Lol I forgot how to tie my belt right after the instructor told me how when I was a white belt and I just got my 1st degree black belt yesterday and I figured I would watch this to learn how to tie my belt again and it helped. Thank you

THANK YOU SO MUCH! This video is the best! None of the other videos (and I've watched a million of them!) showed the little fold at the start. I never could get the part underneath. With this little trick I've FINALLY managed to tie my belt perfectly on the first try! I love you!!
The butterfly knot is hard to learn, but once learned, like the patterns, impossible to forget! Great tutorial this has helped me perfect my belt knot as I try and progress from green belt, thanks for the upload :)
tysm, i’m a beginner and after days of trying, i couldn’t figure it out, and this video helped me a lot. now i don’t have to ask my teacher for help so many times anymore :-)

this helped so much, when i usually tied my belt, the last two pieces hanging were wonky. one was facing up and one faced down. also, the belt was a folded mess in the back. this fixed it though! now i can tie it right

Nobody in my dojo/academy back in the 90s could remember how to tie the black belt. The instructors we constantly correcting us. Most of us came close but couldn't quite finish it off. Now we have the help of youtube.
I remember when I took Taekwondo classes, I actually took it from a very reknown master of the field he was a 10th degree black belt who taught the Chilean army the art. He was very strict and would hit you with a practice katana if you weren't listening to him. I got to the high green before I had to quit because I moved. His teachings were so powerful that I hated every other instructor because they were subpar to his teachings and just dropped learning it.
I'm green belt too, it's a good belt I think as it marks the start of a new standard, no longer a beginner but an intermediate level martial artist who has the potential to become an advanced (red belt+) or expert (1st dan +) level student. I hope to get my blue belt by christmas that's my aim.

I always tie my belt like a tie after a normal knob. Works great, and the falling pieces are more in the middle which I prefer.

One question: Which side of the belt should be at the left and which side should be at the right? Based on last year's hanmadang, everyone tied the side with their names (also the side with the logo) on the left (all participants tied it that way if I didn't miss anyone) while this video shows that it is tied on the right. I've asked about it and the reply I've got was that the logo should be tied on the left, and some say that there's actually no correct side of tying the belt. Any comments?

In some versions of Taekwondo there are brown belts.It depends on if you are in Ata,Itf,Ita,Uta,Etc.

1. This video is from 2011 (BTS debuted in 2013)
2. BTS can stand for other things as well, such as Behind The Scenes)
3. Even if they were army why would they just randomly have bts on their uniform? Doesn’t make sense.

I got up to blue belt but stopped about 4 years ago, about to start doing it again and it's surprising how much I've forgotten hah, namely how to tie the belt.

To avoid what she did (the belt touching the floor) is better locate the center of the belt put it on your belly center and put it around. and do what she did to tie it.

I know how u feel i have one to all u have to do is put it around ur waist and tie in front and make sure the gold part is on the top color on the belt. Hope that helped u!! :)

in tae kwon do you can buy your belts
You don't buy your belts and say that that's your rank, that's now how it works. You have to earn it and then pay for the test for the master to see if you're ready for the next belt or not. You can't just walk right in and buy a black belt and then automatically quit and walk around and say that you're a black belt
