Assassins Creed Black Flags in a nutshell... You are about to assassinate bad guy who is very important to kill because he is dangerous and/or you need to kill because he knows the location of great treasure... Oh look! A flying paper with song lyrics :D
edward- "okay now i just gotta stab this guy in the back and then.... OOOOH FLYING PIECE OF PAPER" bad guy- "oh there he is shoot him while i run away" edward- "i need to stop doing tha.... SHANTIE" one day later edward was found dead cause he dived of a building chasing a shantie, r.i.p you dumb s***
The Assassin's Creed IV sea shantys are easy 'cause you just have to stay where they started and let them flow away and eventually they'll respawn right where you're standing. I know, that takes the fun out of it but, a couple of them are a pain
I will remember that when I get around to playing Black Flag again. I bought a used copy on PS3, recently, so I'm eager to replay it... ...after my brother returns my system. Eventually.
I used to have a mod in Skyrim which replaced the Nirnroot sound with the Nyan Cat song. Then i forgot i had it It caught me off guard completely stunning me xD
Wouldn't it be interesting to play a stealth game where the controller has a microphone so if you make any real world noise it makes you heard in-game?
7 unforgivable boss actions: 1. The "unbeatable boss" (Pyramid head SH2, werewolf in Bloodborne, Abyss demon in Dark souls - even though people beat the last 2) 2. Timed/QTE segments in boss battles (looking at you MGS Revengence Senator battle) 3. Bosses weakening when recruited (Beatrix FFIX or insert JRPG here) 4. Multiple bosses at once (Ramses and Miang in Xenogears) 5. Bosses calling in backup (Gargoyles from Dark Souls) 6. Boss escape near end of fight (usually after a cutscene) - Combine Advisors Half-Life 2 ending 7. Boss healing! >:O Made especially worse when their lifebar is 10x more than yours
Trey2Da Probably no tally from now on, they stopped filming them. I guess because they only filmed to 70, and probably also because people were complaining how Rob included metal gear in features that probably didn't need metal gear which I think is ridiculous. Anyway, I wouldn't count on the tally coming back any time soon.
Basically I said Dave was the worst of the 4 and he was only good for the tally but it was just a joke. He actually stopped the tally a few weeks before that comment though.
There are only two real zones in the game, the main house and the spoiler at the end both of which are filled with backtracking and unnecessary time wasters. everywhere else is too small to really be considered a zone. Don't get me wrong the games not bad, but being chased by the dad guy is only scary the first two times.
Morginorg I would've done that if I didn't have to play through the game on normal first, I don't like it enough to play it twice. Maybe after I've forgotten most of what happens so it at least feels new.
What about those dragon egg thieves from the first spyro game you have to chase down? Holy HELL did they make 100%-ing that game a pain!! D:< On top of all those gems...
I had a Joker statue from the Arkham Origins collectors edition, but one of my cats knocked it off its shelf and broke it..a very sad day it was..(yeah not exactly the same thing as ingame collectibles but at least in game collectables don't break)
If you own both a cat and a bustable valuable on any cat-ssecible surface (all of them), you ought to invest in super glue as well. Or a glass-paned cabinet with a lock, heh. But I do know the feeling as well and am deeply sorry for your loss.
@Royalish Spyro 1 did have dragon eggs. The thieves you had to chase often carried them and were required for 100% completion and unlocking some homeworlds. Although they were much smaller and more pink than their Spyro 3 incarnations.
Oh god the Nirnroot quest in Oblivion, 100 of them! 100! They don't respawn and cant be bought, if you're playing on console and sold more than about 21 of them, that quest was unfinishable :/
The calcified fragments and SIVA fragments from Destiny were by far the most addictive things to me that i had to collect. It was made worse by the fact that stubbornness refused to let me google the exact locations, instead i forced myself to find them the old-fashioned way
This was the greatest friday feature I've ever seen. I often enjoy them, but rarely laugh out loud. After Delsin had his 30 seconds this week, I thought there's no way he can top this, that was funny as hell. But when the giant bobblehead suddenly appeared, i was in stitches. Well done!
Oh I remember doing those Kerotan frogs on the PS2. My favorite MGS game. The PS2 version of MGS 3 also had a ridiculous Ape escape mini game in it. Which I played a lot. Too bad its missing from the HD version.
