’re cute” was so real
i always love when the professional is saying what not to do and then the cut to the try guys doing exactly that
It’s because Rachel plans it that way. She said on one of the videos that she watches what they do wrong and then interviews the judge after and questions them about those specific things so they say not to do it.
Jared being appalled about every aspect of this process is beyond hysterical.

I first saw Jared in the "Guys Wear Dresses for A Week" video and honestly, I was charmed. Seeing him on Without A Recipe has only cemented that opinion. This guy is adorable.
11:45 Jared’s reaction to Zach’s soup broth and the moment they have together is top notch. Such great energy. I love when Jared & Kwesi join the guys.
"Just say thank you"
Just another proof that Rachel is indeed a mom to the guys!
I wonder if each time Ro wakes up to judge at another WAR, she thinks to herself, "Well, today might be the day I perish from food poisoning!" 😂😂
Keith is in his redemption arc after all those “Daddy’s favorite” fourth place fails lol. Seems him and Zach are swapping roles 😂
To be fair, cinnamon raisin ramen would be a really dumb idea
@@RiveroftheWither haha it would. But a lot of greek dishes consist of of dough, minced meat and cinnamon/nutmeg and a cream sauce so its not totally random if he did do that.
I haven’t even finished the video but Jared is such a fun addition to this!! Kwesi too, of course but Jared just reminds me so much of Zach when the series started lmao
I LOVED the addition of Jared, he fits in without a recipe perfectly, his energy is everything
“It’s tiiiiiimmmeee!” -Me waking up this morning knowing WAR is starting
The new cast of guests they've collected are amazing. It's definitely one of the best things this channel has done. Its like they've got their own smosh thing going on.
Sadly unlike Anthony, their 'missing' member is not coming back, since he didn't left on its own but was RIGHTLY kicked out because of all the mess he did, putting the rest of the guys and company at risk.
IMO Ned’s departure made them stronger and more cohesive. I am sorry that the guys went through such a difficult time, but I’m glad they came out the better for it. And I’m always happy when Jared and Kwesi are part of it.
I do wish Eugene was in more videos though, I know he's got stuff he's working on but its been forever since one of the videos ive watched has had him in it, for a while i was wondering if he retired lol
I think it gave them the freedom to just be a channel with content they thought up. They no longer had to stick to the whole "four friends that try stuff" theme they had built off of. And it has worked out magnificently!@@ExpandingHeart
zach’s stunned face when jared got third and was so thrilled was too cute!
Happy to see more of Jared!
Kwesi is also always welcome.
Great choices for W.A.R.
YES they are so great
I think I’m the most impressed with Zach here. The progress he’s made shows just how much he’s retained from these episodes. I love the growth🥺💛
ya, except maztaballs take an hour to cook!
Zach's hoodie is so bright, it makes everyone else look like they're in black and white.
I love how Jared just pulls out the charisma and low key feeds compliments to the judges like he’s giving them lines 😂🍤
Jared’s energy is so infectious
I'm in culinary school. And this is by far my favorite series on RUclips. It is funny watching how much people don't actually know what to do in a kitchen. This should annoy me but it doesn't it does the opposite it makes me so happy.❤❤❤
That's why we value professionals like yourself!!! I am on the try guys level ha
i love the new try guys concept of basically the try guys and friends. i love everyone’s energy and personalities everything just clashes soo so well.
Keith's quiet, breathy, disbelieving statement of "noodles 😮" was adorable.
