I have lost signal probably a dozen times, so thank God they fixed it. Fortunately I fly over a very empty field at the edge of a park so there was no danger to anything but my drones. I am going to update and go fly now.

Thanks for the update. Since downloading the new firmware my crossfire receivers have issues, did work before downloading new firmware, maybe a coincidence but had issues immediately after downloading the firmware, receivers not connecting solid red light.
This is great news. I’m just starting in fpv and building my own. I literally just bought the Goggles 3 and the O3 Air Unit to build my first fpv drone. The night I received the goggles I watched Mads video stating the combo should not be used together. What a bummer. Glad to hear I can proceed now.
Really wish DJI will make O4 air unit compatible with remote that has built-in screens like RC2, would be great for RC cars, or just casual flying like the camera drones.

Hey Ian, I think the random signal loss is not fixed yet. After I first armed my Pavo Pico, 3 seconds elapsed and my video cut out for a second, DVR stopped automatically but after that I could fly. I will test it more but what do you think? Did someone else experience this with the new G3 firmware?
@@reedfpvnice, I also experienced 0mbit after arm... I don't know if it's G3's unique problem or not but it didn't look too good. I report it to DJI and I suggest you to do the same
So happy with my v1 goggles with vista and wtfos… full hd osd, menus, no overheat, no bugs, small cameras so they are not exposed as much …. Compatibility with v1 DJI controller (modded with ag01 gimbals) means I have one less component and one less antenna to worry about

HELP NEEDED Hi Ian, I am in need of some assistance. I recently purchased a flyfish Volador, speedybee F405 V3 and the 03 air unit along with my goggles and controller 3. All put together fine. When I hooked it up to Betaflight, the motors set up fine, but the controller was nowhere to be seen. In the receiver tab the bar are all white. In the goggles, I am unable to select the button customization section or the rates. SBUS is selected where it needs to be, I have tried another different goggles and controllers 3 to eliminate them. my goggles and controller work and another drone tested last night. Do you have any idea what I have done wrong? Reagrds a very frustrated man, Alan
Same here, I'm convinced it's a firmware issue In the o3, I switched back to my g2 and had a disconnect. Downgraded the o3 firmware never had another disconnect. I was not surprised after 2 packs my goggles 3 disconnected 50 ft away from me.
Hi Mate .. could you do some more testing to see if this firmware update affects the O4 Avata 2? I had a weird issue today-started noticing jitter and lag while flying the Avata 2 with the G3 (after applied new G3 firmware). I was only about 30 meters away, not in LOS though. Never had this happen before.
For my O3 and Goggles 3, twice I’ve taken off and the link was broken right away to the feed (it went blank). Absolutely still an issue, just take off somewhat soon after arming…ya’ll will see I bet lol😅. I’ve also experienced the micro disconnects while flying, I will say those connect back rather fast (noticeable like a bit of lag happened) but yes fast connection back. My solution has been to tap the throttle just slightly after arming, and then take off like normal (basically just being patient for a moment or 2 and giving it some stick inputs). Someone go test this as well and back me up 💪😎
Appreciate you guys confirming it’s not just me :). I’m use to a bunch of angry dji ppl denying it at first usually lol. I have not had this happen while mid air have you guys? Mine is always at takeoff only right now.
@Jsvids85 alot of people say DJI have fix it, I took pause ask myself if the 2 new 03 only quad is having issue😅 out of 9 batts tested on 2 03 quads. 1 freeze and 1 sudden disconnection.

DJI better remove the hard limit on O4, or someone needs to find a way because I really want the capability to go further. Also, theoretically, couldn't you remove the OSD telemetry from O3 so it does not know when it hits 23.4 km?
@@MadRC Was there a reason DJI did this? I hadnt heard about this until now. What happens when you reach 23.4Km's? I guess any LR flight vids i saw over 30Km werent O3's then lol. Does the DJI Air Unit & Vista's have this "hard limit" also or does it use a different communication method that doesnt cause this? Also can you increase the Range of the AU/Vista with just power upgrades? Like an external RF Amplifier setup that some/one site sells. I think its a 2.5W bi-directional signal amplifier and it has a part that attaches to the DJI drones themselves, but it also supports the FPV Goggles V2 and the Air Unit/Vista it says. Just wondering if i would get a decent range increase..? I have the iflight dbi gain patch antennas CF panel & 2 stubby Omni's on my V2's now and they definitely helped a lot, especially on my Avata, its the most noticeable id say..
Still a failed update Imo, ive tested this new update 1.00.0500 released on 10/16 24 . now if the air unit overheats just before or during take off, then the video will not come back on until disarmed and re armed. even if you power off goggles it must disarm to reconnect from overheat. great video mate
I posted about this yesterday but thank you so much for putting more info behind it. I wasn’t catching that when it happened (air unit was overheating too). But absolutely I can replicate this over and over again. Appreciate you posting this info! 💪😎

