After Effects Not Playing Full Video

If you're trying to preview your animation on After Effects but the video stops playing after few seconds, even though the range was set to entire duration, I got the solution! First of all, make sure you've selected entire duration as your work area. Then, if the video still stops after a few seconds, watch carefully the green line loading as the video is played. If the green line stops as the video stops than that means your computer doesn't have enough memory to play the video at full resolution.

The reasons why the video stops
1 - After Effects uses up your Computer's RAM (memory) for playing the preview.
2 - The larger the animation, the more RAM Ae requires. This particular preview stops so quickly because it's a 4K video. That's the composition dimension is set to 4K frame. The larger the frame, the more the memory used.
So, the solution is to reduce the preview resolution from Full to Half, Third or even Quarter. Now, when you play the video, watch how quickly the green line loads, how smoothly the video plays and that it plays all the way till the end of the video. This will not affect the final quality of your video.
In addition, I'll show you how to adjust the work area, how to loop or play only once the video, and how to play the preview in the full screen.

Hey! I have an issue that I never had before but when I play my video the picture and sound slows down and speeds up again and again (despite the green bar being fully loaded) and in the "info" window on the side it tells me that it doesn't read in real time
I can only fix it by changing the "ignore" tab (in the preview window) from 0 to 1 or more, then theres no more realtime playback issues but it plays the video like Im editing in 10fps. I'm working on a new macbook pro (one month old) M2 2022 24G RAM 1T storage, I'm using After Effects 2020.