This is the only reason im subscribed to this channel, i really wish they did it more often than just on Friday. Just twice a week maybe because its so annoying waiting, and i often forget about them until i get excited when i see it in my subscriptions section. Im serious when i say this; i could write a script for this more than once a week because i have a hobby writing short stories or poems.
Perfect timing Rob, currently collecting those damn frogs in order to get a Platinum on MGS3.^^ Already looking forward to your next Friday Feature. :)
Don't you dare to write off Delsin Rodent, he's the reason why I watch Friday Features (don't worry Rob, you're a close second, but I'm an animal lover *hugs Delsin*)! Much love to that little guy (and Rob) :D
I only have a PS3 and a Vita so I skip through many portions of these videos so as not to spoil PS4 games I plan on playing in the future. With that said, I absolutely love your videos and have still blown through probably 40+ of them since I discovered this channel during the past week. Incredibly entertaining stuff, thank you for the content.
On Nirnroot, at least in Oblivion and Skyrim there are quests that call on you to collect it, but aside from using it in alchemy, it's even more annoying when you still hear it humming or see it glowing in The Elder Scrolls Online, as to my knowledge, doesn't have any quests that call for you to collect it, but it's positively everywhere in the game! :) .
isn't there only 100 total? plus like 10 Templars or something? I remember some of the flags being really difficult to get, but the majority of them you basically could just passively get just by running through the cities. I'm actually replaying AC the past couple days and it seemed like every rooftop i climb on and run across, i collect a flag. lol
lol the Nirnroot section was freaking perfect. It definitely was an Oblivion quest, and because of that very quest, I can't help but collect them. Also to get that damn noise to stop!!!
I actually haven't played FF XV yet so I don't know if there are collectibles. I was just poking fun at Rob because he said that he would be putting it in all of his Friday features but it wasn't in this one.
There are some ridiculously hard to find treasure maps in XV. I found all feathers in AC2 by myself, but finding those treasure maps... even I couldn't bother looking for all of them without looking it up on the internet lol
Rob! Awesome video as always. Can I ask what kind of camera & lighting setup you use? I've always liked the 'look' of your videos, and am trying to achieve something similar. Also, Whipped Butter 2 never gets stale.
8. your souls in dark souls, almost feels like there is an infinite amount of them and you always get a feeling of deja vu when you find one not to mention they are scattered every from ledges to in front of boss gates quite the unusual collectible isn't it?
Riddler Trophies in every Batman Arkham game after Asylum XOF patches in Ground Zeroes Red Rings in Sonic Unleashed & Sonic Generations Hidden Packages in the GTA games ( especially GTAIV's freaking pigeons.... ) non-Playstation: the figurines for the figurine gallery in Zelda: The Wind Waker ( you need to photograph every person & every enemy in the game using the Pictobox DX, which can only save 3 at a time, and deliver the photos to the gallery owner ) everything for the Collectopedia in the Xenoblade Chronicles games toys to life figures...they're real collectibles rather than in-game ones, but man they're a bitch to collect
I found all crimson Nirnroots in Blackreach... after the game chrashed a gazillion time in blackreach... I dont care if i got em once! I need to find them all when i make a new character in skyrim... Considering i have made around 300 new character...SEND HELP!
I found all the Kerotan frogs 3 times. The initial Snake Eater release, then Snake Eater Subsistence and then again for the HD collection. Stealth camo is a must have, plus it's easier shooting plastic frogs than doing a perfect stealth no alerts run for the camo.
lol, odd, but it was a really good game. It's my personal favorite Assassin's Creed. It took the ship combat of Sid Meier's Pirates! and put it in a more realistic (looking) setting. Beautiful. The story was a nice twist, too.
The Wenja Stones from FarCry Primal. Having to find them in dark caves, fight off predators and enemy tribes to grab them, and not fall to my death after climbing up the tallest mountain or climbing down the deepest crevice is something that is certainly life-risking.
#301club I made it! These friday features are a great way to start the weekend and sometimes it gives me ideas for what to do while the weekend lasts And nice to see that Rob noticed that I some time ago commented that we didn't see Delsin so much anymore.
What's the first thing I do when I come home every Friday evening? Watch Rob shoehorn MGS and FF and Ni No Kuni into yet another Friday Feature. And I just love it!
Im not big on collectibles in games but yeah i love collecting the treasures in the uncharted series. I never get tired of searching for something that shines and sparkles from a distance.
