      @@marsyoutubewatch tutorials and honestly nows a great time to do it because if you mess it up, it’s summer and you can wear a hat. @@marsyoutube I've been cutting my own hair for a couple years now and my top 2 pieces of advice are first and most importantly, take your time. The first time I really cut my hair, it took me about 3 hours(?) might have been slightly less and my hair had been really long beforehand, but speed comes with time and practice. Secondly, make sure your scissors are sharp! If you can buy hair scissors, do (mine work just fine and were about 10 USD combined for a normal pair and a pair of thinning shears) and also don't be afraid of the clippers if the style you're going for has a shaved section, they freak me out because of how loud they are lol

    I used a picture of Noah at a hairdressers once and they gave me an ATROCIOUS trim, I then showed that same picture of Noah to my friend and they gave me a great cut. It all depends on the whose cutting your hair, if they actually give you what you want, and the type of hair you have, I have quite thick hair so it worked👍

    I'm gonna be real, passing pre-T as a trans man is really hard. If you do pass, you'll most likely be seen as a really young boy. I think passing tips are generally good, but most people won't really pass even with them. I know I didn't. I only started passing 100% after 7-8 months on T. For some guys it takes longer.
    I think the things that will help you pass the most above all else are binding and your voice. Once your voice drops, you'll pretty much be at a point in your transition where even if you don't pass physically, once you speak, people will gender you properly.

    my #1 tip for passing is to stop caring about passing because it literally rots your brain. absolute brainworms you obsess over the most ridiculous things. just be you and stop caring about what other people think. you are you no matter what other people think. i promise, you feel way better and less dysphoric when you just stop caring

    • @noaw418
      @noaw418 2 месяца назад +4

      Agree. Also, in a funny/sad twisted way, getting over excessive self-consciousness and gaining confidence in just living and being yourself will most likely help you pass a lot more often. A lot of people will generally just accept whatever you tell them about yourself at face value and not think very deeply about it.

      It really touched me when you said it was cool. So Ty! 🌱🪲🐛

      1. Do you need to have dysphoria to use they/them?
      2. Can you use they/them if you feel like it sounds cooler, and better fitting for you?
      - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
      I am very cool with criticisms. Like, can you just use them cause they sound better/cooler? Or is there some certain, specific, like reason why you need or use them? Like dysphoria?
      I do not experience dysphoria, and have been questioning They/Them for awhile, but I am unsure.

    As someone who's genderfluid, passing as a man is so hard, but I've found it doesnt matter how long your hair is, as long as its a stereotypically "masculine". And keep in mind, a lot of men with long hair get mistaken for women. But if you actually wanna have fun with your style, it's difficult because I love wearing colorful outfits and steretypical cis men, especially in communities where "gay=bad", dont wear colorful clothes. So its really also about being in a more welcoming community. Goodluck though, I also havent mastered passing.

Like guys could own a van with a rainbow unicorn or flowers on it. But early two thousands was so very... "Here's all the things that are girl things, here are the boy things, and if you don't conform, your peers will make your life a living hell." ... Honestly, I love Noah so much for making these videos. I grew up in a very homophobic, transphobic, religious community, and although I never fully agreed with the ideology, some times words cut deep, and you form biases without even realizing it. I’m gay, and I’m in the process of unteaching myself all the negative things I was constantly told as a kid. In the same way, I’ve been able to understand so much more about the “trans experience” from watching Noah’s videos, and it feels so cool to be in such a warm, welcoming community. Love your content Noah, you never fail to make me smile, keep on doing what you’re doing man :)

    Dysphoria sucks ass, I feel you, but please don’t go TOO hard on trying to pass cause that can at a certain point stress u so much that it becomes unhealthy for ur body to :’3 like with binding, try having breaks, as had been suggested, try finding people where passing doesn’t matter
    But I know saying this stuff is WAYYYY easier then actually doing it, so just do ur best and that’s enough :3

    its so weird seeing posts like these pop up on my tiktok because now that ive been on testosterone for over a year and don't get misgendered at all or have the amount of dysphoria i used to, it feels like a whole other world. like, 14 year old me would be devouring the trans tips posts but now it just feels weird. maybe its also an age thing, i am almost 20, after all. another thing, people need to use references of hair types similar to theirs! the reason that person didn't get what they were looking for is partly because their hair has substantially less of a curl pattern. curl patterns and hair textures have a big role in whether or not a specific cut or style will look good on you

  • @CiCodiCadno
    @CiCodiCadno 2 месяца назад +5

    Anyway if anyone sees this, here's my tip:
    GO TO A BARBER IF YOU WANT SHORT HAIR. For the love of god do NOT go to a salon or other hairdresser that only deals with women's hair - they won't cut your hair right not because they're transphobic, but because they have no practice doing men's cuts. A barber will do the exact cut you want, with less of the chat, and often for cheaper.

    The whole voice thing: I'm an older trans, and I've had people on the phone ask me where my "husband" is, while getting my name right. I do have voice dysphoria and have been trying my best to not squeak. After transition (I'm 47, started when I was in my early 30's) and think that it's kind of fun to say "I'm a guy, not the wife" over the phone and listen to them struggle. I know it's not nice to them, but asking me where my husband is?? I'm not even married 🤷

    Idk if this is kind of tmi, but for me I think v-necks actually help. Of course this doesn't work for everyone, but if you have a smaller or wider-set chest (basically if you don't have a lot of cleavage in the center of your chest) sometimes wearing a low v-neck or a button up with only the bottom buttons buttoned is really masc. Especially if you have access to tape it shows off the center of your chest which is more flat. If you add an open jacket on top it really distracts from your figure and you'll only really see that flat part of your chest. Using tape instead of a binder if you have a deep v-neck makes the flat chest illusion more believable. I hope this helps!

I like messing around with them so I just say shit like “I identify as Michael Jackson and my pronouns ar heeee/heeeeeee’ and stuff like that. One time I said to this year 7 ‘ I identify as water. No not gender fluid water as in the liquid ‘ thin a month ago the same guy was sitting with his mates and one asks ‘is that a boy or a girl’ he just said ‘they identify as water the liquid’ and I was trying soo hard not to die 😂😂😂😂

    Best advice i could give anyone with dysphoria starting transitioning- be yourself...regardless of the physical changing....YOU WILL ALWAYS PASS. If your a guy internally or a woman internally (depending on your dysphoria)....JUST BE YOURSELF. Its how you act. Thats what makes you pass to everyone else. BE YOU.💙 added: if you think "how do i act as a guy or woman outwardly"....question your dysphoria. Being your true inner self outwardly will validate you ALWAYS. That simple.
