    Hello doc…. I have hyperpigmentation around my eyes and above my lips due to fixed drug eruption whenever I took fluoroquinolones, doxycycline….. will it be beneficial for me to take oral tranexemic acid? I’ve tried Topical kojic acid, niacinamide….. but nothing seems to work…. I’m feeling insecure to step outside without any makeup on… can you help me out please??🥺

      There are a few treatments to reduce skin pigmentation and I enclose videos that I have done.

      Also tinted sunscreens are very important to prevent further pigmentation of the skin.

    Nice video sir.
    But many of the mentioned ingredients are not available in India

      Thanks for your kind words.
      You are right, some are not available in the UK too. We can however, order it from the US and pay extra for the postage and customs. Not sure if that is possible in India.

    Thank you. Does diet also play a part in melasma/hyperpigmentation?

    • @DiscoverDermatology
      @DiscoverDermatology  4 месяца назад

      There is no specific scientific study that confirms if diet plays a part in melasma. The use of medications like the oral contraceptive pill can contribute though.

      Any treatment for pigmentation needs to be used for at least a few months, maybe even a few years.

    In three drug combination regimen ,the flucinolone is a steroid, will it not cause steroid induced side effects like thinning of facial skin , photosensitivity and hypertrichosis?

    • @DiscoverDermatology
      @DiscoverDermatology  2 года назад

      Thats a very good point. If used carefully, the side effects tend to be minimal as it is applied only on skin that has abnormal skin. The other two components tend to reduce the potential side effects of steroids too. Thats why this particular triple regimen is used.

      @DiscoverDermatology  2 года назад

      Hi, white dots on the skin may be a condition called idiopathic guttate hypomelanosis. I have done a video on this, which may have some useful information.
