    The humic acid was a very good and vital step. The chlorosis appearing on the leaves only happened after you repotted, which means the potting mix was too dense and not enough air for the roots. The leaves started getting greener after the humic acid because as you mentioned, it improves soil structure.
    Very balanced treatment. Great job

      Thank you so much..but sir is not required actually! Hmm..we shouldn't remove the cup entirely. Just cutting the outer rim is fine. No worry, it would take sometime to recover. Till then, avoid keeping under too much direct sunlight and water only when the top soil is dry. Morning sunlight for 2-3 hours would be fine. Once it starts to grow well, you can keep under full sun. Hope that helps, thank you!

    Hello brother I have a Orange and pink hibiscus plant and both are in soil not in a pot both are not growing even they produce small leaves,even in this monsoon season where my other hibiscus plants are growing very well ,they are not grown, I am frightened to do pruning in monsoon as there is a chance of getting rot , what should I do ?

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  5 месяцев назад +3

      Honestly saying, not all Hybrid varieties do well even after they are growing directly in ground. And, they also don't grow well if they have competitor plants growing nearby them.
      It's happening with me too..I have one big tree (Golmohar), another local Hibiscus, one Hybrid Hibiscus and one Ixora in roughly around 50 square feet area. All are growing in ground. Golmohar is growing very well and it's really big now. Local Hibiscus is also doing well. Ixora is getting weaker day by day and Hybrid Hibiscus is in very bad stage. Leaves are getting smaller day-by-day and this year it produced only few blooms. So, I am thinking to move the Hybrid Hibiscus to some other place or even to a pot. Just thought to share my story about some of my plants which are growing in ground.
      I am also agree with you..it's better to leave them as it is this year. You can fertilize and prune them at the end of February. If they were grown in pot, we could have pruned them as we can control many things like - move them here and there and apply proper fertilizers etc. I hope, I have answered your question, thank you!

      @GardeningUpbeat  Год назад

      Thank you very much :-) No, I didn't and I recorded this video long back. Next year, the plant did even better.
      >> I have heard the plants dies after few months if net pot is not removed.
      No problem for plants like Hibiscus which have strong root system. Their root system can easily break the pot. I still have some other tissue cultured plants. Same with net cup and they are doing good :-) One is Hybrid Tecoma plant and soon I would share the video. If you like, you can cut the very top outer ring as that's the strongest part of those net cup.
      If it's a seedling and rootball doesn't have lots of soil, then it's better to remove the net cup. Without removing completely is also fine. We can cut vertically on one side..I did this mistake once while transplanting Gerbera seedlings. Didn't remove the cup as I was worried about hurting the plant. Later it created a big issue..

    Good journey. please help solve my hibiscus issue. Due to my upstairs neighbour feeding ants, these ants show up in my balcony and are attracted to flowering plants. Then they leave mealy bug (white powdery stuff) attack. I try avoiding ants with 2-3 measures but then two of my hibiscus succumbed to it. Now treating mealy big is easy and I did it too. But then these hibiscus never give good growth. It's been months now since mealy big solved. And yet they do not give flowers or new stems or leaves. They remain status quo. I guess they will die of in winters. Both are Desi variety. (pink and orange). I tried changing soil, giving Vermicompost, seaweed etc. Nothing seems to help.

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  Год назад +2

      Look like Sunlight issue..guessing it from your comment (upstairs, balcony etc). Well, ants don't leave Mealybugs..instead, Ants appears because of the honeydew produced by Mealybugs. If you are able to spot Ants means, your plants were under Mealybugs attack from some days back! The local Hibiscus usually grows well....but please note, growth usually slow down a bit specifically at this time of the year. It would be more slower if they are lacking of direct sunlight. I have only one Desi variety..Spider Hibiscus. It's in ground and so growing well. As remedies you can do the below things -
      1. Sunlight exposure - Min 3:30 hours at least and 6-8 hours is ideal
      2. Please avoid keeping the soil too wet for much longer. If they are in balcony and not getting too much sunlight, you can let the top soil slightly dry out before watering.
      3. Avoid feeding too frequently. We find more pest attacks like Mealybugs, Aphids if we fertilize too frequently. Natural reason..and all these pests attack mostly on the top growing part.
      4. Try using Growth promoter
      5. For local varieties, applying fertilizers once in 45-60 days is more than enough
      6. Along with growth promoter, you can also use Epsom Salt. Mix 1 tsp in 1 liter water and spray once in 7-10 days. If growing well and flowering, please avoid using it unnecessarily.
      Hope that helps..but please also note that, it's almost end of the season. If I were you, I wouldn't have think too much about them at this time. Instead, I would invest more time on Winter flowering plants and Veggies :-) All the best!

    • @manjuk1708
      @manjuk1708 Год назад

      @@GardeningUpbeat thanks so much for your extremely detailed reply. Sunlight is not a big issue since I get sun rise to 12:00 in summers and even extended hours in winters. That was the reason to chose this house for the sun. Since I am already careful of watering, and drying in between watering, I will try growth promoters. Or since these desi variety is so cheap here like fifty rupees, I might buy new ones and plant the sickling on society garden. Nature will take care of them. Thanks so much again for your inputs.

    How long does hibiscus take to grow after stem propagation? I have just one leaf since one month

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  Год назад

      Depends on many factors like - 1. Timing 2. Medium 3. Watering Schedule 4. Variety of the plants we are propagating (Hybrid usually takes more time)
      If we do everything correctly, result can be obtained within 45-60 days. Since there is one leaf from one month, I don't think your cutting hasn't produced root system properly. Or else, it would have start growing..Perhaps, you can provide more bright light (no direct sunlight though) Thank you!

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  9 месяцев назад

      Sorry for bit late reply...20-25 days is bit early..after root pruning, plant would take some more days to show some new growths. It's because, at the initial time they first produce the roots. Only after they have stronger roots, they would start growing on the top part. No worries, they would grow and during this stage, please avoid watering too frequently. Do it only when the top soil is dry. Once they start to grow new leaves and branches, you can increase watering frequency. Good luck and sir is not required actually!

    My hibiscus is doing great with leaves and growing well except it does not bloom in summer only in winter. Any ideas to reverse this process. Thanks so much. Blessings.

      Good to hear it's growing well..Look like, your winter temp is much more favorable than Summer. They don't bloom well if temp is too high..like 35+ °C [95°F]. So, in that case, we can't do many things actually..I am just guessing about the Summer temp in your place. I could be wrong too and plz let me know.

      @@GardeningUpbeat summer was hot. Temperatures are now in the 60’s during the day and low 50’s at night. I have decided to leave the plant alone until next spring. So I can prune it, fertilize it and see how it goes. Thanks for your reply. Blessings.

      @@GardeningUpbeat I’m still hoping to see at least one bloom. Temperatures are crazy. Daytime high 60’s night time low 40’s. Have a great weekend.

    Why you are not used bonemeal

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  10 месяцев назад

      As per my knowledge and experiences, only Bone meal can't revive a Hibiscus plant as they need more Potassium. If we supply only Bone meal without any other components, plants won't do well. Thank you!
