This video is a heart melting perfection! 😘🙌 I know nothing about alcohol but I was watching 'Bar Rescue' episode here and the lady asked for Gimlet. They said ok .. and then 3 of these people who work at the bar freaked out because none of them knew how to make it. They put in a large glass ice and little alcohol (They don't measure nothing, just pour straight from the bottle) and filled the glass with soda water. The lady said it's the wrong drink .. so I HAD TO come here and see how it's made. 😍👍👍👍
I've just recently discovered the Gimlet after watching yet another re-run of Mad Men - and oh boy am I addicted to this now! I've not been a fan of Gin before but I'm absolutely loving it !
No idea how I ended up here, but this is my favourite cocktail and now I know how to make it and don't need to pay a gazillion bucks anytime I want one anymore :D
I had just poured myself a gimlet before switching on this video. I made a stock sugar syrup from water, granulated sugar and a little acacia honey, to which I added the grated zest and juice of a lime. I brought this to the boil, simmered it for five minutes then strained it into a jug to let it cool. Once it was cool I placed the jug into the freezer for a couple of hours until it turned into an icy slush. I then poured the lime slush into a measure of Tanqueray 43% gin from the bottle I keep in the freezer. It is utterly sumptuous.
You were such a baby 4 years ago. I am making gimlets for my coven of women friends tonight. I will be using the fresh lime cordial that I made from that video. Cheers
@@StevetheBartender_ This show that exposes horrible bars with bartenders that can't even make certain drinks, especially the gimlet. This was a great tutorial btw!
A gimlet uses lime cordial which is effectively lime juice, sugar and water, so it’s fair to call Steve’s cocktail a gimlet. A gin sour differs in that the lime juice is replaced with lemon juice. They are all delicious, my current favourite is gin, lime juice, maple syrup and egg white, and I still call it a gimlet.
I am known as being an extremely laid back big tipper. But there is one way to have me send my drink back and leave NO tip regardless of how many subsequent successful drinks I'm served: build me a gimlet using fresh lime juice instead of the original lime cordial.! i am giving this video a thumbs down and I'm unsubscribing from the channel..
I'm looking at this at 2 in the am in an attempt to make sure I dont fail my cocktail test in 7 hours. Cheers mate
I forgot about this comment. Yeah I scraped the bare minimum pass
@@Diamondmite Yooo, congratulations man
Did you pass?

Betty Draper/Francis & her famous gimlets🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you. I’ve tried several recipes and this is the best Gimlet I’ve ever made. Better than 95% of the ones that have been made for me.
Wow, thank you!

Brilliant. A video that uses mls rather than ounces! Subscribed.
Cheers!
Steve the Bartender when we making gimlet drinking can rim the glass with sugar 1st
And his measures are perfect too
Thanks sir for valuable testy information..
Cheers
Very nice. Thank you very much.

Try it with Malfy Blood orange gin . I ran out of aviation and used this out of necessity. Great twist on this taste

Job well done, thanks!
Add 20 leaves of Basil in the shaker and it makes a Basil Smash ! 🥰
That cup looks like a Barbie cup next to him 😂
luv it thanx
Nicee
Making one right now… is that the best gin for this? I’m using Hendrick’s
The squeeze of 1 lime will do?
can you stir a gimlet? Or does that turn it into something else?
You have to force those ingredients together
Lime coradial means ??
I order a gimlet the other night, they didn’t shake it and it was soooooo awful. This one looks amazing
What kind of syrup do I use?
regular simple syrup
Hi
so, a gin daiquiri?
Probably a stretch but … is anyone here after watching bar rescue?
What is bar rescue?

Lmao yea
You seriously cant taste the gin! Great video! :)
I thought you aren’t supposed to never shake gin?
Bro put your recipe in ounces
1 oz = 30 ml. I'm sure you can do the maths 👍
Good video , but your newest videos are much better. Even when you gained more than a few pounds (or kilos).
Hmmm, you could add a 1/2 shot of triple sec or grand marnier to give it an orange twist
This is a a Gin Sour, gimlet does not have simple syrup

I believe any cocktail with spirit, citrus, and sugar is a sour. A gimlet is a sour made with gin, lime, and sugar.
