    Good set - the tyres and rims itself are the highlights - Lego should be ashamed they can’t get the rear tyre size correct in their sets. Value for money. The build is unorthodox - not for Lego purists. The build was smooth - lucky no missing pieces and all the parts had good tolerances but sometimes a bit fiddly. Great review - actually bought the set based on your review. The printed tyres and rims are to die for at this scale and price point.

      Yeah the tyres are so good

    Sp you are the best! I bought the rb and ran into that same issue with the little cylinder I didn’t see you run into that with this one seems like the Alfa romeo was problem free?

      Thank you, most appreciated. It was a while ago but I don’t recall anything specific, I brought the Red Bull set after the Alfa Romeo so I was even more critical perhaps

      @@speedybrick as always thank you! Ordered it since it’s still a good F1 brick kit with official license so looking forward to building it!

    I have to say when I saw it next to the speed champions mercedes F1 car, it looks so much more realistic and proportional. However it's also bigger and not minifigure scale anymore. It's mainly the front and the small tires that look off with the Lego version. I hope the rumoured Lego speed champions F1 McLaren is going to be good.

    • @speedybrick
      @speedybrick  Год назад +2

      Yeah the larger scale enables a lot more detail and accuracy. Even the new speed champions sets aren’t really minifig scale so that does bother me. Yes it would be nice to see Lego make some more F1 cars, McLaren would make sense as they already have a relationship with them

    Might be a long shot… but on step 25/26 the short cylindrical black piece doesn’t secure inside the single dot black part. This is the section that makes up the brake discs in front. How did you get it to stay?

    Looks like it's the 2022 alfa romeo. Interesting that Lego wasn't able to make slick tires for its speed champions mercedes F1 car but cada made even special printed rims for this one. Nice to see so many printed pieces I wish Lego did that as well. Although I have to say, if a great number of pieces in a set are printed then it kind of takes away the point of using the bricks to rebuild something else which is the whole point of Lego bricks. So I think I kind of understand Lego's philosophy when it comes to stickers and printed pieces.

    • @speedybrick
      @speedybrick  Год назад +1

      Indeed, actually there weren’t many printed elements. Mostly stickers. The tyres and rims really make a big difference to the final result and Lego did something similar with the speed champions f1 car without the slick tyres of course

    It looks like you could duplicate this set with Lego , and just purchase the tires separately ? If they did this or not ? Either way looks amazing .

    • @speedybrick
      @speedybrick  11 месяцев назад

      Yes indeed I am working on a couple of MOCs already at the same scale, they will fit the 30.4/14 tyres but they are not as nice as the tyres on this set. Been looking for other options on line but not found any yet. In the meantime I am making them with brake hubs. Will make build videos once ready
