That is really a beautiful collection of bourbons. I have not had any of them but will certainly keep my eyes open when at a bourbon bar to try a pour of any of these. Great series and I can't wait to see the blind on Friday. CHEERS!!

It’s great to see so many Craft distillers making epic whiskey. But Just when you thought it was tough enough to acquire a legacy distiller limited release, we now have to chase even more limited, limited releases. Cheers to you and all who are so lucky to get some.
Every craft distillery has limited/distillery only releases. That has always been true. It doesn't mean that people are lining up to get them. They just don't have the production or distribution to get product to people nationwide. Calling these "allocated" is honestly kind of a joke.
The way you feel about the Still Austin is the same way I feel about Liberty Pole Spirits Peated Bourbon finished in Orange Curaçao casks and the Spirits of French Lick Lost River 6.5 year 7 grain bourbon distillery exclusive single barrels. Incredible gems coming from craft whiskey this year.

Got a few allocated at msrp this year. Got me a bakers 13 year single barrel, got a knob Creek 18, and got the 4R LE for 2022.
Had a chance to get in line for a Michters 10 year drop, but decided to get hammered the night before and woke up at noon to everything good gone. Oh well.
That still Austin is phenomenal. I’m trying to savor the pours hopefully they release it again
We all would love to try any of these.... The Still Austin came out of left field, but sounds yummy.... Nice job guys.... I'll try to be here for the live stream on Friday.... It will be my 62nd birthday.

I would say EC and Larceny Barrel Proof products are marginally allocated. I wish I had the 13th Colony (had it in the cart and it was sold out). I love the Michter's 10 bourbon and is my #1. Obviously, I don't have every bottle on the planet. I have the Cellar Aged but haven't opened it yet. Just got it a few weeks ago for $152. I need to get some Still Austin bottles. I love EHTBP and that would probably make my top 5. So many bottles that I need to open. Cheers!
The Cellar Aged is the only one I’ve tasted (but couldn’t land a bottle). My sample was terrific. 🥃
Sounds like that Still Austin oated bourbon is going to be one of those bourbons that as soon as you taste it, you're going to know exactly what it is in a blind. Great video as always guys!

Never heard of the Buckner’s. I did manage to get the Michter’s, MM and several C923. Never got my hands on the 13th Colony. Your 1st place certainly is a surprise!

I'm not surprised by 13th Colony given all the reviewers have nothing but glowing things to say.

Not surprised to see Makers Cellar Age... same as 13th Colony ... so many positive (glowing) reviews; and given their great non-allocated releases lately, not at all surprising.
I was glad to see the OCD#5 on the non-allocated list but given the small distribution area that Glenns Creek has I'd give them a special mention on this list as well.

I have a friend who’s going to get me the still Austin oated and I’m so excited to try it.
I need to do a blind of all my top bourbons because without a blind, C923 hits high, but its hitting lower for others despite the hype

I take more screen shots of the line up of all your guys picks and hit the liquor store. I built me a mirror liquor cabinet cause of SLB picks. Not all of them but about 20 bottles. My wife just bought me a small bar to serve her with some shots. LOL
Still Austin puts out some phenomenal stuff! All of their distillery reserve series releases are always great. I’m really lucky to live in Austin not far from the distillery.

Hot damn the M10 is the only one I was able to get & it's electric - never been a Maker's fan at all but it's probably high time I give them another try - been hearing good things about them recently.

Controversial opinion; the cellar aged was not great to me. Good sure but didn't meet the level of hype which was way too much.
What letter is in the bottle number of the Michter’s? I’ve tasted a few different ones and A is by far the best.
Buckner is definitely exploding onto the scene. If you see their 10 year grab a bottle it's very very good.

It sucks that some of us try just as hard as most, if not harder, to hunt bottles and yet we will never see or experience any of the stuff people talk about in videos. But, here's to 2024! Cheers everyone!
Hint: don't bother, just find decent affordable bourbon and wonder what all the fuss is about. It's painless if you drink enough readily available stuff.

If it makes you feel any better, i tried a sample and was glad i disnt fork over even msrp for a bottle. I think makers cs with a little 46 to proof it down a bit wuld put you in the ballpark of profile... its really not mind bogglingly better than their other shelfers
Kurt, I need your help. I have the option to pick up the smoke wagon uncut unfiltered bourbon, or the Malted Rye or the straight Rye… tough decision! In your option what one should I snag first? I like both bourbon and rye.

The Michter’s 10 yr bourbon is being offered from $250 - $400 locally around my parts. Found the Rye for $160 and would love to find the bourbon at a reasonable price.

Bottled in Bond bourbon that uses oatmeal stout grains as part of the mash makeup. Theyve been doing it for the past 3 or 4 years. Pick one up and head to head it against that Still Austin before its gone.

What barrel is the Michter's 10? Trying to zoom in looks like a "E" in 23Exxx? Have heard some variation between barrels.
Definitely some variations…IMO A is the best 😁. I’ve tasted E & F aswell, obviously they are outstanding aswell but that A 😋
I was joking with myself that maybe SA would make the list(my favor company). Shocked to see it number 1. I just picked up a CSSB store pick that is my favorite bottle of the year. It just beat out Weller 12.
Michters 10 is $180 msrp, didn’t care for Cellar Aged I traded it away. It tasted like acetone

I have not tasted the top 4, but my tops are C923 and 13th Colony Double Oak. 😂
The MM CA is a 50/50. Buddy got a bottle and was disappointed, especially at the price. He brought it buy and my first thought was, Thank you God for not letting me get one. It's wood then a bit of bourbon flavor. MM did not age it in the cellar but took regular MM and moved it to their cellar. He also gave me a sample. I tasted it again the next day then gave it to a buddy who loved it. Another friend got a bottle and he likes it but said he won't buy it again. Too $$ for what it is. I think my stash of MM BEP is far, far better.
Michter’s 10 Year Bourbon was the best bourbon I tasted this year, except for Van Winkle 12 Year Lot B. Still Austin is my favorite TX whiskey. 🥃
You know I never liked Texas Whiskey until I tried Still Austin. So good.

My wife and I were very surprised that the Handy wasn’t head and shoulders in first place. We were also surprised that the cellar aged didn’t make our top five. C923 finished 7th for us cellar aged finished 9th

When trent pulled that bottle i could not believe it.
A number of channels are not including the C923 in their Best Of 2023 lists. I think two or three well-documented "negatives" are holding it back. (I can't speak from personal experience because it hasn't even dropped in my area yet.)
13 colony is one of the best drinks you can get made in America's Georgia Jimmy Carter comes from I live in Atlanta and I've been through that Brewery let me tell you Trenton and Kirk you need to try the rye whiskey is fantastic

I really didn't enjoy the cellar aged as much as I hoped I would. Definitely good but did not blow me away.

Project for 2024. Get a dozen bottles of something that is easily got worldwide; maybe makers/ buffalo trace? Add some special ingredients to each bottle, then see what happened after a year? Thinking whole spices, wood chips, vanilla pods, sea salt, peppercorns, dried fruit & peel? Add charcoal filtration at the end? Could suck balls, could be awesome & achievable for everyone 🧐🤷🏻 Happy New Year from bourbon desert UK . We get the garbage, need help to improve without paying $4-$500! really😢😢😢

Great show as always. I’m fairly new to bourbon. I have a quick question personally, I do not like the bitter taste at the end of some of the bourbons that I have tried not a fan of bitterness at all during your shows what terms are you using to refer to the bitterness at the end of the sip, I often hear the term oak, char, spice… is that what you’re referring to when those words/ phrases are used?…..