Same here mate. I really don't get their apeal. The only time I actually go out of my way for one are in games like Warframe for example where you can get very rare weapons which if you are lucky are going to apear again in 2 years.
Yeah, Grim Reaper. I'm not a collective type in most games, especially if collectibles offer nothing but an ego stroke. Make my character(s) into gods and/or goddesses? Oh heck yeah! I'll be hunting for hours or longer per collectible.
Shanties, *insert curse word here*! I hated those... until I figured out they can be picked up exactly when they respawn so all you needed to do was get to there spawn point and wait. So much easier.
I had a difficult time collecting the shanties until I learned they all respawned where you initially found them. If you wait on the spot a shantie spawns for a minute or two after it disappears, it will respawn in that same spot and you'll automatically collect it.
Artifacts in Uncharted series, Flags in Assassin's Creed 1 & 2 {Brotherhood}, Feathers in Assassin's Creed 2, Stones of Barenziah "No Stone Unturned" Thieves Guild in Skyrim, Frog Catching and Chocobo Treasure Hunting in Final Fantasy 9, Rune Collecting in Dishonored Series.
What about anything in dragon age inquisition? There are: 29 bottles, 134 landmarks, 60 pieces of mosaics, 126 shards (that you need to find with a minigame before you can collect them), 21 songs, and any kind of customization of your keep.
In Oblivion they were kind of a collectible, needed 100 of them for some quest I never finished. In Skyrim they're there for lore or continuity, I guess. There's a quest to collect 100 red nirnroots in it, but again, I've never completed it.
One trip through Skyrim I found a Nirnroot, crouched down, and sat there listening to its haunting tune for about 10 minutes. I WAS answering some texts, but it was nice in the background.
Assassins Creed Black Flags in a nutshell...
You are about to assassinate bad guy who is very important to kill because he is dangerous and/or you need to kill because he knows the location of great treasure...
Oh look!
A flying paper with song lyrics :D

bad guy- "oh there he is shoot him while i run away"
edward- "i need to stop doing tha.... SHANTIE"
one day later edward was found dead cause he dived of a building chasing a shantie, r.i.p you dumb s***
To be honest the shanties are the second worst to those things "forgot what they where named" to get 100% conection or what ever on every location.
Grim Reaper yea and don't forget feathers from assassin creed 2
Same thing can be said with couriers. Sometimes i'd just shoot them instead of just tackling them.
Skaan Ze Duck out
The Assassin's Creed IV sea shantys are easy 'cause you just have to stay where they started and let them flow away and eventually they'll respawn right where you're standing. I know, that takes the fun out of it but, a couple of them are a pain
Clever
GrahfMetal Genius
I will remember that when I get around to playing Black Flag again. I bought a used copy on PS3, recently, so I'm eager to replay it...
...after my brother returns my system. Eventually.
OMG! lol
That's what I did with the last few.
I used to have a mod in Skyrim which replaced the Nirnroot sound with the Nyan Cat song.
Then i forgot i had it
It caught me off guard completely stunning me xD
Batman Arkham Knight not on the list? The sheer number of riddler trophies pissed me off.
Gta4 just as bad kill 100 flying rats .U kill 1 and get wanted everytime
It was doable though. And most of them pretty easy.
Agreed.
J M what I thought when I saw the video
AC Rogue... 200 animus fragments...
Nirnroot is noting compared to the hunt for stones of Barenziah in Skyrim
Nodar Pkhaladze I still haven't found all those
You can try UESP wiki. It has useful guides for these sort of things
+sean Hawk there's a mod which gives you quest markers for them on PS4
quinyc1 Ho dayum I need that
Nodar Pkhaladze make sure you find the one in the Thalmor Embassy or you are doomed.
Wouldn't it be interesting to play a stealth game where the controller has a microphone so if you make any real world noise it makes you heard in-game?
Schizoid it won't affect me cause I always make sure my environment is quiet when playing stealth games, lol
Schizoid Alien isolation bud
There's a mode that does that in Alien:Isolation.
Schizoid yea lol that would be funny if u farted
Schizoid alien isolation already have completed your wish...
You're just running along, doing a quest, kinda important. You see a Nirnroot in the distance; everyone loses their minds!
Dark Souls: Embers
Assassins Creed 2: F***ing Feathers
Batman Arkham Series: Riddler Trophies
Ratchet & Clank: Gold Bolts
I'm so glad this series is still alive and active. thanks Dave and delsin and the others.
