@MrTdog98 You're not wrong, but who is dropping $1,000+ into this book unless it is exactly a 9.6 to a 9.8? Given it's from 1988, I wouldn't drop more than $350 into this book. It's a more recent key than a lot of other key issues from the Copper Age of comics. Unless you're getting a CGC copy in prestine/mint condition, this book ain't worth $1,000.

I just realized today my comic shop sucks. I wasn't really into much but reading them and collecting them until I started watching this channel and a few others a few weeks ago (I have nothing of value of course, since all I did for years was buy new books every week I wanted to read). I didn't know much about pricing. But I was watching one of those hot this week videos a bit ago, and when I went today, I saw a specific book raw, and thought the price looked high. There was actually two at two different prices...They were charging eBay graded 9.6 or 9.8 prices for RAW books. So basically, you could get a 9.8 on eBay EASY for the same price they were selling raw. You maybe could have actually did better on eBay by a few dollars. Is this normal? Because it made me really sad. Honestly, I didn't check any of the others, but all the valuable books looked really really high to me. I also don't think they have a $1 bin anymore. Everything was $3 or more. It looked like if you messed around in there, you might get a deal though. Lots of mid/low grade Goldens and 10-12 cent Marvel and DC. Would take hours though. I can't imagine any shop is doing very good, but I don't know. Also, since I am in there all the time, I noticed that if an issue jumps even a few dollars, all of a sudden, every copy is gone. Even if it sat for weeks like all the other singles. Wakanda 4 being an example. I was thinking it was speculators...but then I started to notice the number 1's would never show up and it would just be 2's and on, or no 2's after the 1 and 3, so I started to wonder if it was the employees pulling them.
If I did that it would go a little something like this Wife: Honey, what’s this charge for $3700? Me: Nothing, just picked up some first appearances at the comic book shop. Wife: (proceeds to google the best divorce attorney in our area).😅

It isn't hard to find that book regularly in a 9.0 or higher. It's a pretty common Copper Age book.
