    The BuzzBee Automatic 20 is one of those somewhat overlooked and forgotten blasters a decade after it's release. While it came out around the NERF Vulcan, it was still much before the Stampede and is a pretty decent blaster, though it's flywheels being gapped for nothing but sticky darts kinda ruins it. Decent accuracy, so-so range, and a good rate of fire all powered by only 3 AA batteries makes this thing worth looking into... and the flip up front could make this thing worth modding if you're into that.

    Here's the NH mod guide and drum swap. It's outdated but it's a Nerf Haven writeup that STILL HAS PICS. nerfhaven.com/forums/topic/22433-darthrambos-bbt20a-guide/ I'm thinking if I thrift one, rewire, new motors and cage, new stock, and swap mod. Honestly though, idk of its worth it, might be a better buy if I spent like $45 on a fearless fire instead.

      Btw, it looks like the pusher motor is a standard 130, so that could be replaced as well.

    For the record, I overhauled the semi-auto Tommy 20 with Rhinos and a 3S housed in the stock. It was... glorious. Then it caught on fire.

    Fun fact, in the early days of Cinema when they had shootouts like this in mob movies. It wasn't uncommon for them to hire a marksman to actually shoot the windows out around the talent. And one particular instance, I forget who it was, refuse to do the shot cuz he didn't want people shooting at him. So they shot the windows out and edit it together. The bullet ricocheted right where he would have been standing had they filmed it the way the director wanted to.
    I'm glad you sort of like this plaster. I have a soft spot for these blasters. They do take a lot of work to her to shoot Nerf darts well.

    • @WalcomS7
      @WalcomS7  6 лет назад +7

      From editing, I'm pretty confinced that the windows were shot out by actual bullets. There's no way squibs did that, and I don't think they had BB guns like that back then.

    • @clownienerf
      @clownienerf 6 лет назад +6

      WalcomS7 Fun fact #2 lol.
      "BB BB guns,"or air powered rifles actually go further back than Napoleonic era. Napoleon himself employed a team of men Sharpshooters and snipers to use air powered guns because they were quiet. Lewis and Clark took two of them on their trip across America. On more than one occasion it's saved their asses because they were getting powder wet.

    Classic! I've always LOVED the Thompson, and remember seeing this on commercials everywhere when it came out back in the day! The fact it was kinda like a Thompson was so cool, but i never got one. 😅 looks like some kind of future sci fi or cyberpunk tommy gun! Good stuff, man! Love the Tag backs! 😁😎👌🏻

    If you put a bunch of electrical tape around the flywheels, and sand down the plastic area directly in front of the drum, you can get the blaster to fire elites out to about 50-60 feet. I know, I this to mine.

  • @adriankelly3338
    @adriankelly3338 6 лет назад +3

    I have two of these, and looking for more for the drums! The drum swap is dead simple, just cut off the back of the metal peg. Eventually I'll make a high crush cage for it and make a viable primary. You're going to need to cut a big gaping hole in the shell behind the flywheel cage to make it accept normal length darts though.

    • @WalcomS7
      @WalcomS7  6 лет назад

      I really hope you do make some kind of cage for it, because while magazines may be more practical in many people's eyes, I think there's a certain charm to this thing even when compared to the Fearless Fire. You could easily make this thing rear-loading which you can top up on the field and carry an extra drum or two for quick reloads if you need it.

    Have one of these personally. Works just fine for indoor fights, but is next to useless outside.
    So, it's pretty simple: Use it for fun & giggles inside, but leave it on the shelf if actually having a war. Not a thing wrong with that! Wouldn't part with mine for anything, especially since more and more I'm becoming a big Buzz Bee fan.

  • @johnnyfewhairs1862
    @johnnyfewhairs1862 6 лет назад

    The technical name of the classic tommy gun is the M1 Thompson and was used in WWII and weighs about 10lb unloaded the drum magazine you see used in a lot of movies wasn’t used mush because it weighed so much compared to the straight stick magazine and you could carry more magazines than with the drum magazine the drum mag weighs a little over 4lb and held 50 45.ACP rounds and that doesn’t sound like much weight but it makes a huge difference the stick mag held 20-30 rounds and held the same bullets as the previous mag and weighed little over a 1lb on both of them overall it’s a vary fun, classic, and simple and overall a fun fun

  • @willbeck8567
    @willbeck8567 5 лет назад

    i bought two at thrift 4 bucks a piece, the motors love 2s lipo,a basic rewire and "reworking the cage" literally meant cutting the space down between the motors ( the fly wheels are huge in this thing) in a chop saw, it produces a mid crush, plastic welding back together reinforcing with a thin piece of metal with exopy, its a flat shelf with motors sticking thru. total investment about 6 dollars, works good, flings the foam decently hard and good ROF, if you want to be different, i mean i have about every other nerf flywheelers and several of the other brands , the odd stuff is fun sometimes, but honestly looking at the new Savage Spin for 30 dollars,

Found a stock rayven cage, after cutting the screw ports from the corners just about fits and am currently in the process of getting one to fit for better flywheels. May see if I can get a buddy to design a cage at some point ☺

    If you could change out the flywheel cage with a Stryfe cage and find a way to stick a Stryfe magwell in this thing, and then do it up as an M1928A1 with a 30-dart magazine, well, the world would be your oyster in terms of what you could get it to do. But then, you'd just be getting the thing for its shell, realistically, and could have just done the same with an auto-stryfe.