I love Friday features!
7 unforgivable boss actions:
1. The "unbeatable boss" (Pyramid head SH2, werewolf in Bloodborne, Abyss demon in Dark souls - even though people beat the last 2)
2. Timed/QTE segments in boss battles (looking at you MGS Revengence Senator battle)
3. Bosses weakening when recruited (Beatrix FFIX or insert JRPG here)
4. Multiple bosses at once (Ramses and Miang in Xenogears)
5. Bosses calling in backup (Gargoyles from Dark Souls)
6. Boss escape near end of fight (usually after a cutscene) - Combine Advisors Half-Life 2 ending
7. Boss healing! >:O Made especially worse when their lifebar is 10x more than yours
No MGS tally this episode?
Trey2Da Probably no tally from now on, they stopped filming them. I guess because they only filmed to 70, and probably also because people were complaining how Rob included metal gear in features that probably didn't need metal gear which I think is ridiculous. Anyway, I wouldn't count on the tally coming back any time soon.
Idtelos link to video please?
Idtelos that was my comment lol.
Idtelos I didn't hear about that. When was this? can you give a link?
Basically I said Dave was the worst of the 4 and he was only good for the tally but it was just a joke. He actually stopped the tally a few weeks before that comment though.
Rob, please don't write out Delsin.
What about Playstation trophies? I know I've risked my job for them before.
"im an animal lover"
* sneering * "you've had your 30 seconds this week!"
"You've had your thirty seconds!" This made me laugh out loud. very well done
He may be an animal lover but definitely not a puppet lover
I have never played RE7 but why does every RUclips gaming channel use the same 3 clips to portray it...makes the game look tiny
Avoiding spoilers?
Bruce Whitaker yea IKR
There are only two real zones in the game, the main house and the spoiler at the end both of which are filled with backtracking and unnecessary time wasters. everywhere else is too small to really be considered a zone. Don't get me wrong the games not bad, but being chased by the dad guy is only scary the first two times.
Malcherath unless you play on madhouse
That's the way the game needs to be played, that's truly unnerving.
Throttle Kitty I loved chasing the thieves in all the Spyro games
Truly a fun challenge
I had a Joker statue from the Arkham Origins collectors edition, but one of my cats knocked it off its shelf and broke it..a very sad day it was..(yeah not exactly the same thing as ingame collectibles but at least in game collectables don't break)
Videogameplayer15 Sorry to hear that. Did you take your cat to the vet in the "pet carrier 2000" as well?
Videogameplayer15 my condolences towards your Joker statue… and your cat
Haha no, he's lucky he has such an adorable face^^; at least Arno and Link are okay^^
If you own both a cat and a bustable valuable on any cat-ssecible surface (all of them), you ought to invest in super glue as well. Or a glass-paned cabinet with a lock, heh.
But I do know the feeling as well and am deeply sorry for your loss.
Videogameplayer15 I never take anything out of Collectors Edition minus the game and artbook, the Statues stays in the box.
Spyro 1 dragon eggs!
Lizzie nah nah na nah nah
I thought the eggs were in spyro 3. Damn, never finished it... bothers me until this day
No one other than the legend himself...thanks for clarifying Mr.The Dragon!
@Royalish Spyro 1 did have dragon eggs. The thieves you had to chase often carried them and were required for 100% completion and unlocking some homeworlds. Although they were much smaller and more pink than their Spyro 3 incarnations.
Spyro the Dragon I liked the crackling noise when you saved the dragons from being statues.
Oh god the Nirnroot quest in Oblivion, 100 of them! 100! They don't respawn and cant be bought, if you're playing on console and sold more than about 21 of them, that quest was unfinishable :/

donwarrior77 Oh yeah that one was a secret mini game. This is the stuff that makes you love MGS. Can't wait for Death Stranding.
Hugo Stiglitz Mm oh ya
Wh-what? Are you telling me the Rotten Glitter Fish of Immortality are fake?! NOOOOOOOOOOO!!! My life is a lie!
+Connor Tyler No! No, keep collecting them -Rob
Can we have a sub-plot one of these days of Delsin and That Parrot competing for the position of Rob's Sidekick?
Don't write Delsin out of the Friday feature!!! I love him 😍😭
You know, I'm not even a gamer. I just love listening to Rob. Oh, Rob.