Reminds me of one of my Maxims when I was a Software Developer: If you treat your users like idiots, you will be left with only idiot users. Funny enough, it took 4 years of me of being labeled (brilliant but) difficult in a couple of companies and one very real talk with a friend turned manager until it clicked for me: Idiots are at least 95% anyway, and that's not just users but also devs and management. Even IF they grasped what we talk about, nobody wants to do the extra work to cater our demographic, even though the power users are critical assets. The concept is above their comprehension. I haven't gone back to work for 1.5 years now, and I don't think I'll spend another day in a big company in the future. Anyway, discalimer, I'm venting for American companies. Having worked with Chinese teams, I'm sure reasons for the dynamic is VERY different, but still as damaging.
I'm looking for some new goggles, was holding off on the G3's because of the O3 issue. Now they announce the N3's. Do you think it's worth holding out that bit longer to see what the N3's are like or just get the G3's now?
g3 or goggles 2.. both oled with 2 screens. N3 won't be anywhere as premium, more like a box goggle. If you want cheap and cheerful then N3 by the looks of it, OLED then G3, the largest FOV then goggles V2 (but older and LCD)

@MrWheezyE420 been flying with my g3 for a couple weeks now. Beyond my expectations. Came from an old school analog box diy goggle with a rather large screen and was worried the g3 screen wouldn't be as immersive as my diys. The g3 provided an even bigger fov and the picture quality is unreal good. Range and penetration is fantastic with the 03 air unit. Very comfortable wearing them. I'd buy the g3 a hundred times over.
@MrWheezyE420 I still love my original v1 Dji goggles and have quads i still fly with them. Each release of a new system, as amazing as it is, is still diminishing returns. High quality fpv NOW is better than slightly better fpv later. If money is tight, v1 dji fpv on the used market is cheaper than analogue. Money no objection g2 or g3
I mean fair point and perhaps you played a key role in the g3 fix but I guess I see some reason in not taking advice from outside help that they didn't ask for? But if they did nice job to both parts! I like dji and you seem smart too. not sure I like what you said about them tho. Just happy it's fixed! Now I can build a faster drone than the avata 2 :D

You are correct they do not have to work with me that is fine but it's their PR departments job to address issues like this and they continue to refuse to do so. DJIs release notes are frankly a joke and I will continue to highlight the fact they behave in the un consumer friendly manner in many ways. At the very least they can reply to fucking emails.

The faulty update for the Goggles 3 and O3 should never have been published and it's somewhat a shame that it took more than 2 Months to fix it but...at least it's fixed now. I have the feeling that DJI is pushing too many Products in such a short time and that seems to be problematic with QC. The communication was as well very bad and needs improvement. The contacts that I had with DJI in the last few Weeks were completely on different level and satisfactory. From now on I will not be an early adopter anymore. Sady I sold my Goggles 2 as soon as the update came out....I will be more careful in the future for sure!
in my experience radio master is even worse... dji have actually helped me and got me what i needed but they are both not great... great video as always my friend!

I nearly lost my quad with the latest Goggles 3 firmware. It seems they still haven’t fixed the issue where a fast throttle-up on takeoff can cause it to disconnect/black screen for a few seconds 🥲

I'm so dissappointed in DJI bringing out 80% finished products, fixing them to 85% and then just abandon them completely... just to bring out a new 80%er a year later with at best alibi-compatibility. My O3 OSDs still freeze with my Goggles V2 making my best video quads always a challenge to use... with the Goggles 2 they never even seemed to work as good in the first place and now I'm learning that v3 couldn't reconnect on signal loss... I am really tempted to get an Amflow Ebike (the DJI founded brand) but the experience here makes me unable to trust a product of this company with my actual life. If they pull up the same shit in the bike industry they're gone faster then they came.
I've had nothing but excellent experiences with DJI, I own 8 DJI Drones & 3 sets of DJI Goggles, Goggles 3, Goggles V2, Goggles Integra, Mini 3 Pro, Mini 4 Pro, AIR 2S, AIR 3, Mavic 3 Pro, Avata 2, DJI FPV Drone, Neo. Dji has always fixed my issues & DJI care refresh replacement program is excellent. I have care refresh on 6 of my DJI Drones, & ive only had to use it once, but they were super fast in replacing my drone.

