Hi there. I made some simple scale calculations and I think, actually, this model is one of the best proportioned. No need to do the modifications. Almost all speed champions sets are scaled 1:31 or so. If you take the real size of the car and the lego model size, and you take that scale into consideration, you will see al dimensions and ratios (width:length, width:height and width:wheelbase) are almost perfect. Comparisons with a picture are extremely difficult and misleading. At least, you should try to compare by using two main points as reference, like the wheel distance or the height and one wheel center.

What would be interesting to see is each one of these Mocs having a price comparison added to the video. Here in the UK the average single Speed Champions set is £21, how much would this cost to buy the instructions from Rebrickable and all the parts from Bricklink? Good videos though…keep them up!

really nice speed Champions size moc great for stop motion and display but the driver is kinda weird lookin i would love of someone made a f1 race with these cada and lego speed champions also the cada is WAY more detailed than legos f1s edit:i had no idea that the cada and speed champions are different sizes

Wow really clean model! I don't find the source material particularly beautiful, but I certainly respect the accuracy. In many ways, this car reminds me of the infamous Chapparal 2J which had a fan system to keep the car glued to the road and was likewise banned from the Can-Am series, if i remember correctly!

i love it, i feel like gotta point out that the rim part you used for the rear fan is the wrong one, the right one is the smaller one from the 6 stud era cars

i have fond memory's of me and my brother having the set with this and the 919. also while the new lego speed champions are better, the older ones were still ahead of their time.

S1 is my choice for best speed champion!

I’m building the larger 1:8’scale versions, but felt the Block Zone Red Bull F1 car is much stronger structure than the Cada Alfa Romero F1 car I built first. Will get more Block Zone cars for sure.

I personally prefer the Lego version, but I love the functions, front headlights and the mirrors the moc is able to have I don't know if it's possible, but I'd definitely love instructions on how to modify the headlights of the original set and maybe even some of the functions too

The Lego DB5 is way cleaner. I think it's one of the best Speed Champs they've ever done.

Thanks again for the review man! I’m very pleased you did this one as a comparison. Still planning to update that DB5 one day with a stronger rear end and more reliable ejector seat mechanism. Probably a challenge for this winter. Glad you liked the build though. Thats great to hear

I think all of NV’s Mocs are great, but I’ll have to give this one to Lego because of the smoother shaping despite the sticker usage.
