Technically, Hersheypark is a family owned park because it is owned by the Hershey Trust Fund, not the Hershey Company. They obviously heavily partner because the Hershey family that controls the trust fund still has a lot of stock in the chocolate company and Milton Hershey built the park specifically for his factory workers. But it has never belonged to the chocolate company and belongs entirely to the family trust fund.
This was an original idea for a video! Wildcat’s Revenge and Skyrush are the only roller coasters I’ve ridden from independent owned parks and of course they both ride amazing. Cannibal is definitely on my “want to ride” list since I’d love to experience a roller coaster with an elevator. Personally I see both fun and thrilling experiences on steel and wooden coasters, but have a slight preference for steel ones.
I do agree with everything you said about Aftershock. Even though I haven't been to Silverwood yet, my home Six Flags park used to have a Giant Inverted Boomerang and it was pretty forceful. The only thing that sucked about it is that is was located in the back section of the park and located right next to the least popular roller coaster they had at the time.
Based GaleForce and Hades takes. I love how you have so many good things to say about each coaster. I also love ArieForce so much. Also, I am still confused as to why Fun Spot and IB parks are/would be included. And I feel like this list deserves to be bigger lol
Not done to many independ ones in the states but ravine flyer defently went to my favorite woody's list. Planing this year is to get your othe parks axcept for herhey and the other one on the east coast (those are for next year). Not really the biggest woody fan but i i'm lokking forward to do holiday world twice this year, did the european namesake holiday park yestersay again and expedition Ge force is still extremly nice. O and i know you are coaster guy but i would love a top 15 (or top whatever) on the parks to. I do love coasters but i enjoy an overall park experience even better.
I haven't been on GaleForce but I have been on the other 14 on your list. I have been to Indiana Beach. Here is my Top 20: 1. Arie Force One (FSA) 2. SkyRush (Hershey) 3. Voyage (Holiday World) 4. Wildcat's Revenge (Hershey) 5. Cannibal (Lagoon) 6. Stunt Pilot (Silverwood) 7. Phoenix (Knoebels) 8. Candymonium (Hershey) 9. Storm Runner (Hershey) 10. Ravine Flyer II (Waldameer) 11. Tremors (Silverwood) 12. Rampage (Alabama Splash Adventure) 13. Thunderbird (Holiday World) 14. Cornball Express (Indiana Beach) 15. Aftershock (Silverwood) 16. Raven (Holiday World) 17. Boardwalk Bullet (Kemah) 18. Legend (Holiday World) 19. Giant Dipper (Santa Cruz) 20. Swamp Fox (Family Kingdom) Hades 360 ran a little too rough in my visit. I have coasters like Zeus and Twister at Knoebels over it.
Great video and great list! I really enjoyed watching this! The top 5 were all great! I guess Indiana Beach is prob one of the most main parks in the country you have not been to as youve been to so many. You never got to go to Alberta, Canada to ride Mindbender when it was open as well though.
IMO Time Traveler should be up there. "Herschend" is too small to be anything but independent. No meal plans, corporate stuff, intellectual property, corporate atmosphere etc.
I’d personally take Stunt Fall, a Giant Inverted boomerang I have ridden (although that is at an overseas chain park), over Gale Force any day. I found it rough both before and after the retrack. I’m happy S&S only did the one. Sure, the train design is wonky, but the pure intensity makes it feel like a good choice smaller parks that didn’t get the original boomerang (or Invertigo in the case of Bagatelle in France) should have got, but the ones Six Flags purchased (including Goliath, Aftershock, and Stunt Fall-since Parque Warner was initially operated by Six Flags) did have their issues at the start, which led Silverwood to getting Aftershock in the first place. They got Vekoma to revert the ride to factory settings and you don’t here much about (probably because it’s in the middle of nowhere, passed by an Amtrak train in the middle of the night without stopping, but I digress)
I've been waiting for another CoasterDash video! Nice work. I personally wouldn't include anything from the fun spot chain on this list because they're an amusement park chain? Why would you include them in here?
Cannibalism is by far my favorite coast I’ve ridden (I freely acknowledge that that is a limited list). The elevator lift in the dark, the insane first drop, and the Lagoon roll make for an incredible coaster. And with the elevator lift in mind, I think a best coaster lift list might be interesting. There’s a lot of variety in coaster lifts, and for many coasters, the lift sets the tone for the whole ride.
With all of the track work done to Twister, it has crept up on Phoenix at Knoebels and last year at PPP, it was actually running better. I think Twister is so underrated and could have snuck in this list. nice job though.
The best roller coaster that I've been on at an independent amusement park is Voyage at Holiday World. The length of the ride, the height, the speed, and everything it does from startbto finish make it one of the best roller coasters I've ever been on.
Thank you for watching! 🎢

“Hades 360 is ungodly rough”
I had a bit of a laugh when I heard that one

I wish there were more independent parks, they have charm and great coasters!
Absolutely! It’s worth taking a trip to Europe if you haven’t already, because most parks over there are independent :)

Boardwalk Bullet! My hometown family park. Marathoned it last month.

Voyage 5th

Nah herschend is a great theme park chain you just hate on everything.

Twister is absolutely fantastic and Knoebels does a brilliant job maintaining it. Consider it an honorable mention!
Silverwood is literally RMC's "home park".
twister not making this list has to be some sort of osha violation
Twister is definitely awesome! Consider it an honorable mention 😆
@@CoasterDash ok osha will look the other way this time haha
Are you going to do a ranking for other companies you haven't yet do like universal, disney, parques reunidos or compagnie des alpes?
I definitely would, but I feel like i’m not qualified at this time. I have to ride more coasters from those chains before I rank their lineups.
The best roller coaster that I've been on at an independent amusement park is Voyage at Holiday World. The length of the ride, the height, the speed, and everything it does from startbto finish make it one of the best roller coasters I've ever been on.
I totally agree! It’s a phenomenal experience.
wheres candymonium
But come on we can all agre phantasialand if the best independent theme park
Really depends on the person, for theming yes for coasters no.
@@NicoliRides true but value theming waaaaay to much lol
@@Tasouz haha yeah honestly I would agree in my eyes it is the best except for maybe energylandia
Why no Dollywood?? It has the worlds fastest wooden roller coaster
