    I watched your video and found the upgrade tool when I pressed the button to upgrade. It was both worry and expectation. Fortunately, the smooth upgrade from 1055 to 1058. The driving experience improved the problem of turning pedal forward, the turning power was more obvious, and the acceleration torque was enhanced; Thank you very much for sharing the video about updating the firmware through the app

    Adjusting voltage I propose to:
    1. Charge full like you said
    2. Meassure battery voltage with exact multimeter on batteries.
    3. Adjust according to that (real value)
    Why?
    Im pretty sure used wheels wont reach actual 100.8, maybe not even new ones.
    I heard there should be a diode on the charge port (though I doubt it as my wheel loads my charger capacitors after shutting off, have a built in display) so need to meassure directly on batt pack connector CAREFULLY not to short of course.

    • @ElectricUnicycles
      @ElectricUnicycles  3 года назад

      You are absolutely correct. Just way too much effort IMO. Assuming 100.8-volts is close enough for me, considering that when you are riding at those low voltages you are only going a few miles per hour.

    • @bigbadboogie6842
      @bigbadboogie6842 3 года назад

      I wonder if it actually affects operation... Or if it's just read out. For sure i don't think it will affect BMS and balancing, but who knows it might affect the "charging shutoff stage"and in that case it is VERY IMPORTANT to have the right voltage, though i doubt it as it could be a risk (fire and all that). On the other hand BMS will keep leaking so result would be that it never shuts off if adjusted wrong...naaah won't happen as then it wouldn't shut of as batteries degrade

    • @shanesplanetshane3795
      @shanesplanetshane3795 3 года назад

      yup, exactly. No reason to calibrate by guessing, total waste of time. My chargers only put out 100.5v . If I were to simply guess and adjust to 100.8v it would be inaccurate, therby missing the point entirely. I doubt the user adjustments for voltage have ANYTHING to do with the values the bms relies on.

  • @shanesplanetshane3795

    Worked on my version 1. It was updated via a chip and then eventually ota. Battery reported was off by 1.5v, verified thru testing at the pack. I havent really noticed much difference aside from that.

    My Sherman shows 100.8v when fully charged. If your Sherman isn't showing that, it's either due to a bad battery pack or shoddy software.

    • @ElectricUnicycles
      @ElectricUnicycles  3 года назад

      Apparently you aren't aware that 95% of Sherman owners never see 100.8-volts. It's not due to a bad battery or shoddy software. It's called low-quality A/D converters not instrument-grade A/D converters. That's the purpose of the new calibration function, as explained in the video.

    The update worked great for me. Wasn't sure it was worth the risk, but that voltage adjustment convinced me to give it a try.
    Found that the wheel feels a lot more nimble under 1.0.58 than it did under 1.0.56 (V1 version with original rim), and motor control feels a lot smoother. When riding seated it was vibrating forward and back at certain speeds, now it's just as smooth as butter.

      When you make last calibration before you remember?
      Is better or same pedal dip (angle cahnge) behavior in long turns? What mode you ride hard medium soft?
      Becasue on soft mode i have 1.0.56 and V2(red butons) i have problem make fast turn pedal dip down and i no have mental power keep stay on pedal with this dip.
      This is why i prefer medium mode PA+1 (pedal aligment). You feel on 1.0.58 this dip in soft mode too?
      @ElectricUnicycles say i think same. This app is internal leak from person who have waranty problem and distributor send him app to "Fix" EUC. But buyer make app public "leaked" i dont expect funcion like mileage wipe in end user app but i like is here. Big thumb up for Veteran to acept this and keep download link worked. 👍🏻

      Adding some tilt can assist in braking and acceleration. If you have the pedals tilted slightly backwards it can be easier to accelerate. And when I'm descending a long (miles) trail I will often add a 2-degree forward tilt with reduces the amount of effort required to continually brake while descending

    A old z10 can be moded to 58kph.

    • @ElectricUnicycles
      @ElectricUnicycles  2 года назад

      Tilt-back on Gotway and Veteran wheels can not be enabled for high-speeds. Most people who ride Gotway and Veteran wheels turn the tilt-back function off. Then you can go as fast as the wheel allows (~80kph for the Sherman).

    • @WillofNewZealand
      @WillofNewZealand 2 года назад

      @@ElectricUnicycles uniphsyco went 88kph on sherman. Wrong way cut out at 84kph.
      Old sherman went
      58.2kph with tilt back. And as voltage drops tilts back.
      Mr wrong Way demos it well. Until it tilted him back to a stand still. No cut out.
      190kph is top setting.
      but the firmware should
      Allow acceleration toward 190kph unless voltage drops then tilts back.
      Thats how it should work.
