What is an illiberal democracy? A political system without liberal totalitarianism. Perhaps with a politically neutral educational system and media pluralism and without propaganda repackaged as entertainment (sport events, movies, etc.) - things completely absent in the liberal "democratic" West. And with opposition media not relegated to cyberspace, where they are censored and repressed. Some of these things do exist in countries which are not deemed democratic by western liberal regimes, yet they do exist in for instance Turkey or Russia. Wouldn't all that be nice for a change? Food for thought.
