@@zga042 you specifically dont destroy the tower if they have assembled tron because if they have a spell to fetch another tron peice they get an extra mana. It can be the difference of the oppenent having to pass after getting the tron piece and playing oblivion stone
That fucking tron dude killing it with his "lucky boi" with 3 wurmcoil ugin and all those ancient stirrings and not drawing a single brick after assembling tron ... I'd be pissed but reid is just like "gg". What a treasure
Match one feels bad. Ugin's minus is such an easy way to stabilize it makes Tron such a mind-numbing deck to both watch and play against. It's such a joyless experience for everyone involved. I wish the tron lands would go the way of cloudposts and vesuvas...
Euan Macleod couldn’t agree more. Reid is one of the best and such an expert at Midrange decks. The level of card power in Tron is just stupid high. It’s disappointing to watch the Tron player recover on the back of a single Ugin or Karn.
After watching this I borrowed a friends jund deck and played in my first fnm in years. I went undefeated then chose to draw last round. Played it for fun anyway and won against UW stoneforge. THANKS REID
I wish there was a way to be more interactive vs Tron in colors other than blue. Blue can interact with Tron on a level blue is comfortable with, I don't think the other colors can in the slightest. Like, if Damping Sphere cantripped when any opponent controls a colorless nonland permanent then even that might be enough, just to find other cards and force Tron to deal with something. I think the problem is just that Tron doesn't need to deal with things, it just picks optimal lines based on the deck itself rather than the matchup.
So you mean like Field of Ruin that BG runs? Or Assassin’s Trophy? Or Fulminator Mage? Or Mwonvuli Acid-Moss? Or any other Land destruction to trip them up? Or going under them with aggro like the tribal decks do?
@@ToSGod the only one of those that is actual land destruction is fulminator, and that's too slow on the draw. Tron is inevitable and modern doesn't actually interact with all the bombs it draws. The blue cards are fun because they involve choices and interaction, but for the other colors it's basically "gosh I hope this card outright shuts them out"

Why no field if ruin, or better yet, ghost quarter, to pair with w and 6? I think the speed of quarter (low mana cost) could really hedge against tron, and any 3 color deck for that matter.
huh? I'm sure you don't think he was actually deciding what card to take there, lol... he was just taking a couple seconds to think , after seeing his opp's hand...

The tron player was probably sniping you, that turn where they didn't attack with the 3rd wurm token and you had an unknown BBE in hand was really sketchy
This won me a game against mono green tron at our local store. The lock of Wren and Ghost quarter just flat out won it for me. I dropped fulminators in favor of 3 ghost quarters in the side.