While I understand that one would hope for a response from feedback provided to a company, your rant comes across as a bit too bitter. I think on the customer service side of things, the average user who needs to contact DJI has had very positive experiences with them. Just my $0.02. @@MadRC I agree with you on at least receiving some sort of reply or response after your email submission to them, but beyond a form letter/email "thanks and we got it" from a large company like DJI I wouldn't hold my breath. I have run much smaller companies than DJI, and I can tell you it was a huge chore for our customer service departments to actively keep up with questions, inquiries, thank yous, etc. I feel your pain though. Again, good video, keep up the great work, and I'm sure eventually companies like DJI will acknowledge your value and input and give you a more direct information exchange pipeline for the future.

lol. Can you for once just say something nice about DJI without having some backhanded retort? Care Refresh is unmatched in terms of coverage. It’s fast, reliable, and inexpensive. Have you ever worked with Autel? 6-8 months for a replacement or repair. DJI: 1-2 weeks. It sounds like you’re actually bitter about DJI not wanting to work with you on your channel.
It's clear to see that DJI customer service is doing the bare minimum by accepting a complaint and issuing no follow up. It shows immaturity as a company because they are not willing to acknowledge flaws in their products. The way DJI acts with its updates is testament as to why the US Government has trust issues. For a company that has been around for so long, their transparency is atrocious. If DJI doesn't wake up and smell the coffee and the US Government gets it's way, then it will only be a matter of time before a lot of other Governments follow suit.

Put it in another perspective, your relationship with DJI is just like you as a Windows user with Microsoft. You may report some bugs to Microsoft and Microsoft would come up with a fix in its monthly updates. This is exactly what DJI has done to come up with the solution. All companies software updates releases basically follow the same pattern wording expression ("fixed some known issues", from DJI, for example. Or no expression at all only"monthly updates", from Microsoft, for example), there is no company as I know that has to announce their indebtedness to a bug reporter for the software fix. Why do you think that what Microsoft wouldn't do but DJI should? Who do you think you are? DJI designated US COO? You complain about DJI "childish", actually you are the guy more like a spoiled crying baby in this regard.

I had the same experience, armed, then black screen. I had to disarm, since i was close to a race track. F**k this. going back to the g2

Set mine up again was flying goggles 2 after loosing a GoPro 11 mini FC T motor Fetec Alpha too sucked I also lost a 03 Air unit.

No it's all done via packet timing. There is no way to remove the range restrictions on O3 and there likely never will be.

I'm looking for some new goggles, was holding off on the G3's because of the O3 issue. Now they announce the N3's. Do you think it's worth holding out that bit longer to see what the N3's are like or just get the G3's now?
g3 or goggles 2.. both oled with 2 screens. N3 won't be anywhere as premium, more like a box goggle.
If you want cheap and cheerful then N3 by the looks of it, OLED then G3, the largest FOV then goggles V2 (but older and LCD)
@@doccock100 Thanks mate! That was where i was leaning and didn't realise the new ones would be single screen. That's a hard pass for me then. I'll order the G3 as my local FPV seller has a deal on the G3s at the moment.
@MrWheezyE420 been flying with my g3 for a couple weeks now. Beyond my expectations. Came from an old school analog box diy goggle with a rather large screen and was worried the g3 screen wouldn't be as immersive as my diys. The g3 provided an even bigger fov and the picture quality is unreal good. Range and penetration is fantastic with the 03 air unit. Very comfortable wearing them. I'd buy the g3 a hundred times over.
@MrWheezyE420 I still love my original v1 Dji goggles and have quads i still fly with them.
Each release of a new system, as amazing as it is, is still diminishing returns.
High quality fpv NOW is better than slightly better fpv later.
If money is tight, v1 dji fpv on the used market is cheaper than analogue.

But if they did nice job to both parts! I like dji and you seem smart too. not sure I like what you said about them tho. Just happy it's fixed! Now I can build a faster drone than the avata 2 :D
My complaints are over DJIs refusal to even discuss issues with me or the community and not even acknowledge them publicly. You are correct they do not have to work with me that is fine but it's their PR departments job to address issues like this and they continue to refuse to do so.
DJIs release notes are frankly a joke and I will continue to highlight the fact they behave in the un consumer friendly manner in many ways.
At the very least they can reply to fucking emails.

I love your channel and appreciate your content but I felt there was too much whining in this post about DJI not working with you. I'm sure that is disappointing for you, but that is not a deal breaker for me as I'll evaluate DJI based on their products, not whether they will acknowledge you.

