This is like 37-38 yr old Kidd which is even crazier. He doesn’t get enough credit for how great of a player he was.
It pisses me off that he never gets discussed as an all-time great PG. His understanding of the game, angles and putting his teammates in positions to get easy buckets was second to none. He also developed a deadly 3 point shot in the last couple of years in his career.

I have him behind magic. Stockton is close but he never got over the hump. Plus I feel Jkidd was a bigger better defender & play style could fit with any team. Idk how Stockton would have done outside of that system in Utah. Not sayin he wouldn’t have been great we just ain’t get the chance to see it.
People forget that J-Kidd completely transformed his game and became a deadly 3 point shooter his last couple of years in the league. Dude is an all time great pg.
This team had so many “man I wish they would’ve won a ring in they’re primes” but outside of Dirk I was most happy for Jason Kidd after dragging those nets team to b2b finals to have Shaq feast on Todd MacCulloch and Duncan cook a washed Dikembe he definitely deserved a ring before he retired and was still effective this entire run
Jason Kidd affects the game in so many ways that doesn't show in statsheet. So fun to watch.

Jason proved those haters that he can shoot. He was sniper actually late in his career.
Such an unselfish player. Played his role perfectly. In his finals appearances in New Jersey, it was like the weight of the franchise was on his shoulders. Dirk was such a beast this series. Fun times. Also, I forgot how frequently the Miami Heat spent time complaining to the refs back then. Wholeheartedly believe this contributed to their failure in this series. Gotta keep playing ball regardless of the adversity thrown at you.
Jason kidd was always a NBA champion and the heart of a leader. this was great moment for him. It was a tough road. He deserve that NBA title. He was a great spark. For Dallas mavericks. What i saw from him and the team was team work. That's the key to winning a championship. "Team work" that's what kidd bought.👏💯
Most Mavericks fans to this day significantly underestimate what Jason Kidd meant to that 2011 team. Seems like most of them only remember Dirk... Some remember Terry... But most of them act like Kidd was just another guy... Most Mavs fans were unhappy when the Mavericks traded Harris to NJ in exchange for Kidd. They can't even fathom that Kidd is on Dirk's level for career achievement, much less that Kidd might have even been a slightly better player. Not saying Kidd was better than Dirk, I'm just saying it's in the realm of possibilities... But to Mavs fans Kidd was just "pretty good at one time"...
I love Dirk but kidd definitely had a better skill set I'm sorry I know Dirk was a great post player and spot up but Jason kidd was a skilled defender and a all around god offensively
@French Jesus That's not what I was hearing at the time of the trade... All the sports radio stations in DFW were questioning if it was smart to "give up a young Devin Harris for an old Jason Kidd"... All the local sports media was either ho hum on the trade, or they flat out blasted it, but nobody in the local media was excited about it.
I went on the Mavs forum the days following the trade, almost none of the fans on that forum were excited about the Kidd trade, most of them did not like the trade. I was excited that Kidd was coming back to Dallas, but when I tried to share the excitement with my fellow Mavs fans, they would usually speak ignorantly regarding Kidd.
Even now, they have very little appreciation for what a great player he was...
Mavs didn't include him one bit in the retirement festivities for Dirk, not even a brief video message... Brian Cardinal was included, but not the greatest player to ever put on a Mavericks uniform (Dirk was the greatest Maverick ever, but I think Kidd was an overall better player throughout his career).
Its beyond retardation to compare Kidd & Dirk lmao or any guard & big as a matter of fact.. They're literally nothing alike..

@@Pingaheimer The reason why I would say Kidd was a slightly better player than Dirk, is because Kidd was one of the best defenders in NBA history... Dirk on the other hand was below average on defense for most of his career. The game is more than just offense, and Kidd was great at both ends of the floor.

Honestly that year for the mavs as a whole there was nobody that wanted those rings more then this Dallas maverick team. Literally all vets without a single championship. It was going to be a bad match up for any team that year
