hi shaun i noticed you have some older dji drones, phantom models. here is a little gem of story for you, true story. 10 years ago, i lost my phantom 2 in a lake in New York State. last week some divers found the drone in 16 feet of water and the images on the card were intact. good thing it was fresh water.
Many thanks for your comment and great news about your Phantom 2 and the images were still okay. I had the Phantom 2 Vision + and it crashed into a fresh water lake, sunk to the bottom, pulled out, dried for a week in rice and still flies now. Today's video is about my Phantom, will it still fly. Many thanks for watching.
Good day Shaun sitting here in the U.K. looking in envy at your 32 degrees of heat, as usual wet and wind here (bummer). I use the goggles 2 that has the same problem in my opinion the internal fan isn’t powerful enough to dry or prevent sweat forming around the eyes. The best goggles I’ve used are the Fatshark goggles that has a much more powerful internal fan that could and have been used for hours in all weather conditions with no issues. Maybe DJI will give an update to improve the fan speed one day! Enjoy your dry sunny conditions, and looking forward to your next videos.🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Thank you Brian for your comment and I can remember those cold, wet days in the UK Good to know about Fatshark goggles being much better and no doubt DJI will bring out another set of goggles - being much better Many thanks for watching and your support
@@shaunthedrone hiya Shaun yes your memory is good with reference to cold wet windy days! We are in so called summer months, God help us in the autumn winter months, it seems to be our trend is wet windy cold days where everywhere else is burning up heat waves etc (global warming) don’t forget to apply your sun cream.🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧😤
The double tap is best described as "Pass Through View" and Quest VR goggles have had that option for a long time. The DJI Goggle 3 have a fan that can be engaged. I don't like that rubber faceplate because it sticks to you face and thanks for that faceplate review.
Many thanks for your comment and I can see another video coming soon with the Anti-fog mode to reduce the temp inside. Many thanks for watching and glad you agreed with the rubber face plate.
Hi Shaun, have you used the Anti fog mode to reduce the temp/ humidity in the Goggles ? - I'm not blessed with your balmy temps (Live in the NE of Scotland !) but interested if it doesn't work in case we do get a summer up here !
Good question and one never used - I can see a video here. I will try this out soon. I think you should be okay with the temps and I think a lot of the RUclips Gods live in cooler climates :) Thank you for your comment.
I agree to this, but as a Valve Index owner, I can confirm that velours pads have the disadvantage that the sucked up sweat definitely stais in there, drys there and develops entirely never seen before types of new bacteria.
Nice…. I agree I’m surprised those RUclips gods haven’t mentioned this, too. I of course don’t have the required permissions yet to start my FPV adventures but this was still an interesting video, man. I bet when I do get those “required permissions” from you know who, I’ll need to do the same. Florida heat sucks!!! Lol
Thank you Kev and hope you soon get those permissions to fly because you're going to love flying the DJI Avata 2, it's so much fun I do enjoy the hot stuff more than the cold days
@@shaunthedronelol. I’m sorta the opposite whereas I prefer the cold days. BUT, our cold days ain’t close to what you get. lol. 45 f is freezing to us! Hahaha
Simple tips: - stay in the shade - be careful with the lens facing the sun as you might get burnt spots on the displays - the lens protector I think it should be facing the other side with the dips towards the lenses Btw, did you notice any dead pixels on the oled screens?
Many thanks for the info and good points - friend of mine had the first DJI FPV and had a few sun ray burns on the screen, which DJI replaced. Goggles are much better now and never noticed any dead pixels on the screens. Many thanks for watching.
@@shaunthedrone I sold my V2 goggles about a month ago in pristine condition (had them for about 2y and used extensively)... no dead pixels, no scratches. Bought a pair of G2, had a stuttering issue while using with the vistas and 7 dead pixels... sent to dji for replacement, new pair arrived, no more stuttering... 5 dead pixels... I will stick to those since the dead pixels are not noticeable during flight. Glad to hear you have a pair with no issues. Could you do a video with range & penetration for the G3 and Avata 2? Thanks for the vid and for your reply.
Hey, curious how you’re coupling the voiceover with the goggles video? Did you edit that in after the flight, or did you figure out a way to live record like you can do with the Mini 4 Pro’s screen record setting, with a mic plugged into the USB-C port? Thanks for the info!.
@@shaunthedrone Thank you Sir for your great videos. You re being very helpfull for me that i m starting in this drones world and i ordered the goggles 3 as the rc motion 3 for my neo. Cheers 🍻
There's definitely too much rubber, and it creates a sweaty mess. Goggles defog can fall behind quickly if youre not cool and dry. If its really hot I ascend my Avata 2 to around 7 or 8 feet, stop it, and stand under the draft while putting on the goggles. This isn't really possible once I move up to a drone without position hold. I will definitely be adding a foam supplement before I move up to a true FPV drone.
Many thanks for your comment and I think the main reason from DJI was, too many people were saying light was getting in on the last set of goggles (2) but I never really noticed it. Many thanks for watching.
I'm down to one eye. Can you let me know if you can see the same visual in each eye? Maybe close one and see if you still have the complete view. Thanks, Joe
Hi m8 I asked the same somewhere , I can confirm after receiving the Goggles 3 you get the same view for each eye , I cant see out the right eye apart from a pinhole of light , you get 2 sets of diopters to choose from for viewing and adjustment levers for focusing best you can . I think I will be ok flying with these like you I was worried each lense would have a different view.