The faulty update for the Goggles 3 and O3 should never have been published and it's somewhat a shame that it took more than 2 Months to fix it but...at least it's fixed now. I have the feeling that DJI is pushing too many Products in such a short time and that seems to be problematic with QC. The communication was as well very bad and needs improvement. The contacts that I had with DJI in the last few Weeks were completely on different level and satisfactory. From now on I will not be an early adopter anymore. Sady I sold my Goggles 2 as soon as the update came out....I will be more careful in the future for sure!
I asked DJI for the beta, they said, you know what, wev will just give you the stable instead and they did 😂 haven't tested long range yet

We simply don't know. Technically DJI can add support like they did for Avata 2 however that's down to them. There will be limitations as well though.

in my experience radio master is even worse... dji have actually helped me and got me what i needed but they are both not great... great video as always my friend!

I nearly lost my quad with the latest Goggles 3 firmware.
It seems they still haven’t fixed the issue where a fast throttle-up on takeoff can cause it to disconnect/black screen for a few seconds 🥲

I'm so dissappointed in DJI bringing out 80% finished products, fixing them to 85% and then just abandon them completely... just to bring out a new 80%er a year later with at best alibi-compatibility. My O3 OSDs still freeze with my Goggles V2 making my best video quads always a challenge to use... with the Goggles 2 they never even seemed to work as good in the first place and now I'm learning that v3 couldn't reconnect on signal loss...
I am really tempted to get an Amflow Ebike (the DJI founded brand) but the experience here makes me unable to trust a product of this company with my actual life. If they pull up the same shit in the bike industry they're gone faster then they came.

I've had nothing but excellent experiences with DJI, I own 8 DJI Drones & 3 sets of DJI Goggles, Goggles 3, Goggles V2, Goggles Integra, Mini 3 Pro, Mini 4 Pro, AIR 2S, AIR 3, Mavic 3 Pro, Avata 2, DJI FPV Drone, Neo. Dji has always fixed my issues & DJI care refresh replacement program is excellent. I have care refresh on 6 of my DJI Drones, & ive only had to use it once, but they were super fast in replacing my drone.

While I understand that one would hope for a response from feedback provided to a company, your rant comes across as a bit too bitter. I get your frustration that, for some reason, they choose not to work with you, but that is their choice. I think on the customer service side of things, the average user who needs to contact DJI has had very positive experiences with them. Just my $0.02. @@MadRC I agree with you on at least receiving some sort of reply or response after your email submission to them, but beyond a form letter/email "thanks and we got it" from a large company like DJI I wouldn't hold my breath. I have run much smaller companies than DJI, and I can tell you it was a huge chore for our customer service departments to actively keep up with questions, inquiries, thank yous, etc. I feel your pain though. Again, good video, keep up the great work, and I'm sure eventually companies like DJI will acknowledge your value and input and give you a more direct information exchange pipeline for the future.

DJI's poor comunications and treatment of anyone who calls them out is the typical Chinese (Face Culture)
They are a shame culture and not a guilt culture.
If they don't get caught out doing something wrong they basically sweep it under the carpet and it never happened.
If they do get caught out on an error, and/or called out on something they clearly have done wrong they lose face, so they pretend nothing happened.

lol. Can you for once just say something nice about DJI without having some backhanded retort? Care Refresh is unmatched in terms of coverage. It’s fast, reliable, and inexpensive. Have you ever worked with Autel? 6-8 months for a replacement or repair. DJI: 1-2 weeks. It sounds like you’re actually bitter about DJI not wanting to work with you on your channel.
I say lots of good things about DJI. That's not to say they don't behave badly and don't get called out about it.
It's clear to see that DJI customer service is doing the bare minimum by accepting a complaint and issuing no follow up. It shows immaturity as a company because they are not willing to acknowledge flaws in their products. The way DJI acts with its updates is testament as to why the US Government has trust issues. For a company that has been around for so long, their transparency is atrocious. If DJI doesn't wake up and smell the coffee and the US Government gets it's way, then it will only be a matter of time before a lot of other Governments follow suit.

Mads Tech, you are just a US fpv community self-claimed tech guy while DJI is a world wide leading drone technology company. Put it in another perspective, your relationship with DJI is just like you as a Windows user with Microsoft. You may report some bugs to Microsoft and Microsoft would come up with a fix in its monthly updates. This is exactly what DJI has done to come up with the solution. All companies software updates releases basically follow the same pattern wording expression ("fixed some known issues", from DJI, for example. Or no expression at all only"monthly updates", from Microsoft, for example), there is no company as I know that has to announce their indebtedness to a bug reporter for the software fix. Why do you think that what Microsoft wouldn't do but DJI should? Who do you think you are? DJI designated US COO? You complain about DJI "childish", actually you are the guy more like a spoiled crying baby in this regard.
