The Twin Towers are like ghosts. They'll haunt us forever and yes, it's like they're still there. When I was 5 I watched Jungle 2 Jungle in Theaters. My parents felt inspired to take me to New York and look at the Twins. I'll never forget this day. We celebrated my 7th birthday on the 107th floor. Blessed be everyone who died on that awful September day.

probably the most dead on description of how it feels when you see them pre 9-11. Its a sickening but beautiful site...but you nailed it with ghostly.

+Betzaida Pena Going to assume you guys were too young to understand life back then. During those times an attack like this was UNTHINKABLE no one ever thought that this would happen. When the planes were first reported hijacked no one believed it because it had never really happened before. A parachute sounds like a good idea now but back then no one had any idea that this would've happened. This day changed America A LOT and I mean A LOT.

Pause at 5:34... Now Close your eyes with that picture in head. take a deep breath.. And imagine yourself leaning your body forward... forward and forward until you're falling.. Falling too the end. Take the next roughly 10 seconds to take in your life and what you've accomplished. Hold your breath and imagine being unable to breathe falling at terminal velocity. open your eyes. and Accept what's happening! Accept your fate. As you hit the ground. And have your life taken from you.
I'm not a religious man. But times like this I ask you to pray.. and pray hard. For those that lost their lives on that dark dark day. Not only for America. But for Humanity.

Remember flying to New York from Ireland a year after the 9/11 incident. I went to see where they went down. To me it looked like a gigantic football pitch of a hole. It was such a horrible feeling. Felt like I was in a graveyard. Then it pissed me off to see people charging tourists 7€ for photos of the people that were falling out of the towers. As a true Irish man I went to the nearest Irish bar and drank to forget the night.

The original World Trade Center was so much better then the replacement towers. They had more floors, a higher observatory and totally set off the New York skyline. They should have rebuilt them but instead of 110 stories each make them 111.

It feels weird doesn't it. It's like they were there but they are not. They were beautiful, strong, and an American landmark it's so crazy that their gone. Imagine the Statue of Liberty being destroyed and everyone remembers where they were that day but then kids that were too young to remember or were never born don't care or realize the significance of it because they were too young. That same concept can be applied to these towers for the younger generation. New York will never be the same.

As a kid my dad took me there. Took
The subway and then went to the top floor and all over the building. Somehow he made it out that day I have no idea how till this day but I'm sure glad he did. He just ran the plumbing and the plumbers. I do remember shitting my pants a little At the top floor though. They also had this tube with metal rails inside it that went around the whole building with plastic balls and you could send one out and it ended up back at you . Too bad the machine was out of order when I went my dad loved that thing. I'll never forget just looking down at the streets. Looked like that rug with the streets and buildings stitched in it sitting below your feet. To the lives lost RIP.

Thank you so much for posting this! I lived in NYC right by the WTC in 1999 and I was often taking visitors up to the Tower. It was such a part of my daily life that I took it for granted and I never really took video or pictures. I was so lucky because I didn't lose anyone that day but knew of many that lost loved ones. And I always think that I probably passed by those that were lost every day out on the street. I will never forget that horrible day and all of those amazing and beautiful lives that were lost. RIP.

Leafdroid Hell :/ I just cant get over how REAL it was. The towers looked exactly like they did back then and in videos, I was up maybe in the middle or so... and yeah something told me "GET OUT, Something BAD is going to happen!" and the moment I got to ground level and across the street, the enormous explosion, the glass, bricks and debris showered down on me and it felt all too real. This dream has stuck with me for years :(

High quality footage for 1999. I still find it unbelievable that such marvels of human ingenuity were brought down by a small group of thoughtless, close-minded individuals. It's not hard to see why many in the Middle-East disliked the West prior to and after 9/11. Exploitation and war-mongering are things we've long been guilty of. But goddamn, why did these buildings ever need to fall? Killing 3000 innocent people isn't a way to get your point a cross; it's a way to rally pretty much the entirety of the most powerful region in the world against you.

Two interesting notes about the elevator:
    1. There is a 13th floor. (Ironically, those people survived.)
    2. In the South Tower, only four people survived past the 84th floor. So, some of the jumpers would have jumped from the very floor that these visitors were on (107).

or looking down hanging like 2 feet out of a broken window gasping for air. I always wondered what kind of conversations were going on between those poor people trapped. Crying, Screaming, Praying, Yelling, Silence? I wonder if some were calm and conpletley certain that they would be rescued or if people were saying goodbyes to each other or if some people were cracking jokes in an attempt to calm others down. yo opino que las torres gemelas del wtc fueron únicas e impresionantes, de chico soñé con subirme al observation deck, lametable mente las destruyeron cuando tenia 4 años, no tuve oportunidad de ir, y las torres son mejores de la que hay ahora en su sitio 1000 veces mejor, gracias por el video y lo importante es que existieron y con respeto R.I.P a las victimas y familiares que murieron en 11-09-2001

I feel so bad the twin towers were my life i visited them atleast once a month they were beutiful one of a kind and gave you the feel of freedom i remember the day 9/11 happend i was in washington DC i was visiting the white house when i heard a loud explosion a plane had crashed into the pentagon i called my parents to tell them and that is how i
Found out about the towers being hit by a plane my parents
Were watching from the statue of liberty they had visited that
Day my little brother wanted to see it and like 10 minutes later i heard an explosion the south tower had been hit my mom had taken lots of pictures to show me. When i saw all that going on i was going to board a plane to NY but my parents didnt want me to i was such a sad day. In washington it was a catastrophe people were leaving the white house and i saw atleast 50 firefighters and police cars go by i just saw lots of smoke. When i got back to NY i felt NY wasent the same and part of my childhood was gone.

When i heard about NY rebuilding the WTC and Donald Trump sponsoring Twin Towers II i kind of felt my childhood home was going to be back but when i heard about the Freedom Tower i was sad and felt that it didnt represent new york New York is not a modern futuristic city like One World Trade looks and the twin towers felt like home they represented america. And bin laden died happy nowing the majestic american landmark was not going to be here the Freedom Tower is not even closed to being the shadow of the Twin Towers. I just hope one day they rebuild my childhood home so i can take my kids and tell them "kids these are the towers that represent and show other countried we are strong even if they knock us down we are going to stand back up" i can show them how that place feel like your free and happy. I have been to the new WTC and it dosent have that feel of home. Please rebuild the twin towers

+Minion Banana you seriously toke the words out of my mouth, the twin towers were an icon for NY just like the liberty statue and the empire state building, the new tower REALLY fails at that it looks more like something ill see in China or Dubai not NY...it really doesn't fit with whole skyline of NY and it doesn't fit the spirit of of city...for shame

I visited the WTC once. There was a woman crying on one of the floors banging on a window. She was escorted out but no one understood why she was crying. She kept saying they're all going to fall and she started pointing around to the doors where people were inside working. It freaked me out at the time but I thought she was just crazy.

For all that live in New York has the atmosphere changed since 911? Like a sense of sadness and not so feel good anymore? Or is it exactly the same as it was? I just can't see how a city can ever be the same again after such a tragedy.

I've seen a lot of videos of Manhattan on RUclips, people still going strong and happy, from what I could make of it. Just goes to show you can't break peoples spirits no matter what. I reckon it would of bonded the community and brought them together stronger and closer. That's just my opinion anyways. Hope some real New Yorkers could elaborate.

I had the weirdest dream that the WTC was in WINNIPEG. Mind you, I was on Morphine, after surgery. AMAZING dream, though. But still, I look at pics of those buildings and they would swallow any two buildings in Winnipeg, they were so huge, in width as well as height.