"Yo ho ho and a bottle of Dr Pepper."
Favourite quote of the week.
Just got the plat trophy for Horizon Zero Dawn, felt good man.
Much love to that little guy (and Rob) :D

wow! this friday feature was even funnier than the others, goof job playstation access!
*good

I'm actually replaying AC the past couple days and it seemed like every rooftop i climb on and run across, i collect a flag. lol
I tried to collect all the Jerusalem flags, but I only got 98. Same thing with the feathers on AC II.
Theres hundred each city and in the moantains (i now this is is late)
Robs Friday feature is legitimately one of the best bits on RUclips. Well done Rob!
But u guys missed the mgs tally board this time
looks like we FINALLY caught rob thinking about something.
"Trust me to get stuck in Rob "turn-based" Pearson"
😂
"Don't worry she's alive" :O
Lol
lol the Nirnroot section was freaking perfect. It definitely was an Oblivion quest, and because of that very quest, I can't help but collect them. Also to get that damn noise to stop!!!
Fable 3's gnomes? they were awesome, insulting you until you destroy them.
Rotem Sharvit Those were so satisfying to kill.
Your mother!
The gnomes were also in Fable 2. It was fun killing them because they always called you names and insulted you.
ahhhh the shanties, what wonderful little floating pieces of paper that made me cry trying to collect them all
Lol it's ok friend you'll get em next time! 😂
The Nirnroot thing has stuck with me since Oblivion too
"You've had your 30 seconds this week" was my favorite lol
This was a really great video!
Hi Rob! Just wanted to say thanks for your skits and sense of humor! it's gotten me thru some rough patches!
What about the playboy magazines in the Mafia games? :D
What about the treasures in the Uncharted games? It took me like four play throughs to find them all in Uncharted 2
I'd be risking my life for one of those ACCESS Dualshock 4 Stickers...seriously.
WHERE CAN I GET ONE FROM?
I think I had one a while ago from a sheet of different ones with official playstation magazine, I think?
Can we all appreciate that this video didn't have the same 7 games as last week?
Good work Rob!
Where's Final Fantasy XV this week Rob? You said it'd be in every Friday feature.
UnableTexas862 Are there collectibles in ffxv? I wanna know since I platinum it before I knew it. I'll gladly go back to do them, so tell me please!
I actually haven't played FF XV yet so I don't know if there are collectibles. I was just poking fun at Rob because he said that he would be putting it in all of his Friday features but it wasn't in this one.
UnableTexas862 ohhhh, got it.
no collectibles for ff15 platinum
There are some ridiculously hard to find treasure maps in XV.
I found all feathers in AC2 by myself, but finding those treasure maps... even I couldn't bother looking for all of them without looking it up on the internet lol
Good work here. Delsin escapades, metal flower surprise, hilarious Skyrim bit and Rob trying to catch paper in middair.
What about The last of us firefly pendants? One of which is literally inside a bloater :D
Rob just has this way of speaking that gets me hooked. I love it!
Ummmm......Riddler trophies?????? If the AC4 sea shanties are on this list the Riddler trophies definitely should be.
Crist, I don't even have a PlayStation. Xbox through and through. But this makes me laugh all the time. Well done guys.
I am going to report you Rob. Animal abuse is not okay.
Rob! Awesome video as always. Can I ask what kind of camera & lighting setup you use? I've always liked the 'look' of your videos, and am trying to achieve something similar. Also, Whipped Butter 2 never gets stale.
i knew frogs would make this list
Friday feature idea for you Rob, 7 WORST animal companions in games. Keep them coming, my reminder that the weekend is almost here!
Thanks Rob. Now I'm scared of vault boy.
also I only collected the nirn roots in skyrim because they made a really annoying chimme sound.
8.
your souls in dark souls, almost feels like there is an infinite amount of them and you always get a feeling of deja vu when you find one
not to mention they are scattered every from ledges to in front of boss gates
quite the unusual collectible isn't it?
Riddler Trophies in every Batman Arkham game after Asylum
XOF patches in Ground Zeroes
Red Rings in Sonic Unleashed & Sonic Generations
Hidden Packages in the GTA games ( especially GTAIV's freaking pigeons.... )
non-Playstation:
the figurines for the figurine gallery in Zelda: The Wind Waker ( you need to photograph every person & every enemy in the game using the Pictobox DX, which can only save 3 at a time, and deliver the photos to the gallery owner )
everything for the Collectopedia in the Xenoblade Chronicles games
toys to life figures...they're real collectibles rather than in-game ones, but man they're a bitch to collect
newageBoundhippie yea-Riddler trophies
Rob is class, keep up the Friday features lads!
Did the Witcher games have any collectibles?
Harry LEVI no
Gwent Cards. They had a purpose, that being using them to play Gwent, but there was a quest to collect them all in The Witcher 3.
Witcher 3 is good
There are at least easter eggs. Like Witcher 2 had a hay cart with a guy dressed as an Assassin's Creed assassin lying dead next to it.
Another awesome video. Thanks to all of you at Playstation Access.
Stealth camo is a must have, plus it's easier shooting plastic frogs than doing a perfect stealth no alerts run for the camo.
nirnroot? let me tell you about a quest called No Stone Unturned..
Did Rob just give us a special quest to rescue Delsin? Challenge...accepted!
Worst collectable in gaming ever: Korok Seeds in LoZ: BoTW, 900 total
Thomas Johnson Which game?
legend of Zelda breath of the wild
Oh
I have no idea what this channel actually makes videos about other than this series.
black flag is the only game that I've nearly cried at i don't know why it wasn't that sad i think i was just sad that it was over
lol, odd, but it was a really good game. It's my personal favorite Assassin's Creed. It took the ship combat of Sid Meier's Pirates! and put it in a more realistic (looking) setting. Beautiful.
The story was a nice twist, too.
Bruno Standen same
Bruno Standen Try playing Demon's Souls
Is it bad that I think assassin creed 3 is my favorite assassin creed game
Buster James no not at all
Wooooo There it is. I was waiting for my Friday feature. Thanks guys 😎 you rock!
the Stones of Barenziah from skyrim
The Wenja Stones from FarCry Primal. Having to find them in dark caves, fight off predators and enemy tribes to grab them, and not fall to my death after climbing up the tallest mountain or climbing down the deepest crevice is something that is certainly life-risking.
What about witcher 3 gwent cards?
Rob freaking out with the Big bobble head......Made....my....day LOL
GTA 4 pigeons
#301club I made it! These friday features are a great way to start the weekend and sometimes it gives me ideas for what to do while the weekend lasts
And nice to see that Rob noticed that I some time ago commented that we didn't see Delsin so much anymore.
7 checkpoints that took forever to get to or 7 games that made our eyes watery
What's the first thing I do when I come home every Friday evening? Watch Rob shoehorn MGS and FF and Ni No Kuni into yet another Friday Feature. And I just love it!
The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt "?" marks on the map. just too many
Im not big on collectibles in games but yeah i love collecting the treasures in the uncharted series. I never get tired of searching for something that shines and sparkles from a distance.
Collectibles = cancer. I don't even bother with them unless they give you something in return like the upgrade points in Doom.
Tyrant yea ikr-thought i was the only 1
Tyrant I mean, I wasn't aware collectibles killed people.
This is the only reason why I bother with the Bobbleheads in Fallout 4, Tyrant, at all.

Shanties, *insert curse word here*! I hated those... until I figured out they can be picked up exactly when they respawn so all you needed to do was get to there spawn point and wait. So much easier.
i thought the title ment IRL collectibles. as in people were fighting to get a special edition collectible.
Thank god it's friday and Rob is here
u forgot the Crystal lisards from dark souls and bloodborne.
Ragada Blaze and the flowers from skyrim are?
Nightfall Alicorn oh i Will tell u:)
Demon's Souls
daniel antonsen wat bout them
Hated those things in Dark Souls, though I started to really enjoy killing the pesky things.
I had a difficult time collecting the shanties until I learned they all respawned where you initially found them. If you wait on the spot a shantie spawns for a minute or two after it disappears, it will respawn in that same spot and you'll automatically collect it.

Nirnroots are not collectibles
In Oblivion they were kind of a collectible, needed 100 of them for some quest I never finished. In Skyrim they're there for lore or continuity, I guess. There's a quest to collect 100 red nirnroots in it, but again, I've never completed it.
One trip through Skyrim I found a Nirnroot, crouched down, and sat there listening to its haunting tune for about 10 minutes. I WAS answering some texts, but it was nice in the background.
